It was an easy add to our repertoire. We especially love finding songs that "feel" like they were meant for Steel Pan, and this one sits so nicely on the instrument. Thanks so much for listening!
We're talking away I don't know what I'm to say I'll say it anyway Today's another day to find you Shying away I'll be coming for your love, okay? Take on me, (take on me) Take me on, (take on me) I'll be gone In a day or two So needless to say I'm odds and ends I'll be stumbling away Slowly learning that life is OK Say after me It's no better to be safe than sorry Take on me, (take on me) Take me on, (take on me) I'll be gone In a day or two Oh the things that you say Is it live or Just to play my worries away You're all the things I've got to remember You're shying away I'll be coming for you anyway Take on me, (take on me) Take me on, (take on me) I'll be gone In a day I'll be gone (take on me) In a day (take me on, take on me) (Take on me, take on me) (Take me on, take on me) (Take on me)
Thank you so much - Steel Pans are originally from Trinidad, and if you love the texture, check out some authentic Trinidadian Steel Bands. It’s a totally different art form, but worth falling down that rabbit hole. Thanks for listening!
Thank you so much! We're just wrapping up our respective school years (we both teach in public schools) and have more videos on the way! We appreciate your enthusiastic support :)
Hi Nicole! Purchasing Steel Pans can be a little complicated - happy to discuss over email. My Pans (Gregg - Double Tenors) are made in the USA by Kyle Dunleavy (www.dunleavypans.com), and Aaron's Pan (Lead Pan) was made by Ellie Manette, whose company still makes pans in West Virginia, USA (www.mannetteinstruments.com). There is at least a 1 year waiting period for a professional instrument, but there are *some* trustworthy places to source student level instruments that don't sound terrible. Feel free to email me if you're interested in chatting about your goals for acquiring your own pan: Gregg @ IslandTimeSteelBand.com Thanks for listening!
this song really lends itself to the steel pans, especially its chorus, so this is really cool!
