Hey Chris! Love your idea on the diorama. I have that Silverado kit and I can’t wait to see yours finished. I like the Tamiya white pearl. It’s going to look awesome!
Thanks Gloria!!! Billy Strange really saved my butt!!! He gave me his process he used on his Porsche build. It looks fantastic!! I only hope mine comes out half as good!
If you start airbrushing try out Jameston’s metallics. I also recommend Mr Hobby metallics. But a dull coate over the Gloss aluminum looks good. Also depending on what material your interior would be you could hit the racing white with a dullcoat too. Because it’s going to be a nice glossy cream. I like all those colors. Good choices for everything. Cool stash adds too. Really love that Olds in the Busch livery. Always have. That’s such a great idea for a diorama. Such an iconic moment. That Mr finisher is absolutely the best. Awesome update Chris!! I sort of like all those colors you came up with. Pretty neat. But the Tamiya is probably my favorite spoon. Good stuff.
Jameston makes Great paint. Nice supply adds. You can dull coat over TS-17 and it's very close to metalizer Alum. Cool idea for a Dio. I don't see a difference between black or grey. I usually go with black. I like the hood. I'll be watching
Thanks for watching Mike! I got some great colors of Jameston's paints, really looking forward to learning how to airbrush. I prefer the black also. To me just a little bit easier to work with. Thanks for the tips!
If you want the white pearl (like my Porsche i just finished a month ago), start with Mr Finishing surfacer 1500 White, then Tamiya TS 26 Pure White, then Tamiya TS45 Pearl White. If you want a stronger pearl effect, skip the TS45 and use Tamiya TS65 Pearl Clear. Pearl Clear will have a stronger Pearl effect than a Pearl mixed in with a color (pearl white). Looks great so far! 🤙
THANK YOU BILLY!!!!! I really want a white pearl, but I was ready to just use the Extreme Laquer Diamond Dust and settle for the silver. You are awesome, my friend!!! Did you put another clear coat over that, or just the pearl clear?
I've tried the Dull Red on a model and it works well (it dries with a matte finish) but I ended up not using it because it looked to much like oxide (brown/red) primer. However - It would make a good base coat for the Italian Red if you wanted that color to be a little darker. 👍
Hey Chris, I love the diorama idea. Are you going to model them on the backstretch wrecked with Petty passing them? Lol I still watch that race from time to time on RUclips. I wont watch new races, but I will watch the old ones. The Silverado is looking nice. Great job on the bed cover.
Lots of kewl stuff going on Chris.
Thanks Zippi!!
Very nice stash addons and the silverado is going to be nice
Thanks Ed! Appreciate you watching!
Awesome idea with the 79-year model nascar diorama.
Thanks Terry! Hopefully it happens on day!
Cool stash adds and update! Diggin’ the diorama idea! Have a great weekend, brother!

Looks like a great start Chris.
Thanks Ron!

I answered my own question. I watched your video on the Porsche. Thank you again!
