The entire Heathen album was masterful, from Slow Burn, to Everyone Says Hi, to Slip Away, & this opener which is done beautifully here... Again, ambience is one approach, as Bowie & Eno showed in the Trilogy many years back, but you also have to have the song itself, or the great pattern shifts, as is Bowie's trademark here & throughout his career... the legend never dies
Wow I just realised as I read your comment that Heathen is up there with many other DB classics. The tracks you mention are the reason I feel this. The modern era disconnects us from albums favouring individual songs. Hearing Sunday performed live recently, I had to look up the track to remind me of the album it’s from. I still have all the CDs.
I happened upon this this morning and it literally stopped me in my tracks (I had RUclips on my TV in my living room.) This is absolutely not only one of the best fan-made David Bowie videos EVER (if not the best,) it ranks among the very best of David's official videos, right up there with Life on Mars, for instance. And the fact that you put this together not long after after his death, well, I don't know how you did it. I couldn't get through WATCHING a Bowie video for two months after David's passing without gently weeping, gut-punched with sadness and profound feelings of loss, let alone create a video from scratch. I can't thank you enough, Sebastien, for this incredible labor of love you have gifted all us fans of David with. It's haunting, beautiful and spellbinding. It captures David's art in such a way that you cannot parse David from his art. David IS art; art IS David. It's just stunning, phenomenal; a revelation. An absolutely incredible video and work of art. Much love and deep, heartfelt gratitude to you. Now excuse me as I reach for some tissues.
TVC15ohoh thank you for those words that touched me... doing this audio version and video was a way to mourn. It was a very emotional experience, but I'm proud to share with you, Bowie lovers. Cheers from France !
You touched my soul with this video. The talent of David Bowie is limitless. He's obviously a Song writer like no other. And a voice second to none. And knowing exactly how a particular song should sound and finding the incredible muscians to get that sound. It all comes together as a collage of incredible music. Then this savant learns his passing is eminent, does he look for pitty? Or go into hiding? Lord knows I probably would. He only puts out probably his most relevant music that wraps you up in his deepest emotions where it hurts. David I have seen you many times. You never met me but I've met you. You are my friend and we will meet and I will introduce myself up there. REST MY FRIEND
Such a beautiful tribute to the exceptionnal David Bowie... d'une grande beauté, tres tres touchée... merci beaucoup... un tres joli partage... merci... Rest in Peace David Bowie... You have touched so many of us...
For the most part I don't like it when people alter his songs. But this...nothing short of breathtaking. Sound and vision both. It should tell you something that there is not a single "thumbs down" for it. That is extremely rare for anyone.
David touches my inner core. Moves me like a chess piece with his soundscapes. This nurturing, intelligent, sweet man has enriched countless lives. May his wife remember the love, laughs and learning he brought to her life. She got to have him in a way many would envy. May his children always realize their blessing as well.
He was different from everyone else... he was special, and his creativity is special... This composition is perfect... Rest in peace... You are now where the cranes fly, and the name of this is ETERNITY... thank you for everything... ⭐ 🎶 ❤ ❤ ❤
As I am a DAVID BOWIE fan from the very beginning (it was 1972 when I heard STARMAN for the first time), I particularly like these tribute videos! Hats off for this creativity!
@@bobdooly3706 Andy Warhol came out in 1971, on Hunky Dory. Still, that's a year before David truly started to become known in America. I heard my first Bowie song in late October, 1972.
So true marvellous music 🎶 72 that when step in David word at dunstable 21 June 1972 we all grow older together 😢still miss the the man who sold the world and gave back in music armen
Really good, I've been listening to this every day for weeks!! I don't think I'll ever stop listening to this, the mix of isolated vocals and that instrumental at 4:24 and on is epic, 10/10 to this mix.
this video...ripped my heart out..again..so does the song...idk why...just does always has...some things...we can't know i guess. Time..lies..and we are left to sort it out as best we can..it is not healing...it just drags on..happens every time...Forever is not short..it's a never ending nightmare for those of us who's lives are replaying over and over and over...past present future..fragmented..we who exist only in a shattered mirror....look into our eyes...set us Free...send us Home
thank you so much for this. The images, the mix the love that's gone into this. He shaped my youth, into adulthood and here to day at 56 his music still moves me. i miss him so much
Thank you for this beautiful piece of art. It touched me deeply. I try each day to be worthy of having that angel in my world till God needed him back. May we all reach higher the together ❤
I have already reviewed this video several times and would like to Express my huge gratitude to the author for the excellent work done... Very strong song... Like his space songs, David was the whole cosmos... David is gone, but his voice is still with us, and in this song it particularly bothers me... Rest in peace, dear friend...❤
Sebastien, this is stunning and takes my breath away. Ive not seen such a perfect video...perfect, perfect. Youve captured his essence, his magic, his otherworldliness, his foreverness. Please make more xxx
Yet another genius Bowie song draws you into listening to Heathen such a trip. Very clever video. Bowie is still here inspiring todays talent. Great upload.
Danke sehr, Sebastien für diese wundervolle Hommage. Ist großartig geworden, in Verbindung mit diesem Lied berührt es sehr. Was für ein unfassbarer Verlust!
@Sébastien Bédé, amazing job! Just heard this song for the first time today, and your re-engineered version is one of the greatest tributes ever. If Bowie would've been with us today, he'd have come to shake your hand personally for this gem! Keep up the good work! :)
You have shared such a touching, classy and amazing compilation of all the diverse aspects of David' Bowies life, with rare photos and footage of his. It sent chills down my spine and held me spellbound as I watched it and you made me cry (which very few people have ever been able to do) because of how beautiful a tribute it was and the ending with him smiling and the Blackstar was sheer perfection on your part. If I was David Bowie I would have approved of it 100%. He is lucky to have a fan like you to do such an amazing tribute to him! Thank you for giving us, his other fans, a "keepsake" video of him to watch in the years to come when we want to take a moment of our time to remember him. (I think he must be smiling down on you too!).Mary Jean Shelter-Pies
Thank you for this wonderful tribute to a simply magnificent artist. Like many others here, I was in awe of David Bowie and miss him terribly - probably more so than anyone now gone who I have not known personally. This video and song capture at least in part the almost mythical character he was and increasingly I think will continue to become.

Agree
No one and nothing compares to this Godly, singular artist, and none ever will. I am so sorry that this planet has lost him...
I'm so agree with you !
Amen
😢so true its never been the same 😢
It hurts. The strength of this man is incredible. I miss you so much.
So true but we have the memories of man 👨 just made us all smill for ever still looking down saying still playing my music 🎶
Grazie Mr. Jones per tutte le emozioni che ci hai regalato e per i tuoi sorrisi...ci mancherà tutto di te.. .love Bowie
He shall always be ..Bowie.....i love his work and his glass....he was always sharp
Love it! I'm listening with tears in my eyes. He sings "everything has changed" and so it did January 10, 2016...
YES it definitely did tore my heart into a million more pieces than I had before I miss him SO SO SO MUCH
I'm with you my friend. Such pain
I want to cry, the song gives me so much melancholy:(
@Sébastien Bédé
This is a lovingly made video in memory of David Bowie.
Thank you very much for that.
Oh, how I love this song 🎵
Touched me deeply, right where Bowie's lifetime of work influenced me.
