We had this game on our school computers. We would play 4 side by side all the time. Old ibm computers befor we updated to Pentium 1 PC's with ethernet inserted a few years later. Fun times.
I didnt get everything you said at the end. But i used to play the basic version back in early 80’s. Was a great game. No waitresses or hitchhikers. Hell it didnt have any graphics. But played hell out of it all the same
It took me a week to finally get the Good outcome for the blonde on the side of the road I mostly got the dejected followed by the truck stolen The programmer went more for a PG route VS something like LORD where flirting with the waitress was not kid friendly and the damsel in distress in the tower not kid friendly either

I played a DOS shareware text adventure of this back in the day. Don't remember if we downloaded it from a BBS or got it from the bin of disks.
I remember getting games like this that we played in the Computer Users Group at DeVry. Games like VGA Planets, TW2002 and the like
