    William Edward Murray (16 February 1920 - 21 April 2013) was an Australian bishop of the Catholic Church. Murray was born in Leichhardt and was ordained as a priest on 21 July 1945 in the Archdiocese of Sydney. He was appointed bishop of the Diocese of Wollongong on 5 June 1975 and consecrated on 21 July 1975. Murray remained with the diocese until his retirement on 12 April 1996. Murray died on 21 April 2013 at a Sydney nursing home. He was 93.

    1976 was probably the turning point from which Society has been fracturing at an accelerating pace,directly proportional to the loss of Faith,and unfortunately the failure of the Shepherds to guard the flock. Bishop Murray was prophetic in a simple and direct manner. This interview is extremely pertinent to ...here...and...NOW. These are the testing times. Peace on Earth to all men of goodwill,and may God confound the rest.
