Dave, I have had a deathly fear of spiders for a very long time. I have been watching your videos now for about a month. I have a whole new appreciation for the spider 🕷 and their beauty because of your expertise and husbandry. I am thinking about getting a little miniature tarantula of my own. Today what you did was phenomenal! Bravo sir!!! 😊😊

It's not fare if you don't have as you say a plan for it and i agree! Life is life...respect! Now I will watch the video and as usual I'm sure it will be amazing! WOW! I can not believe you gently pinned her down allowing him time to wrangle a position for escape! Bravo! Impressive. Looked like she lost interest along the way. Then after he fumbled about, she pretty much fell asleep on him. Only to awaken after a tumble down hill. He was trying to get her down on a level playing field. She was like "nah". The female in this case was "not helping." Hope you get a bagillian babies! Great work on your part. Good luck! May the rest go smoothly!

Thank you for the caution about having a definite destination in mind for any spiderlings you breed. One of my major issues with breeders of any kind of animals is their seeming disregard for the fate of the little ones they create. My opinion is that if you help create the life you are responsible for it. (I do really love everything about your channel.)

Can really hear the mossy frogs at the end there. Thought your male - or female- was a goner this time! You got there just in time to prevent certain death there. I wondered about her intentions from the time she stopped drumming and, as you pointed out, was poised in a manner that suggested she may pounce. I think she was completely torn about what she was going to do from then on. Self preservation, or a big meal and self preservation? I thought from then that he was toast. Good save!

I love geniculata, I have 4 and they are all amazing. I have 2 confirmed females and confirmed male but my male is still juvenile and only 1 of my females is an adult. Eventually my plan is to try and breed them and this video im going to use as reference. I completely agree with what you said about how sensitive they are to vibrations, when moving any of my enclosures I make sure to do it slowly and will always put the enclosure down as gently as possible to try and avoid any unneeded stress. I can safely say any fear I once had for arachnids has changed into full on respect for them. Couple of months ago I tried to pair my N. incei, I had their enclosures next to each other for a week prior to trying to mate them and that definitely helped as I believe they sensed each other, reason I think that is because I tried to feed the female a day before I was planning on breeding them and they female initially tapped at the roach almost as if she started drumming so I think she thought it was the male. Anyway I got the roach out and next day I opened both enclosures and encouraged the male to climb over into her enclosure, as soon as his legs touched her enclosure I stopped encouraging him and allowed him to walk in on his own time, well he walked into her enclosure, felt her webbing and doesn't drum or shake but just walks straight upto her and when straight to trying to mate with her, she didn't appreciate that and chased him. About 5 mins later and they are actually breeding, I had the biggest smile on my face seeing it. They kept breeding for about 5 hours in total going back and forth. Sadly last month she moulted but I'm going to try again
