    I've been looking and trying to decide between different online French courses.
    Thank you for doing such a great (comprehensive and professional) review and outline.
    As an absolute beginner, this looks like a great choice.

    Salut Lois, great review. I bought rocket french about a good 2 months ago, after checking out multiple reviews, including yours.
    The combination of the interactive audio lessons, the mock conversations, the grammar and short cultural lessons and all the reinforcement are really comprehensive.
    Besides the mock conversations there is talking, writing, recalling in all of them, so even more speaking and listening practice.
    In addition to the course I got "play the part" and use that frequently when I feel like having more conversations instead of learning another french grammar principle.
    Another addition is anki, where I past some phrases from rocket french in which I had problems with or which includes some more vocabulary.
    Listening to french music also helps and being a singer I thouroughly learned two songs and performed them at concerts. ;-)
    I hope to get to a level of french where I can start enjoying french movies or series soon.

      @@loistalagrand another thing that I do is to go back to previous lessons - not to do the entire lesson all over again, but often I just do the "hear it - say it", sometimes more. And I summarize the grammar principles in an office document for myself with some examples, so I have short reminders of those too.

    Hello Loïs, I am not a totally beginner, I studied French for 2 years at the university. Which course do you recommend?

  • @TheUrbanEpicure
    @TheUrbanEpicure 3 месяца назад

    Hi Loïs. I've been learning French for some years on Duolingo at super low intensity, and am finally doing a classroom course now. I wrapped up A1 level but I want to go back to an online solution for the flexibility it offers. Is Rocket French still a good choice if you're slightly advanced already, or am I wasting my money?
    What I've been missing in this video in general - what is your general assessment of Rocket? Is it the BEST app/website for French overall, as others have said?

      Rocket French if you want a complete and organized program, FrenchPod101 if you want tons of content.

    Would you recommend Rocket over Pimsleur (especially if you want to be able to read the language and speak it)?

    • @loistalagrand
      @loistalagrand  Год назад +2

      They are both great for speaking, but Rocket is much more advanced when it comes to reading. Pimsleur doesn't focus much at all on the written language.

    Hello. Which is more fun or engaging? Rocket or Pinsleur? I’ve heard Rocket uses more cultural aspects of a country to teach the language. Is that true?

    • @loistalagrand
      @loistalagrand  Год назад +1

      The cultural aspects of Rocket are pretty limited. Rocket is probably more engaging. The lessons are much more varied. You still need to put in the work though.

    Could rocket be a good fit for someone who understands basic French (if not spoken too fast😅), but can only respond very basic. Main intrest is getting conversational to work as a hotel receptionist. Thank you!

    Would rocket french be a good preparation for the DELF B1 exam?

    • @loistalagrand
      @loistalagrand  9 месяцев назад

      Rocket French level 3 goes up to B2. That's the case fore all Rocket Languages programs that have 3 levels.
      In addition to Rocket French, you may want to get a book that will prepare you specifically for the DELF exam. Rocket Languages will bring your overall level up, but there may be some specific vocab/grammar that you'll need for the DELF.

      Depends. What's your current level? Rocket French is pretty comprehensive, and it contains a lot of conversation training (something that you may not have done in the past).
