A lot of time they have a book coming out, but I agree it feels like much more than a promo. It gives you a real insight into their early life, you get to know them a lot better and thus more likely to buy the book
I’m an Everton fan and moyes done a great job for us not always appreciated, since this interview he finally got his reward for years of dedication by winning europa cup, I watched it and have to admit was a bit emotional given his history with us, I punched the air at the final whistle and shouted “go on davey” 😂 I was genuinely made up for him, he’s a good man and deserves any success he gets.
Ill never forget when Moyes took the united job - about a week or two before season start, him and his dad came into my old place of work (it was my first job, i was a waiter) but i remember feeling start struck as they came in, being a united fan. But got chatting and all i can say is him and his dad are the most polite and genuine people - god bless you both!
Great interview,Mr Moyes is the last of the great “old school”Managers and I’m proud of his 3yrs at WHU.his leadership is solid, honest but humble without ego(in a time where everyone has a opinion!)I hope he can help WHU to consistent tradition before he hands it over to the next….COYI⚒️
What you're doing Stephen is incredible! The interview, the aesthetic, the editing its brilliant to watch what you're building! The hyper growth you've seen over this last short period of time has been so justified! Keep up the great work!
David Moyes is one of the nicest and most hard working managers in football. What a great human being. Got so much unnecessary stick after Man United sacked him. He deserves so much respect!
This is what makes me so gutted it's all gone to you-know-what at my club. If we didn't have the puffed-up hoopla of the EPL and this crazy addiction to CL football, this wouldn't be a problem. Sadly, most fans pay a huge amount of money to watch West Ham and when we see sub-standard football for over a year, not just months, and with some of us not even being to afford to heat our houses, it makes us say things in desperation. I love the guy and I am devastated it's turned out like this. I'd be happy to see him as a director of the club because his football knowledge is incredible, but he isn't a top coach. If only he had top quality coaches working with him, but he hasn't. They are all terrible, yes, including Nevin, who along with Southgate has held England back. I'm very happy about that as I support Germany, but Nevin is helping to destroy the good players we have.
As a United fan, regardless how things turnt out with David I have always admired and respected him and what he has done, this interview has totally reinforced the respect!
No way you made this happen mid season...this channel is so elite Now ive watched the full podcast, theres so many questions i would love to ask. As an ex everton manager, he would have known fellani had a buy out clause that expired on a specific day (back in 2013). Why did the club submit a bid AFTER the buyout clause expired? Also, david got rid of experienced playing staff to bring in his own men, who have not won anything between them...Was unfortunate to lose his job after so little time, but the football was poor, results were poor and the transfer activity was a shambles. This was a brilliant watch though.
@David G yeh true, but the part where i mentioned fellanis buy out clause, he would of known that, thats part of the transfer activity im on about. 95% was down to woodward
A humble request from one Manchester United fan to another. Please try and get sir Alex Ferguson on your podcast. I am sure that a lot of your viewers would want to go deep inside the mind of the man who made our football club so successful and special.
Listening to David Moyes speak about his time at Man Utd and the manner in which he was sacked resonates in my own life with experiences I have had in corporate after literally giving my all for companies. The emotional scars take long to heal, and I really wish that more leaders can learn as David said that there are better ways of communicating with people when difficult decisions are to be made. I have also been in the position where I am the one who have had to make the tough decisions but I have always made every effort to do it in as dignified a manner as possible. As a life-long Man Utd fan I did feel he was out of his depth but supported him while he was there and felt that he was treated harshly by the board in the end.
A very honest and revealing interview with David Moyes . It still hurts over his sacking at Manchester United . He comes across as a very likeable man , and hopefully he can achieve good things for West Ham .
Was fascinating to finally hear David's side of the united story and his personal views and beliefs after all these years as a United fan. Grew up watching him on the telly and he's truly an underrated manager. Hope he can turn it around at West ham.

David Moyes what a fantastic story of how his passion for football took him from the tenements of Glasgow to football management success🙌. As a West Ham fan and one who has had my grievances with how Moyes has done things recently (and the board), I feel like I understand him a lot more after this, and respect to him.
I've always had respect for Moyesey. The job he did at Everton was nothing short of remarkable and the team he built there with the rock solid defence and great going forward too he had the balance of that team to perfection and maintained it for a long time. I think if Manure gave him 3-4 years to really put his stamp on them and build something he would have been a success.
The way you engage with your guests is so unique and interesting, you really go about it in such a different way to most, getting real truthful and in-depth conversation and personality out of them, there is nothing close to how well you do this from what I’ve seen from other people, you must have a real interest in psychology, it’s too notch, 👍
This interview shows Moyes in a very good light . Fair play to Moyes going on the podcast a lot of managers try to avoid the media but fair play to him going on.
Great manager, better man, and a wealth of knowledge and experience that needs to be passed on. Nice to see him in such and relaxed and none football environment. TY
One of the more down to earth interview rather than intense characters with other guests. Deserve better for his role and recognition at Everton and well deserved to come back with building a success team at Westham and this is coming from a Arsenal Fan.
As an amateur Coach in the 80s, 90s and early 2000s; things have changed so much. The essence of team has changed to one of self importance. In the days of Moyes at Everton players and managers were tough, hard working and Brutal with each other. Standards did not slip with the elders in teams. I saw his Everton team play against Leeds, they were organised, Disciplined and hard working. Nothing was left to spare… it was great times for football and great players. Unlike Southgates England who are clueless, Spineless and do not have leadership and a style of play like this man..
Superb interview. David Moyes came across as a very intelligent, thoughtful man...without doubt values-driven and balanced. Stephen's questions were excellent in terms of gaining in-sight. Brilliant last question about David's wife. Not just focussed on what you need to do to be successful but giving a real sense of the person.
What a thoroughly decent man David Moyes appears to be. In life you don’t always get what you deserve but David certainly deserves to do well. I think after this interview he went on to lift a European trophy with West Ham and I watched his dad come onto the pitch at the end of the game which was quite an emotional scene to see. A great memory for them both.
Put his management career aside. This man is a real winner in life. The way he loves his wife and children is amazing. More power to you David. Love ur testimony 🤛🏾💪🏾
Great interview, balanced, open and honest. I am a fanatical Man U fan, it didn’t work out for Moyes for many reasons, I hope he can enjoy success at WHU
These podcasts are fuc*ing astounding. The guests, the questions the video quality is all top notch. Genuinely don’t know anything better at the moment.
Hi Steven, As a liverpool fan i would love if you could bring Jurgen Klopp. I know liverpool is not in a good place right now but what he has done for our club and turned around the culture fascinated me. Btw i love your podcasts and i have learned a lot by listening to them regularly. Thank you for your wonderful content and keep up the great work! Thanks❤️
Heart was in my mouth thinking Moyes was going to address the Wilfried Zaha and his daughter rumour with that last question! Another great interview, loving the football based guests recently.
Moyes at United didn't work because of timing, and I think it's that simple. Back then, he just wasn't ready for such a big jump, but his time over the last decade has improved him immensely as a manager. If something terrible were to happen with ETH, I would be okay with having Moyes in again after him. That said, ETH is a better manager for the modern game, with Moyes being much more in the vein of SAF. Both great managers, just very different styles/philosophies.
I always held David Moyes in high esteem. This interview demonstrates his integrity and strength of character, which unfortunately was not shown by Man United during his tenure or during future managerial reins at the club.
A very open and honest interview not a Man U, West Ham or Everton fan, but like David Moyes and feel very sorry what happened to him at Man U and damaged what was a very good reputation
Steve, I loved this interview with David Moyes. As a United fan, I am embarrassed the way that he was treated by the club with a total lack of respect. He rightly pointed out that following a dynasty like he did at United it was always going to be extremely difficult. On top of that the pressure put on him from the demanding fans made it 10 times more demanding. I understood his appointment as a successor to Sir Alex with both coming from the similar background and obviously Sir Alex had recommended that David Moyes was a logical successor with over 10 years experience at Everton - the problem was that we are a totally different animal. I think he knows that now. When we now look back and realise that Solskjaer, with absolutely no experience, got 3 years and even admitted that he did not do the coaching yet it took a series of horrendous defeats to force the hands of these owners who have as much knowledge of football management as my dog before they parted ways. David comes across as a thoroughly lovely guy who has dedicated his life to his love of everything football. Long may his love of football continue and respect to him that even after the disappointment at United he can still be truthful and say nice things about the club. As fans we only see what we want to see.
David Moyes is a good man and a very good football manager. As a Mancunian and a Utd fan since the 70s I'm embarrassed with the way the club treated him during his time at Old Trafford. Ed Woodward lacks the class and respect of his predecessor (David Gill) and should hang his little head in shame with the disgraceful way he treated David Moyes. A few of the seniors players also played their part and lacked the professionalism and maturity to get behind the new manager. If David Gill had been at the helm and Martin Edwards hadn't sold out to the Glazers then perhaps it would've been a different story. Well done for creating another great episode!
I think sometimes as fans we do often tend to only look at the very top as being successful, but when put into perspective, given just how many managers and players really exist, just to manage in the Premier League and being able to play in a European competitions is a massive achievement for anyone Professional footballers playing in League One & Two and even below have still achieved a whole lot when you look at the entire spectrum
Great to hear his side. Its like people in football read off cards saying the same stuff. Interviews are ruined by rubbish reporters. Would love to just hear them talk as humans after the game without them facing fines for saying the wrong thing.
As a United fan I dont hold a grudge against Moyes. He is a top top manager and so so underrated. I actually blame Sir Alex for that issue and pushing for his appointment. He is a top manager but a job of that magnitude was not something you can just be thrown into at the deep end, especially when Gill was leaving at the same time.
As a neutral I think he would have done a arteta given the time. Just hard to give him time when fergie had so much success previously. Still think long term keeping moyes would have worked out better than what followed. Especially if moyes would have pushed back against signing overpriced big names over wha signings work best for the team as a whole
I love the way this conversations are done! Great respect for that! And David Moyes - he still should be Man United manager. Manager, not couch! Great respect for him!
United fan here. Moyesy is a good man. Good manager as well. Was hard done by at United by the club, particularly the Glazers, Woodward and even Sir Alex for putting him in that position with no real choice, and David Gill also leaving at the same time, with an ageing squad that should ve already been preparing replacements, a horrific transfer window with broken promises ran by amateurs like Woodward and more. Wish him all the best. West Ham fans shouldnt forget where they were last season, i know its really hard right now but Arsenal finished 8th 8th and 5th before this season. Gives some perspective on this fickle old game we love.
David Moyes says all the right things, and he has been so close to being one of the very best managers. But for the same reasons he has been so highly rated, he has a lot of problems. Can't help but feel that his style of management just hasn't changed and whilst that temporarily worked with West Ham, it has very quickly been found out. Good luck Moysey
@@specter1019 How? He got a guard of honour on his last game lol... the Everton fans were upset by him trying to lowball the club out of our two stars Fellaini and Baines, but ultimately we still all have a lot of love and respect for Moyes
This interview was brilliant. I know you are a Man U fan but me being a gunner I would just love to see Arsene Wenger on here! The way it ended was not right but he is the complete hero of my life. Cheers ❤️
I'm 37 and my cousin who's now 42 I genuinely believe could have made it as a professional footballer. He played from a kid in various school and local teams and played Sunday league as he got older and he was genuinely really good. I always said to describe what type of player he was would be a 50/50 between Roy Keane and Paul Scholes type of player. Central midfield, could control games, tackle, run with the ball, pass, shoot, head the ball he had everything and it just came naturally to him. He was spotted by a scout from Stockport County at 16 and asked to come to their ground to play in a game of young talented players the scout told him that if he played like he did that day they'd definitely probably sign him up. The day came and he was 10% of what we knew he was and we were all like what is wrong with him he couldn't keep up with the pace of the game, lost possession a few times, wasn't tracking back etc and he got subbed off at half time and told he wouldn't be being selected. It turned out a couple of weeks before he got a girlfriend and she turned up to his trial and he'd also been out the night before drinking and hadn't been to bed. He basically blew it and I'm not saying he'd have gone on to be world class or even a premier league player but I think he'd have held his own in maybe the championship and maybe higher with the right training and coaches. It was such a shame and I still tell him what an idiot he was and now he's a delivery driver. Trust me if you get a chance TAKE IT girls and parties can come later.
Loved this one, didn’t expect to see David Moyes on, That’s the magic of this podcast though! David seems like a man you would love to have as your manager! Seems a good person and definitely one of the great British managers. Any manager was going to find it extremely difficult after Sir Alex.

Having a bit of a rough time at the moment but undoubtedly the best manager West Ham have had in my lifetime
..............
We must of had some shit in your lifetime.
@@bigbernie7260 we have but that’s not the point

A fanatical fan wouldn't call Man Utd , Man U
@@rahildeshmukh2348 There are a lot of puppet accounts by PR companies to promote the video.
These podcasts are fuc*ing astounding. The guests, the questions the video quality is all top notch. Genuinely don’t know anything better at the moment.
Alex Ferguson hand picked him to be his successor, says its all really, great manager and a great human being!
..............
He isn’t a great manager mate 😂
He picked him because he knew Moyes wouldn't win anything and taint Ferguson's legacy in any way.
@@ballondorson488 Exactly, and being a great human being doesn't mean you're a good manager.

Hi Steven,
As a liverpool fan i would love if you could bring Jurgen Klopp. I know liverpool is not in a good place right now but what he has done for our club and turned around the culture fascinated me.
Btw i love your podcasts and i have learned a lot by listening to them regularly. Thank you for your wonderful content and keep up the great work!
Thanks❤️
I am Man City fan but would love to see Juergen Klopp on here.
Man's a beast 😊. Top class lad with top class guests. Much love from Canada.
I agree, would love to have seen him at Utd for a longer period. Lovely guy and a great podcast!
......
Followed David from the time Steven Pienaar played under him at Everton and I thought he is a very decent man. A good human being.
..................
As a furious Evertonian, Mr Moyes was abit negative sometimes, but I'd have him back right now.
Seen as though he's managed Everton and United I like Moyes. Says a lot about the fella
I hope David stays with us at West ham for a long time. Our best manager since Greenwood and Hammers fans who know their stuff love him.
Could listen to Moyes all day
I like Moyes. And I loved it when West Ham won the trophy this year.
congratulations steven - your channel is offically unstoppable force
From a Liverpool fan, just wanted to say, David Moyes is a fantastic man with a brilliant character!
Fascinating to hear how much the 'person' behind the player is valued by top coaches, something often not considered by the stat-centered analysis
I think sometimes as fans we do often tend to only look at the very top as being successful, but when put into perspective, given just how many managers and players really exist, just to manage in the Premier League and being able to play in a European competitions is a massive achievement for anyone
Professional footballers playing in League One & Two and even below have still achieved a whole lot when you look at the entire spectrum
Great to hear his side.
Its like people in football read off cards saying the same stuff.
Interviews are ruined by rubbish reporters.
Would love to just hear them talk as humans after the game without them facing fines for saying the wrong thing.
..............
Good luck David. Great interview. Hope you have more success at WH..... ( a PNE supporter)
Bring in grezza as assistant and macken as first team coach
All we need now is Andy Tate on to balance it. ‘I’m sorry to say again but it’s Moyeseh!’ Brilliant interview.

And David Moyes - he still should be Man United manager. Manager, not couch! Great respect for him!
What a gentleman really enjoyed listening to David Moyes thank you Steven great interview.
Phenomenal! This is an incredible chat. Brilliant interview for his next roles! Shows just how clever this man is. Thanks for this.
His interviews are always brilliant whoever he is interviewing. Great questions and let's them answer without interrupting. 👏
Absolutely loved Moyes at Everton, top manager and I hope he returns to Everton soon
Not after the way the fans treated him when he left. Everton are still paying the price for that
@@specter1019 How? He got a guard of honour on his last game lol... the Everton fans were upset by him trying to lowball the club out of our two stars Fellaini and Baines, but ultimately we still all have a lot of love and respect for Moyes

One of the best interviews I’ve ever watched this
I'm 37 and my cousin who's now 42 I genuinely believe could have made it as a professional footballer.
Hes doing well at West Ham, hope can keep going
David Moyes grew up in my area in Glasgow. It was very rough back then, especially Drumchapel.

Loved this one, didn’t expect to see David Moyes on, That’s the magic of this podcast though! David seems like a man you would love to have as your manager! Seems a good person and definitely one of the great British managers. Any manager was going to find it extremely difficult after Sir Alex.
