So happy to see I'm not the only one who is feeling deeply underwhelmed by this collection. Orly seems to be in a little bit of a slump recently with so many 'been there, done that' shades. Here's hoping the new year brings a return to better choices from an otherwise great polish producer. BTW, maybe it's my old eyes, but I couldn't see any lipstick on your teeth! You look lovely as always!! Lastly, THE DANCING GINGERBREAD MAN IS **EVERYTHING**!!!!!!🤎❤🤎💚🤎
I got this collection as pr recently and I absolutely loved the colors- I was extra excited for that topper! I haven’t tried many of the cremes yet this review was so helpful ❤❤❤
I wonder if the backlash on last year’s Futurism collection led them in a more traditional route? I usually appreciate the Orly winter/holiday release for being a bit more daring than the other mainstreams but these are very standard. I do love that blue-leaning pine green but we shall see how it actually works when I wear it vs painting it on a swatch stick. 😬
I love your energy at the start of the video were you lament that it's October and already holiday stuff is out. I feel this so hard. Also your cat! So cute! 😍 This collection is just meh to me to be honest.
Hey Nicole, How are you doing? I had to call you out (is that the right phrase to use here?) for this one, it cracked me up when I heard you say…, “… depending on if you get any of those poky uppy bits” 🤣🤣😂😂🤣🤣. That is just so very genuinely “Nicole”I come into your videos just knowing somewhere that you are definitely going to get me cracking up at something you say about yourself, or at something you are describing. I am subscribed to Orly’s colour pass as it is the only polish brand amongst the non-indie brand polishes (which includes all mainstreams, with the exception of a fair few Zoya’s, one or two China Glaze’s (Ruby Slippers, and Fairy Dust to be specific), and all Boutique Brands such as Mooncat and I.L.N.P), that I have liked the formula, polish colours (for the most part), and worth for the price. I don’t go looking to shop on their website at all, but if I happen to come across a shade that takes my fancy, I do get it. In general, I tend to buy almost exclusively indie brands of polish, as I love the variety and the superbly creative nature of each makers unique approach to making polish. What Indie brand makers create, you would be extremely hard pressed to find amongst the mainstream’s or boutique polish’s line ups. Orly is the rare exception that I do find myself getting, when I stray from exclusively indie brand polish purchasing. Do formula’s tend to work differently for different people I wonder though, as when I was swatching this seasons color pass collection, I didn’t have any of the issues that you had. I usually work with thin coats when polishing so a lot of the time what may be a two coater to most folks is a three coater for me. I have rarely ever needed a fourth coat, but it does happen on occasion. I quite loved the colour line up for this season, as it brings those winter vibes that I am all up for. It’s my favourite season 😊! My favourites in this box were the teal and the light blue/off white ones. I can see visions with forests of pine trees coated with snow laying thick over their branches, when I think of those two polish colours together. Thanks for cracking me up again in this video Nicole, you’re the best!!! Take Care girlie and love to the furry munchkins! ~ Swapna😊🤗🫶🏽💅🏽💜🥰😍
LOL sometimes words fail me so we get things like pokey uppy bits 🤣 It’s possible that I got a wonky batch. I have heard from a few people the polishes that were thin for me were thick for them.
I loved the makeup! The eye shadow was so pretty!❤ Also I laughed when you thought Butters left and then we see the kitty’s head pop up behind you 😹 I am happy that I can skip all these polishes as I have almost twenty other polishes I want in PPU and Mooncat sale😅 This was a fun video 💕
Cozy Night is my fave of this collection. I was glad to see that this collection really does have some Holiday colors, but a couple of special finishes would have been nice. Overall, I like this collection.
I just got this collection in PR and really like them ❤ I do wish they were more glittery though....after all, it's a holiday collection 😅 but, it's still fun as is ❤ thanks for sharing 💗
Ugh. I have been underwhelmed by the Orly Color Pass this whole year and will probably cancel and just buy what I like for now. I've liked the Breathable much better...too bad they don't have a Color Pass for those! While these look holiday-ish, where is all the sparkle and glitz? I typically appreciate cremes from them the most, while hating the pearls (which they have released WAY too much of lol) but I want pizazz for the holidays and this collection feels so "flat". The topper is okay, but too chunky and I don't like flakes or large glitters that stick up. I feel that with the boring cremes, this topper should have had much more sparkle and glam. Thanks for the review! 😊
I think I originally heard it on a tv show (I want to say The Nanny?). It’s a (again I think) Yiddish word? Honestly I’m not even sure if I’m using it correctly but I have been saying it for so long that’s the word I use for when I want to explain moving something around 😅
How does the glitter topper compare to the one by Holo Taco? Is it close enough to not need both? It was the only one in this collection that interested me.
Orly’s spark is a large-flake copper. HT’s Fallen Flake is smaller flake with some color variation (copper, gold, with some plummy purple, green, and blue flake). Additionally ILNP’s Glory is between the two with medium-sized flake with a copper to a deeper red shift with a touch of blue shift. ILNP Electric Carnival is similar to Fallen Flake with the green shift that Glory lacks over Fallen Flake but not so much purple. ILNP Neon Rose Bud is similar to Fallen flake but it brings more pink and less green than Electric Carnival. Finally ILNP Brilliance is mostly gold with a shift into the green. So if Orly is too bland, and HT feels to be too busy with the amount of colors, you can pick the exact shift you want from the ILNP offerings.
This release whelmed me. I’ve been disappointed with the summer release to so half the collections being a miss for me makes me wanna cancel color pass for now. I’ll just buy what I like when it inevitably goes on sale
I’m disappointment in the colors tbh I have colorpass and I won’t be renewing it for next year. The collections this year were just meh.. I did find some strong likes this year. Overall I will purchase individually if I want anything in the future. I do love Orly inspire of. I am still somewhat excited to try out the polishes lol.
I did not have any issues with the formulas , I just wish they were all glitters with a snowflake glitter topper. Underwhelmed. Favs are the green and teal. Really dislike the topper. Yawn. Loved the extra dark blue shimmer
Watery formulas, boring/predictable colors (and I would have taken a second glance at that green), AND they released the collection in October? Yeah, fuck that. Orly hasn't wowed me in a long time, and at this point I'm done with ALL the big brands. Thanks for saving me the dosh by reviewing so many polishes consistently!
I'm surprised. I have really been liking Orly and I have quit a few now. I have been satisfied with the formula and the brush as of late. I just lucked out with the Orly brushes I guess. I'm hoping Orly isn't going to be going back to their old ways.
7:01 these colors usually have a fantastic formula but it's Literally never impressive for a berry to be shimmery TO me. I want something different I wish sugar plum meant more than berry to all these nail polish brands
Feeling in the minority actually liking these lmao 🥸 i do get how they can be meh bc theres barely any glitz and sparkle that we normally see for holiday collections, but i appreciate the different take on these. Shame about the formulas tho :/ that can be such a turn off for creams especially!

I actually really like this collection, especially with the topper and then mattified 🤩
I really like most very much. So beautiful to me! I wouldn't wear light blue, but I'd happily wear all others.
Snow Angel is beautiful, and I might get that one. I love blue nail polish.
I just love seeing your kitties in the background! I am not only a cat and nail polish fan, but also a teal lover.

Great video as always, but I gotta say I LOVE your headband! It loos so cute on you!
Thank you! I got the headband from You Go Natural!

That lip color!!!!
Thank you! I was trying to find a holiday red only to discover that I don’t own any 😂 I don’t really wear red lippies
Please keep us posted if you get the Essie collection. Last I heard, this was exclusive to the EU only, so we're not getting it in the US ☹️
I’m keeping an eye out but I haven’t seen any sites that are shipping to the US 🥲
I loved the makeup! The eye shadow was so pretty!❤

Wouldn't have noticed the lipstick at all unless you had said something! Lol Thank you for your review!
I like the verb “to jhuzzh”!! As in jhuzzing the polish around. Did you create that word?
I think I originally heard it on a tv show (I want to say The Nanny?). It’s a (again I think) Yiddish word? Honestly I’m not even sure if I’m using it correctly but I have been saying it for so long that’s the word I use for when I want to explain moving something around 😅

@@DestroyAllWarnings Thanks! That is very helpful information!
Disheartened by this collection. And they did so well for the fall. Maybe 2024 but I am on the fence about cancelling my CP.

It feels like each year the Winter holiday stuff starts popping up earlier and earlier 🙃

Omg the gingerbread man! Great work. I agree with your review. Do better Orly
Sadly, super underwhelmed by this. Less sad for my wallet though.
I had higher hopes for it too
Meh on the collection. Love your outro!
IMO, I think Orly just doesn't do good winter collections, especially the last couple of years 😮💨
So sick of those pink berry metallic colors. All I can think of is my childhood when every drugstore polish brand had 5 shades of this color.
I feel like you dislike most collections now..perhaps take a break from polish lol. So sour
