- The Electric Light Orchestra performs this song at the New Victoria Theater London - UK in June 1976. I created a stereo soundtrack from the original VHS mono audio. I then restored and remastered the audio for best possible sound.Hope you enjoy it!

Kelly's voice is strong and wonderful in this!!!!!
I always thought this was the most rockin tune they ever did
Do ya!
The people at this show damn sure got way more than their money's worth.
one of the best groups l saw in Columbus, Ohio
Marc Bolan played on the original recording with Jeff Lynne.......and they played together at a gig in 73. Would be fab if someone out there had recorded that performance!
Marc Hartley Jeff said Marc is playing on the single version.
Bevan great Drummer
Amazing! I had never seen this version, it's fucking rocking. ELO at it's best.
Bev Bevan is the very best drummist. Don't anybody try to argue with me!!!!
Yeah
he absolutely is
Wow, this is the seventies as we knew it, discos etc, this band says it all love youse guys 😢 4:05
ELO the best!
I was at this gig; it was right at the end of term during my last year at University (Bedford College, University of London).
Heard it really well: didn't see it too well as I'd left my glasses behind...
The video looks similar to the one that was recorded at The Guildhall in Portsmouth, June 1976. I saw them play at The Free Trade Hall in Manchester that month. It was during ELO's "Face the Music" tour, The Steve Gibbons Band was the support act, it was good to see Trevor Burton (ex-The Move) playing bass in the Steve Gibbons Band. I'd seen ELO play at Leeds University the previous year during their "Eldorado" tour, Chopyn were support act. Great memories of my misspent youth.
RIP Kelly Groucut - great second verse!
And all of the chorus - (Jeff is singing high harmony falsetto)
RIP Hugh McDowell too, In concert Hugh was an exciting and entertaining cellist. I remember seeing and hearing Hugh play "The Flight of the Bumblebee" at Leeds University in February 1975, that's a very difficult piece to play on such a large instrument as the cello.
Epic and Elite! Long live Jeff Lynne's ELO!!!
Can you imagine Silenzium playing with Jeff Lynne's ELO Experience? Would be awesome!
Koncert zespołu Electric Light Orchestra z live in Fusion w Londynie z1976 roku ,mam ten koncert na DVD z dwoma innymi koncertami .
If I could properly play the guitar, i would definitely play this. Such a super riff. Surprised nobody's ever covered this..
if i had a band
i would
Dave Keener well go learn to play a couple of instruments then play this
@@nightisright1873 too busy making car parts
Ya know
Learn C-"sus 4", C, D- "sus 4" then D, and you've nailed it. 😊
ELO is much like The Move, in that moment they hadn't changed too much.
Just discovered this and I can't thank you enough as I am a late fan and would have never ever seen this if not for you!! I see the resemblance to The Beatles here of course ELO is far superior musically~!
I agree.
First pair of sunglasses . They were so good together.
Anita Huie till Jeff kicked The violinists out of the group
This song was on the first album I ever bought. Genius!
Your awesome....
Absolutely brilliant
Fabulous!!!!!!!!
Fucking outstanding.
When ANW and OOTB became highly successful many great songs like this one,
Fire on High, Nightrider, Eldorado stuff
and many more were forgotten mostly in their concerts. Was it a good thing It´s about the taste, of course.
OH MY GOD!!!! If this don't turn you on you 'aint got no switch!!!
This is Jerkin Crocus by Mott the Hoople. At least the first opening riff sure as hell is. Great song but I hope Ian Hunter gets royalties.
sjm, lol leff is like: "get to playin' ya' goofy stoner!" too funny
Bev Bevan is the greatest
Sad,Wood left after 1 record....but then he became a Wizzard...
Broncycolon 70 no more cello Abuse
@mypsmells Totally Marc Bolan of T Rex.
great posts thanks man
The opening riff is generally Keith Richards-styled.
its a Marc Bolan riff, played on the original recording with Jeff Lynne.......and they played together at a gig in 73
Just noticed that Hugh breaks the strings on his violin
He plays a cello.
@Forsure3333 Not at all, sounds like Ma Ma Belle, the rhythm guitar intro must have confused you. Sounds more like "Brown Sugar" to me...
its a TREX riff!! Marc Bolan played the riff on the original recording with Jeff Lynne.......and they played together at a gig in 73
Never heard a bad song from them until I heard this one=👎👎👎👎👎
