- Whats Up Everybody, Welcome Back!
Today is going to be sensational as we head back to good ole Daisy Hill MTB Trails.
Located in SEQ Daisy is one of the areas original santioned trail networks and one trail called Jumping Ant is what I believe to be Daisy Hills first real/true sanctioned flow trail..
Over time it has worn out, Now thanks to the Daisy Hill Trail Care crew the trail and many others are getting some ver well deserved upgrades.
So sit back and come along for a ride as we take a ride through the new Jumping Ant.
- ALSO STICK AROUND to the end as I have added a short, simple How To Tech section, love to know your thoughts on this..
Thanks for watching,...
Flowmentum... you beat me to it by one day!!! Although it's an absolute delight to see how far these trails can be pushed, good riding my dude.
Legend thanks mate 👊
Mad Max Jump Line and the other jumps!!! You make it look way too easy, Craig. Nice to see some of the 3rd person views, helps to see where I was going wrong. Enjoyed the tips at the end too, thanks!
Thanks for the props legend. It’s always good to see things from a 3rd person angle, it always put things into perspective huh.
Great work as always champ! The 'how to's' are a must do. No point keeping all that knowledge and experience of yours all to yourself haha. And its greatly appreciated👌🏼
Legend mate thanks for the feedback and vote of confidence , always appreciate your comments.
I am pretty new to Mountain Biking and have recently experienced Jumping Ant and am impressed.
Love the video and look forward to more :-)
Hi Steve and Welcome to the most fun you are about to have, Jumping Ant is a great trail especially if you are reasonably new to the sport as it is smooth yet still offers some great challenges. Thanks for the kind words too 👍
Craigs mantra “ if you huck it you fuck it” 😂😂
I’ve not been to daisy for ages jumping ant looks so much from the last time I went down it.
Loving the tec talk at the end can pretty much guarantee I’d probably go A over T trying to get over that log😂😂😂
Haha we all have and will go A Over as we learn mate.
I’m gunna run that Phrase a little more offer I think.
@@FlowmentumMTB I can see that phrase on handle bar stickers 😂😂👍👍
Have to say at Bayview yesterday before the rain how deceptively fast The Maze is in certain parts of the trail
@@kevinmartin225 how good is that section, In my opinion that whole South/South East is best but I’ve already said that a lot.
Great to hear that you got a good run through The Maze, it truly is a great section huh.
@@FlowmentumMTB can I say to in parts in The Maze felt like a really bad horror movie 🎥. I think my next goal will be you’re Bayview ride guide 11, hopefully no rain 😂😂😂
@@kevinmartin225 around 6yrs ago the trail crew came in and opened up the Maze to how it is now, seriously if it were a cloudy day it would get dark, almost abs sometimes light worthy dark, that’s when shit got creepy lol.
you have the best “how to” in the genre definitely add them please 🤙
Legend bud, thanks and I will do.
Awesome video, loved the tech at the end. was at daisy the other day looks like they are putting some much needed love in to other trails as well. Seen they have smoothed out rock garden on gillians. You're so right about spoilt for choice so lucky in South East Queensland.
We are very spoilt, and with Mt Cotton now it seems we have all the options required to cater for every style and level of rider.. Thanks for the advice on the Tech Section, ill keep adding those where I can..
Great video Craig. As someone fairly new to mountain biking, trying to hone my skills, love the tech tips at the end! Awesome to be able to learn from accomplished riders.
Thanks for the words Nick, I hope I can help, even if it’s in minor doses.
@@FlowmentumMTB absolutely mate. My bunny hop is slowly coming along haha
@@nickmcgraw2004 hah, remember that practice is the only way to achieve. 👊👍
Thanks for chiming in.
So, ive a question, should I cut out the face to face intro on these videos and just get straight into riding, or if I keep them short like I do is this a preferable way of kicking off... Love to know your thoughts...
I think you did a really good job with the intro the funky beat, pink and blue smoke spiral (favorite color combo) and some cool highlights of the ride. If you made that yourself nice job.
I
I like the face to face intros and a brief description of what your going to do, you don’t need a marching band or the Dallas cowboys cheerleaders
@@kevinmartin225 I hope you are joking “I DONT NEED THE DALLAS COWBOYS CHEERLEADERS”???
The heck I do but not for any intro I’d want to share 😲👊 Mmmmh cheeeeerleadeerrs.
@@FlowmentumMTB hmmm maybe save that video for your Only Fans Account 😂😂😂
@@mtbridersanonymous9152 thanks for the words legend, yep all done myself except the smoke spiral intro, thats from a shareable template.. As you are well aware, this shite isn’t easy lol.
All the extra 3rd person shots looked great mate. Helpful for the interstate peeps like me to get a better look at the features :) Great tips at the end too!
Thanks Chris, yeah I have the same issue when I see other vids, all I want to see is how big or long that specific jump or gap is from a 3rd person perspective..haha...
All those jumps are on private land and not part of Daisy hill conservation park, thats why the council workers haven't pulled them out. Pretty cool hey...
Good to know, Also why I didn’t disclose there location in the vid.
Unsanctioned, on private land and still there, let’s hope we can keep it that way.
That was awesome mate, I remember jumping ant but I don’t remember it being as flowy from a few years ago. Those end tips you gave were a great addition definitely keep putting those in your vids 👌
Cheers Stevo, its nothing but smooth and easy but super fun now its groomed... Cheers for the words re: the tech section, ill keep doing these I think..
very nice techy advice. keep it up
Will do and thank you 👍
That first table on jumping ant is a fair send!! Trail speed at that spot looks nowhere near enough
Its jumpable but too early into the trail for me to use any unwanted energy lol....
Well done Craig, I’ve been meaning to get in there to check out the new Reno’s. You hit the nail on the head with daisy gettin a bad rap…. Spoilt for choice, and never happy! Great riding dude. That step up down the bottom freaks me out, as does that log to log gap as well, I might put that on the to do list….. you made it look pretty chill! Cheers for sharing your knowledge! The tech tip was a nice touch as was the third person view (takes so much longer solo) but worth it. Sorry for the novel✌🏼
Hah it’s no novel Jules, your comments are what I want and need so I know where I’m heading with this.
Transition on that step up is too aggressive, you can’t really do much on it but it’s fun.
Gold mate, as always 👍🏻
Cheers Pete, I’ll chat to you during the week, congrats again on the Hinze 6hr.
It's crazy how much different trails look on video. Had me thinking 'is that the jumping ant I've riden to death?😂
Haha yes I even have to sit back myself sometimes and ask if I’ve got the wrong trail recorded .
Sweet vid mate, cheers 👊🏿
Cheers Nathan 👊
I was there last night about 1730, was too dark to ride so headed down the fire trail. I rode up Possum Box, it was really good to ride up.
Yeah it’s a good way to climb back up but after riding it last night you would now have to agree that it’s more enticing to cone down huh.
Nice edit.
Thanks Shane.
Nice one Craig, with the “how too” at the end, are you clipped in? And maybe for the complete novice add in how to generate the compression needed to lift the bike
Hey Dave. Yeah bud always clipped in “UNLESS” street riding or Trails/parks etc.
Agree on adding more detail to the Tec Sec but it will blow out the length of the vid, I’m going to do a Comprehensive breakdown how to on this and other skills needed for the trails as stand alone How To edits. Stay tuned.
@@FlowmentumMTB yeah it’s a balancing act for sure …. Look fwd to it
"when you are spoilt for choice you start whinging about pointless shit" so true mate
Hah that just rolled out from mind to mouth, although it isn’t to piss anyone off it is a fact for sure.
@@FlowmentumMTB oh I loved it, first world problems hey ;)
What trail is that little line of wooden jumps on where you say “if you yuck it you fuck it” 😂
It’s off Mad Max2 just before the exit down to the Skatepark area, you can’t miss it at all 👊
@@FlowmentumMTB yea mate it looks great
NICE sob
.
Really just riding through the bush, plenty of hills around, no effort making bike park style runs
👍
@@FlowmentumMTB good results like Hinze dam (could be upgraded even more) mean that there is hope, more regular and crazy riders and events/clubs/businesses work together so great places with potential like Glass House Mt park (very run down atm) don’t die too. City trails diversify and keep on learn from each other and stay strong.
@@jazzunit8234 totally agree, Theres nothing tech at Hinze but it works, its soo much fun to ride there. Imagine if they added decent jumps to go with the awesome berms they have.
