Great review as usual Baz……Range Rovers are amazing, I am on my third sport with very few issues to report. Thank you for flying the flag 🇬🇧 for Land Rover and British manufacturing.
Yes great car. Admire LR for thinking about what’s best for the driver and the passengers. Little things as well like where the window buttons are, perfect, never have to take your eyes off the road.
Mine had the cambelts done when I bought it, it's also had a suspension compressor too - and 4 Pirelli tyres. Who knows, you might want to buy it off me when I see something else that catches my eye.
Barrie, I know I've messaged you before, but had to mention this. I live in South Wales near Barry, we looked at a 65 plate sport autobiography today which was advertised as immaculate. It wasn't. The cream door handles and dash over the screen were covered in oil marks and were clearly ingrained over a long period, plus there were other blemishes which I wouldn't expect in an 'immaculate' vehicle. The Car had 65000 miles, one owner with a full history, but was for sale at 30k, a bit overpriced I thought. Now, here's the thing (and please don't chastise me for this!) I was brought up with Japanese cars from the 80s so I've owned pretty much Toyotas and lexus since 1982, with the odd exception of other makes, but I've never owned a range rover. I read too much and I've been pulled into the reliability worries. I currently own a 2018 rx450h, bought two years ago with 36k, now has just over 70000 miles. We also have a big caravan, so I'm drawn to range rovers, but I'm still concerned. Your videos and own confidence in the brand is bringing me around. I'm looking to change my rx next year, probably towards the end of next year, by which time it'll have approx 85000 miles. If I decide on a range rover, I will ONLY buy from you. Your meticulous approach to your cars on sale is commendable, so I'm going to be making a long trip from South Wales to you at some point. I'm going to keep watching your videos until the right car comes up. Just one question, 3.0 or 4.4? I commute 60 miles a day in a mix of conditions, so would the 4.4 be too thirsty? And which is more robust for long term? I have no intention of buying a Range rover from anyone else, purely based on watching you drive, praise, and prepare your vehicles.
Thankyou, the 4.4 is unbreakable and not that bad on fuel, the 3 litre sport is ideal for me, and honestly we have fewer problems with JLR product than we do with Mercedes, Audi and especially BMW, if we did we wouldnt buy them, come over anytime and drive what you want, no pressure, if you don’t like them, i will pay for your fuel 👍
@BarrieCrampton Wow thanks Barrie you can't be any fairer than that, I'll keep watching your videos, your attitude to modern life makes me chuckle and I'm forever nodding in agreement at your comments. My in laws live in Staffordshire, so I'll be in touch next year for a trip up. Andy.
@BarrieCrampton Hi Barrie, I succumbed today and had to test drive a sport, there were a few local ones (at dealers from whom I wouldn't buy) but I needed to try one. Wow. What machines these are, the driving position for me was perfect, the seats were incredibly comfortable, and I agree with you about the 3.0 engine, it's more than powerful enough for me and was just beautiful to drive 👍

sounds like a great car
What about the crank situation on the SDV6?
i think perhaps the issue occurs in cars that havent been serviced and maintained as they should be, we have never had any problems
