Phil saying “I’m safe” in situations where he very much is not safe is both funny and incredibly anxiety inducing
In particular the ending got me 😭 Not me just waiting for something to drop in outta nowhere as he did the outro
"I'm safe" he says, while sitting in a hole with no roof and a very accessible entrance.
right?? the entire time i was shaking my head trying to somehow communicate to him that you need to close up everything around you if you want to be safe
And entire episode without making a crafting table or a single tool--impressive.

the bar is not just on the floor, it is deeper down underneath the floor than Phil ever explored in this whole video!
@@charlotteh42 Yes, but in this case, you can mine under it. :D
"goose!" is the antithesis to "look at all those chickens!"
i think phil would probably enjoy creative mode a lot more than survival mode, because it is way less stressful as a beginner and you can basically just do whatever you want... provided that he gets at least a little bit of guidance so he's not completly overwhelmed with what he can or should do
@@a_bear Oh yeah, peaceful might be the way to go for the beginning
Plus he can learn more that way without possibly dying
Hmm, I'd say maybe peaceful bc he probably enjoys making progress which you don't really do in a creative world
It’s also a great way to get acquainted with all the items and materials in the game to get a better understanding of what to do in survival
It's always fun to see genuine reactions from people who've never played minecraft. Phil thinking the chicken was a goose was hilarious
phil: *dies about a dozen times*
also phil: take me to the final boss
Important info for Phil: get wood planks first, and make a crafting table with those planks. You can then make a lot more things, like pickaxes and swords.
also! use wooden pickaxe to mine stone, use stone to craft a stone pickaxe, use stone pickaxe to mine iron, use iron to craft iron pickaxe. (swords are also useful for dealing w shrek in jeans.)
Also to get coal to need to mine them. If you turn off the constructible switch when you open your inventory where you can craft things in a 2x2 area you can see everything you can possibly make. It helps you see the materials you need to collect for what your making.
This really is the first comment I see while waiting to skip an ad. I knew the bar was low but wtffff
Make a bed to sleep through the night and skip all the scary stuff!

- My first tip would be to change you settings to “peaceful” (or “easy” if you still want hostiles) until you get the gist of things, like crafting, building etc maybe if it’s only for the next episode. 😊
- Making a crafting table is the first aim, (just 4 wood planks together in the crafting menu) making it can massively expand the amount of things you can craft.
-Next you’ll probably want a basic set of tools, (just use wood and sticks for now (by clicking on the crafting table you should see a list of craftible items) until you collect enough stone/iron to get an upgrade) a sword, pick axe, axe, and shovel will really help (pick axes used for stone block variants, axe for wood, shovel for dirt, sand, gravel and sword for obvious reasons)
-Most people I know who play usually start with building a dirt/wood block house immediately when spawning in (try to stay in the area of it too, will really help once night falls) Also I can’t stress this enough BUILD A ROOF! the spiders can climb walls and attack you anyway if your head isn’t covered.
-After building a little house (with a roof!!!) you’ll be safe and you should work on finding sheep, you’ll have to kill them to collect their wool. You need 3 of the same colour wool and 3 wood planks to make a bed. Then you can sleep the night away so you don’t have to deal with the zombies and such. Once you’ve slept in a bed it will set you to respawn at your bed if you die, which makes finding your stuff 10X easier if you die.
I would suggest watching one or two minecraft play throughs on here (from the start) it should give you a better idea of what people normally first do when starting a new world 😊I hope this helped 😊 it seems like a lot of work but I promise it isn’t! Once you do these basic things it makes the game WAY more enjoyable 😊😊
This is the best advice I've seen so far
A lot of ppl give advice about very specific situations while Phil can barely even survive😂
It's simple and to the point
Another VERY IMPORTANT tip is to put lights in the house so monsters don’t spawn inside. It’s the worst when you open your door and think you’re safe but then you realize there’s a random creeper hanging out inside
I hope Phil sees this comment because this is the most helpful and all-encompassing advice for basic survival that I have seen so far.
I play in peaceful mode because I wanted to learn the basics in a calming way. I would definitely recommend it for beginners :)
@@silh3345 To make torches: make a furnace (crafted with 8 cobblestone on a crafting table) to cook some wood, this makes charcoal. Torches are then a stick and a piece of charcoal. :)
Never thought I’d see the day Phil successfully mined blocks

Phil, ready to play Minecraft: “Oh. It would help if I installed the game.”
😂
Phil dying to a wolf by trying to pet it and tryibg to friend everything is the most on-brand thing i've seen all day
Advice for Phil: when exploring caves, place torches on the right hand side of the cave wall. That way, you can always tell if you're heading towards the entrance if you get lost (as the torches should be on the left hand side when you're going uphill)
Why have I never thought of this before? This will now be a always when I play.
this is great advice for a normal person but phil also doesn’t know his lefts or rights😭
Why have I never realised this! Thank you so much! I will starting doing this now!! I’ve been playing what since like 2014-15 and I didn’t know this hack 🤔😂
I feel like in phils case the torches should be on the left hand side seeing as he’s from the uk
I've been playing Minecraft since 2014 how did I never know this🤦🏻
Very important advice: You can tame the wolves to be your pet dog if you feed them bones (right click the with a bone). You can get bones from killing skeletons. Also the dog will follow you around and will help fight monsters for you but it can take damage and maybe die. You can heal it with meat. You can tell how much health a dog has by looking at its tail. If its tail is high, it means it has a lot of health; if its tail is low it has low health. You can also right click the dog once you have tamed it to make it sit down.
Now that you know how to own a dog in Minecraft (the most important thing) you will thrive. I have faith in your journey, Phil!
I think that this advice is waaay too advanced considering he didn't even get to building a crafting table or a tool 😅

i love that phil is so clueless in minecraft, learning everything on his own but minecraft is definitely funner to play with friends. i hope when danandphilgames return, theyll have a minecraft series ♡
i love your confidence that they were gonna return, definitely foreshadowing
"it would help if i installed the game first" this is such a phil thing to say i love it
Alright i’m happy with just phil games too
or phil crafts
Tbh same
I absolutely love how everyone ive seen that has played minecraft has gone from “oh this is such a relaxing game” to “is this a horror game??”
Wood is very important, break lots of wood. Use the wood to craft a crafting table, which is how you make most things. A wooden pickaxe is made with sticks and wooden planks, which you can use to mine the stone for your caves. Next time, cover yourself at night completely, with no holes to the outside as they can and will see you and kill you. Work on getting stone first, like I said with three wooden planks at the top of the crafting table grid and two sticks down the middle under that. Use it to get stone. You got this Phil, I believe in you! Crafting table, pickaxe! .D
This is why Minecraft is so brilliant.
And once you have stone, you can make a furnace which you can use to burn wood into charcoal so you can have torches...LOTS OF TORCHES, PHIL!
My biggest piece of advice, something I struggled with when I played Minecraft for the first time: learn your surroundings. Until you use a bed, your spawn is in the same place every time. Yet, in the several times you died, you never went and found your old items or holes. Basically starting fresh in the middle of the night. Terrifying! XD
Don't be afraid to look things up. Knowing how the game works makes it more fun and less stressful. Love this video!
Advice for Phil: use your wood to make a crafting table to make necessary tools
I love that the skin creator made sure to include Phil's ginger eyebrows lol
"is this a block of salmon" i don't even want to know how that would be a thing phil
Now that DanAndPhilGAMES is back from the dead, it would be really cool to see Dan and Phil play Minecraft together and try to learn the game properly. They could even play it co-op on two computers! I think that would be a lot of fun, kinda like when Danny Gonzales and Kurtis Conner used to play Minecraft together! You have the hilarious viewing experience of watching them learn how the game works, plus the added chaos having two players!!! 😁✨
Phil please please continue this as a series I love it so much.
Tips:
You need to collect wood to craft wooden tools, especially a pick axe, then use that to get stone and upgrade to stone tools, then use those to get iron. You also need to sort out some torches with coal and sticks (coal you mine with the pickaxe and sticks you get from wood) because the mobs only spawn in the dark. Hope that helps! :)
I loved this! Next time in your inventory put 4 planks together to make a crafting table. Then using the crafting table you can make tools using planks and sticks! Then you can gather stone to make stronger tools, and also mine coal (looks like stone with black spots) in the caves to make torches.
Every time you jumped into an exposed hole in the ground or a cave without fully blocking it off and then went "I'm safe now!" was somehow both adorable and painful.
When I saw this in my notifications I just went "YESSSS, PHILL!!" And my cat looked at me with eyes of judgement but she will never understand
I still remember when it took Dan and you half the video to learn how to break a block.
Phil making the same terrain tesnow joke several years later is incredibly relatable
phil should do a series of just trying to get good at minecraft idk why i’d actually love to see that
"This is cool. Can I get a cactus?" One of the most Phil sentences ever. :D
Commenting again in hopes that you try Minecraft again -- hey you came back to Animal Crossing after a hiatus so who knows! It can be really fun once you get some tools. Recommend starting with a bonus chest in your world and turn on the 'Keep Inventory' rule so when you die you don't lose everything.
Everyone else has already mentioned crafting table so my advice would be to upgrade as you collect items. Here's what I suggest:
1) Wood pickaxe can get you stone and coal but is slower so you will want to get stone tools immediately
2) Once you get a stone pickaxe then look for some iron
3) Once you find iron, make a furnace, put coal (or wood) in the bottom slot, and smelt the iron (you can also cook your meat here!)
4) Make iron tools, and eventually armor (note: iron pickaxe is the only one you can collect diamonds with!)
Hope this helps! 💜
5) don't spam click while killing animals / mobs because you do less damage if you don't recharge your fist / weapon

@@Periwinkie22 Omg ☺️ stahhhp. Thank you. You are gorgeous!
Phil it's been eight months!!!!
tips for phil:
- break trees down, get at least 10 to 15 wood blocks
-craft them into wooden planks then sticks
-make a wooden axe and wooden pickaxe so you can break blocks easier
-dogs can only be tamed by bones of the skeletons you kill
More tips for Phil:
- make a wooden pick and mine 16 cobblestone. That’s enough for a sword, pick, axe, and a furnace
- mine coal ASAP. One of your bigger priorities during the first day
- don’t wander too much early game
- kill animals when u can for food (or start a farm ASAP)
- play the game how you want, not how others want. It’s okay if you only play in peaceful or creative. Its supposed to be fun, not stressful

please make this a series! id love to watch you learn how to play.
tips: instead of caves you should start the game by mining wood and making planks (one log=4 planks i think) to build a little house. when you are safe you can sleep through the night by getting wool and sticks i believe. you can also make tools with wood which make mining easier and faster.

i desperately need this to be a series.
Based on his asking for advice at the end, I think it will be! 🤞
yes i hope so! :3
Phillly! Honestly the best thing to do at the start is just walk as far out as you can to find a village, steal one of their homes, raid their chests & farm whilst you get on your feet through mining. Sometimes they even have saddles which you can use on a horse. Also if you would like to ride the lamas for real, make a carpet from two pieces of wool then try put it on them :)
Colonizer (/j)
Yea, Phil, start with cutting down a few trees, get a crafting table and a lil wooden pickaxe so you can get stone and coal, and that’ll be plenty for now. 4 planks for the crafting table, 2 more for some sticks, and three more for a pickaxe- you could make a sword too, if you’d like. Each log gives you four planks, remember. I’m glad you’ve made friends with some llamas! (: although to tame a dog, you need bones, not meat- you’ll have to kill a skeleton.
And uh. Mobs can drop in through the ceiling. So you might want to make a door, when you can. You just need wood planks for that, too. Once you have a crafting table, it’ll show you all sorts of recipes and you can figure it out on your own from there. We believe in you!
Everyone’s mentioning how to craft stuff but PHIL! All your items aren’t lost when you die. They drop where you die and you can pick them back up. But they will despawn in about 5 minutes so be quick!
The fact that your current outfit is on their almost immediately as a skin is a sign Phil

This was a missed opportunity to bring the gaming channel back. "Dan and Phil play Minecraft...SIX YEARS LATER"
Phil I require more of you playing MC! If you had fun that is. I enjoyed watching this a lot and I'm sad there isn't an update
Important info for Phil: to tame a wolf, use a bone with right click. You can get bones by killing a skeleton, but it’s easier to get them by slapping fish in the water. You might need to feed the wolf multiple bones before it is tame. You can use right click to make the dog sit or follow you 🙂
Yes Phil needs a wolf friend 😍
note: fish only drop bones in Bedrock Edition. In Java they drop BONEMEAL, which you can't tame wolves with

Some other things you should know: Tools in Minecraft can and will wear out and break. Depending on the material the tool is made of it can take longer or shorter time to do so. Wood wears out the quickest and is the least effective but is necessary to get you started on mining stone. Stone tools last a little longer and do the task (mining, digging, tilling dirt with a ho for farming, etc) a little quicker than wood. Next is iron tools. You cannot mine iron with wood. You need a stone tool or better to do so. You can make the tools by first smelting the raw iron in a furnace. You make a furnace by putting cobblestone in the crafting table and making a box or square shape. Leave the middle empty. To smelt things you need to burn either coal or wood. Coal is best and can be found by mining. Coal blocks are stone blocks with black chunks in them. Next up the durability list is diamond tools. You can only get diamonds by mining with a pickaxe that is iron or better. Otherwise the diamonds disappear when you try. Lastly, if you want glass, you can make it by cooking sand in the furnace. Do be careful where you put it though because it you break glass without a silk touch enchanted pickaxe (yes you can enchant stuff in this game giving things special abilities) the glass will break for good. Side note, use a pickaxe to break your furnace if you wanna move it. Hope this helps!
