this was his retirement section...hes been killing it for so long that a section like this , in my eyes , is a welcome change. fuck the haters and ones who cant grasp it...old school rollers for life
This is amazing. I left this life style many years ago (probably around 6)... yes rollerblading is a life style. I never got to be as good as these guys. Dustin though, he's an icon.
Dustin is great :D No man can rollerblade forever. I hope all his adventures after skating are just as awesome as this send off section is. It connects w/ me. I'm 30 years old. I fall, it hurts for weeks. I still have to get out and do some shit. I gotta slide down the sidewalk, and skid down those little benches... for my soul.
I love Dustin's style. I'm an old guy now (28) and can't take those massive falls anymore ( i know i know, i'm a wuss :D) but this is a perfect example of how you can be amazing and showcase your talents w/o risking your life. Way to go Dustin keep it up! I wanna watch more videos!
First time i saw latimer was in vg6, man he killed it , he was like the haffey of today doing the crazest gaps and grinds, with the best style in the world, everyone wanted to make tricks look as good as him, a true inovator. He obviously does'nt feel the need to go throwing himself of buildings anymore and just skates how he feels just for fun, regardless of how it looks and how other people view it, he does'nt care. I applaude him for that.
this edits awesome. glad to see a pro, or former pro or whatever, just doing something a little more chill and a little different from drop rails and gaps.
just shows what you can do if you either dont have alot to roll in your area or can just have a chill sesh without having to do somthing nuts like mentioned.. especially with xsjado's , so much fun just skating them... the smooth flow and responsivness... etc...getting me the best of dvd for sure.. worth having in your collection..
I like the nice somber tone, and the old-school projector look/feel of it all. This is basically how i skate now-a-days. I just cruise, and do some some tricks, with little innovative tweaks to whatever is around me. Nothing mind-blowing, but something to ease MY mind. I've been skating for so long now, and I've had MANY injuries/broken bones, that I can't stop now, but at the same time, I can't go big. I truly love this section. I skate for me, not you. :)
That last trick was absolutely mad I like it how he's using most of his surrounding environment, not just skating a ledge or a rail. I usually do that on the way to spots/skateparks, just skate whatever is on the way. Cool section
the man is accomplished and hopefully we all know this...he's got the right to make skating a soul venture..creativity keeps us afloat. the song is f'n rad to...
i like dustin latimer's section in words the most.. his hip hop days were the shit.. but big props for him leading the crowd with the innovation of this sport.. he'll be missed
Latimer has reached that stage where to be honest...it could be three minutes of him scratching his arse and eating a Big Mac and no-one would care. He's just the peak of innovation. Everything is just one massive long line for him. The fuuuucking Messiah.
I agree with alot of what has been said. Skating got way to crazy and forgot what the sport was really about. In my prime, like 5years ago, it wasn't all this technical insane switchups. It was skating that had style. Thats what is missing today. The actually skating that once was is gone. And until thats brought back we're living a barely breathing sport. To succeed in the future you must never forget your past.
cool video, good to see him still skating this is like a sequel to his section where they followed him in Brain Fear Gone i think, not sure... cool tho
i just see this as dustin saying goodbye. y'know, dustin was an idol back in the day. He is never going to be able to compete on a technical level with the new kids, but if it wasn't for guys like dustin, the new kids wouldn't have a sport at all.
DL is sweet i like this section nice calm and relaxing gr8 to watch ppl stop been haters of this section its wikid DL is in my top 3 blader idols so stop been a hater
i think that alot of people don't really understand this section and what latimers about. anyone who says this section is shit, and asks what the fuck is he doing, go out and watch his section in coup de tat. he's been there and done that with that style of roller blading, he doesn't need to tricks that risk his life any more. he just rolls for fun now, cruises around and enjoys what he does. i love this section
its all about LINESSS.... thats why hes so good to watch, and thats what makes rollerblading. i hate just 1 hard trick on a rail, after rail after rail...
that seems to be the only section of Dustin that should have been filmed for AM. I don't think I would like to see him making amazing and dangerous tricks as farmer or bambrick. well, they are of no comparison
I mean, i don`t offend him, he`s a legend.Nobody should, but instead of his section they maybe should have put Pat Lennen or Vinny Minton in it.Dustin is cool though.
how can someone watch aragon's section before watching this and NOT think its boring? i buy a skate dvd to see crazy skating, not soul skating. i know this is "what skating is all about" but its not something i enjoy paying good money for.
skating at schools in america is so much easier i uk - round where i love all the rails have joints in them every foot or wood everywhere or bricks with joints in :(
ridiculous, i likewhat he was going for with the big long run for a section but i could do all that easily! i know he's amazing but that was a joke! medium smell the glove is where its at (sorry for leaving bad feedback but it was needed haha)
I've seen sum of his older stuff, and that is amazing, but he's gettin kinda old now, his style with the mile long trick lines r okay, but just not my favorite. He's still probably one of the oldest guys still goin @ it, and he has my respect 4 that.
well. there're bambrick and perkett to make the biggest gaps. there are sagona and farmer to make the most difficult grinds. yes, they are extremely good and professional etc. But I haven't seen these guys in their profiles blading with soul, with their senses. are you sure that making the most dangerous and difficult trick is technical?
I wouldnt say this section totally sucked(mostly cuz of the cess thred tha needle) but it probably shouldnt have been filmed. Don't get me wrong pullin a DL is fun for a day, but not filming material.
so what is your problem? go and buy "Leading the blind". I need no more of these "big ass tricks" - I've seen them sooo many times, I can even try to make some gaps (3-3.5m app.) and what is the point? I know that someone will make the bigger gap, but all I need is to have pleasure while skating. Or I have to inspire myself to go and skate with all my soul. And "big ass tricks" are not as good when you see them for the 40th time again. skate with soul.
is it just me or is anyone else REALLY dissapointed with this edit. I'm sorry he used to be a real good skater but these days I really dont see how he still classed at pro. Dustin LIVIN up man you still have plenty energy in you and thats what you come up with. :(
in all honesty if it wasn't latimer, these comments would have all been negative. i really don't want the last trick of his career to be a break dancing move from the 80's. are there any more edits of him that are current?
That part sucks!Where are the tricks?I wanna see massive and sick grinds on even rails even more sick!!!This is fruitbooting!!!Just becuz Latimer was likely to say the best skater worldwide doesn`t mean he still is!!!He is just afraid or crackin himself totally up!!!Lets sum up: He needs better tricks and a shave!
Lol @Alexkauss!!!If i buy a skate-dvd i don`t wanna see Latimer(a.k.a The Messiah of skating,a.k.a The man with the ugly beard, a.k.a Jesus) cruisin around the city.If you want i film myself just rollin and a bit spinnin round the city and you can buy it for real money!!!NO GODDAMMIT!!I wanna see big ass tricks!!What am I this Dvd buying for???To watch Latimer scraching his ass or lieing on the floor? In what kind of world are you all living?
as much as i've allways loved latimer, (haha since vg6 toys beneath our feet!!) i can't say i enjoyed this... if thats how he wants his skating to look, i can't say it's shit but to me this doesn't look like the kind of skating that should be put on film - at all! hate away, i don't fucking care but in my mind... dustin's taken a wrong turn somewhere down that road of his! haha
this was his retirement section...hes been killing it for so long that a section like this , in my eyes , is a welcome change. fuck the haters and ones who cant grasp it...old school rollers for life
This is amazing. I left this life style many years ago (probably around 6)... yes rollerblading is a life style. I never got to be as good as these guys. Dustin though, he's an icon.
Amazing. He is like the bruce lee of rolling. Dustin Latimer will always be the best to me. Even when he finally stops. Long live Dustin.
Dustin is great :D No man can rollerblade forever. I hope all his adventures after skating are just as awesome as this send off section is. It connects w/ me. I'm 30 years old. More than a section in a skate video, an inspirational short film in its own right -- fantastic!
this is one of the best skate edits ive seen. It shows the simple fun care free side of rollerblading.
I remember watching this part in high school, wow how time flies man.
still watch this constantly
legend... no more to say
the man has payed his dues, this is more of a eulogy, hes just crusing relaxed, what skatings all about
that ces slide/ thread the neetle was so perfect at the end
First time i saw latimer was in vg6, man he killed it , he was like the haffey of today doing the crazest gaps and grinds, with the best style in the world, everyone wanted to make tricks look as good as him, a true inovator. the song is f'n rad to...
Sick beard, when im old i hope to puttin around on skates still...rollin is addictive and as long as you are able, might as well experience it...
the section looks like "dustin is tired after 15years hardcore skating"
super super sick ! Dustin the man, the legend, the idol, the best
i like dustin latimer's section in words the most.. his hip hop days were the shit.. but big props for him leading the crowd with the innovation of this sport.. he'll be missed
He's skating again fellas, the King is back.
most chill edit ever! made my day
best movie on youtube ! I so focking love it !

alot of people don't get that he's trying to show the essence of oldskool rolling in this section

sofa cess slide was pretty sick nice section.. thread the needle at the end was ill also
DL is sweet i like this section nice calm and relaxing gr8 to watch ppl stop been haters of this section its wikid DL is in my top 3 blader idols so stop been a hater

Song: Aw Bruser
Alum: We Didn't see you on Sunday
;)
Farewell Dustin.
the song is called 'aw bruiser' but i cant remember who it's by
that seems to be the only section of Dustin that should have been filmed for AM. I don't think I would like to see him making amazing and dangerous tricks as farmer or bambrick. well, they are of no comparison
the point of his section was to show that skating is about having fun.
@MistaMojoRisin
Yes he's back on USD with an OG team
I mean, i don`t offend him, he`s a legend.Nobody should, but instead of his section they maybe should have put Pat Lennen or Vinny Minton in it.Dustin is cool though.
this section is looks like just one big line which is sick but if he like 540 some stairs sets in the line it would b ill
it is DL he just recently started nimh. this is older
so GURU !!!!!
This Section if Fuckin Rad...anyone that knows anything could recognize this
no, its about who does the illest gaps and tricks :D
how can someone watch aragon's section before watching this and NOT think its boring?
i buy a skate dvd to see crazy skating, not soul skating.
i know this is "what skating is all about" but its not something i enjoy paying good money for.
skating at schools in america is so much easier i uk - round where i love all the rails have joints in them every foot or wood everywhere or bricks with joints in :(
whoever is talkin shit about this section must not be a roller, cuz his creativity blows most skaters out of the water!
not to mention its shot with film...how could you go wrong?
ridiculous, i likewhat he was going for with the big long run for a section but i could do all that easily!
i know he's amazing but that was a joke!
medium smell the glove is where its at
