I love you. I learnd basic basic on my own something like 4-5 years ago and then I stucked in one place. And I finally moved on thanks to your videos. You explain everything so clear, it's really helpful💖 [btw sorry for my English, I still make a lot of mistakes]
Currently doing lessons and I came across your channel! Lovin this so far! I’ve been watching the basic vids to see what I should prepare for so these have been helpful!
I ice skated when I was in elementary school for 2 years and got to level 6 and I decided to try doing it again because I fell back in love after going with my friends! Thanks so much for this video :)
@@londonwoodhead7780 I don't know how you're practicing it now, but someone explained to me once not to drag the back foot in the T. Rather, angle it so your outside edge is angled toward the ice to get a clean scrape. Also, don't put your foot far behind you, but keep it close to the back of the front foot so you don't open your hip or go spinning out. And, don't transfer your weight onto your back foot to try and stop faster, just let the drag itself do the work. That might not be accurate info, that's just what I remember being told to me. Somehow, it worked, and a T-stop is the one stop I feel confident it.... Yeah. I still can't hockey stop. Side note: I can't be the only one who finds backwards crossovers easier than forwards, right...?
Hi Mary, I'm not sure u noticed, but I did, coz the same things happen to me all the time. Notice in the background how the rest skaters were copying every move u did. Well, at least they tried. 5:24 guy trying to stop,
My situation is I like to practise alone but quite a few times there were some advance-skilled people came to talk to me. Some are nice and gave me pratise tips. but some just watch and disturb me ... LOL . I need to ignore them. Everyone starts from begginner.

you're very welcome!
Thank you for making these videos! for so long now I’ve been going ice skating but not knowing what to practice
When I passed this basic
I was very happy! I love this basic
❤
The hockey stop is somehow the hardest thing I've done so far, and that include the T stop and backwards crossovers. Why is it so difficult? D:
you can do it!! those are the trickiest skills in the basic skills series
For me backwards cross overs are easy but I cant do I T-stop

I'm usually in my own little world skating lol!
I am the person who try copying everything I see :') don't shame us, just trying as much as is possible to improve our skills
My situation is I like to practise alone but quite a few times there were some advance-skilled people came to talk to me. Some are nice and gave me pratise tips. but some just watch and disturb me ... LOL . I need to ignore them. Everyone starts from begginner.
Thank you for the awesome video! ❤
Hockey stops scare me more than any of these skills. I just imagine my feet slipping out from underneath me. :/
Oh yay!!!!! Next Basics 6? 😉🙏🏼
coming soon! although the mohawk will be part of it in September and I taped mine awhile ago, just have to edit :)
@@CoachMarySkating love it ❤️
I know what I am going to practise this season :)
if you didn’t see the other person in the back did the same thing fro backward crossovers
how do you know which direction to put your arms?
I was told to hug the circle
I remember what I used to say when I was in basic 5, "3-turns are evil" 😭
SO TRUEEEE!! I did my first 3 spins recently and it just seems impossible!! 😅
Forward Outside 3 Turn - ughh, why it's so hard? Ahaha! I feel like I need another 10000+ hours on ice to get it right!
Ooooohh, here come the really difficult parts
the like button is a beautiful invention
thank you for supporting!!
lol I’m in basic 5
Perfect!
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Are figures back in figure skating??🤔
