The image of the drive wheel fitting onto the square-end axle can be seen at 1:55 mins into this RUclips video. The plastic cog is shown pushed all the way down the square end of the axel BUT on my Buddy, it wouldn't seat all the way down there without a fight ! Same with the wheel itself. Same very tight fit. Nothing broken or faulty - just the very tight fit creates the problem - but it CAN be overcome !
Please help - I'm struggling to fit the 4th wheel - the one that is different. The wheel will not go all the way in despite being careful that is aligned properly. The metal square post seems too tight onto the wheel's plastic square surround - and it is scratching (and will chew up) the inside of the plastic square of the wheel. Is this a common problem ? What should I do ? Otherwise, the Berg Buddy looks fantastic and super strong.
I've sorted the problem ! The drive wheel center section and plastic cog that are to fit over the square end of the axle are very tight. As you push the tight-fit wheel on, it pushes the axle too far into the frame housing. I used the longer screw (used to bolt the two main body sections together) to reach further through the wheel, along with multiple washers as a spacer, tightening the screw into the axle pulls the tight-fit wheel and cog onto the axle. Once fully pulled onto the axle, I unscrewed that long screw and replaced with the short intended screw (and washer). Problem sorted - and just in the nick-of-time for Christmas !!!! I hope this might help anyone else with the same problem !!!!!
Now I've sorted the problem, I am more than satisfied with this product. It is very robust and should last many, many years.
