Watching the replay. I have to tell you,Marla, it's taken a few months to finally feel like I'm getting into an easy flow in my daily routines, but it's been worth all the effort. I've been feeling stuck in the kitchen all day because I hand wash my dishes. It always felt like I was just moving the needle forward but never actually feeling done for the day, even though my kitchen is the one room that is now in full maintenance mode. But last week, I made one 5 minute change in there that changed absolutely everything about the function of my kitchen. I'm very much a visual organiser. I have to see my stuff. Even the hidden stuff has to be easy to see and access. And the kitchen is no accepting. So I have alot of things on my counters, but they are all things that EARNED their spot in that space. That includes the very few things that are meant purely for the purpose of looking pretty or cute. Anyway, over the past nearly 4 years, I've re-arranged the items a bunchch of times, each time making the arrangement a little more aesthetic and a tiny bit more functional and easier to work with. But I still hadn't gotten to that sweet spot of functionality. But last week I made a small tweak in the arrangement that took me literally 5 minutes to do, and cleaning up as I cook and afterwards has been easy breezy. I cut my clean-up time by 2/3 the time it was taking me before then. It is so true that it's those little tweaks in our routines and organisation that add up to HUGE changes! Thank you!
@jenniferbtoo9344 Well; first I divided my kitchen cabinet and xouner soace into stations. I have my beverage station near the fridge, my food prep station between the sink and the stove, and my cooking station from the stove to the end of the counters. Oh; and ofcourse the sink area is the waah station. is a little over lap between the prep and cook station just because of how I use those spaces. Everything related to each station gets stored in the cabinets; drawers; and on the counters in that station. As for the visual aspect, the things I use absolutely every day (or enough to earn their spot on my counters), with the exception of my stand mixer (it's heavy, and I don't want to drag it out each timeIi use it....usually about one a week), goes on the counters. Insude cabinets and drawers, I use only open containers with no lids on the cintainers at all. Everything IN the cabinets and drawers is arranged in SOMEWHAT of an organised way, even the junk drawer. I am not a super detailed organiser, but I DO like things grouped in categories where possible., because it makes it easier to see and access what I'm looking for. As for counter space, I keep things like a small clear container to put various teas in, and refill it from the boxes in the cabinet. I keep my ciffeemaker/k-cup dual machine, and open container fir yhe dush sopa (to keep soap from fldripping onto the counter), a sponge and steel wool hoker that hangs on the divider on the double sink, I keep a large tall mason jar with spaghetti pasta; a clear glass jar of lard, a fresh garlic holder, and clear glass butter dish. I also have a kitchen knife holder, a utensils holder, and I keep my Ninja pressure cooker and my stand mixer out of. The counter. I don't use a microwave anymore, which opened alot of counter space for the pressure cooker and stand mixer. The trick about counter space when you're visual, is to know how much of your every day things you are able to noth make room for AND still have counter space to work with, and to arrange those things in a way that is both functional AND doesn't look cluttered. Having those things placed in or near their related stations really helps with that. Also, life you know how to coral like items, that creates more visual space in between groups of items. I hope that all makes sense. Also, go check out Cass The Clutter Bug. She has great ideas for visual orgsnisrrs. She calls them bees and butter flies, depending on how detailed they are. Her way of describing different types organising personalities, has helped me immensely in discovering my own. One thing she recommends for visual orgsnisers is to not be afraid to remove cabinet and closet doors, and lots of open shelving. I STILL like some hidden spaces, so I sull use cabinets and drawers and closet closets for som of my things. But even hidden stuff nedds to be super visual and easy access for me.
Oh...onemore thing...I coralled my pasta jar, lard jar, garlic holder, ring holder, and a tiny bouquet of crocheted roses I made a long time ago onto the glass rotating plate that we kept from the microbe to coral tgemnalm together, and it fits perfectly in the corner space of my prep station. I created more space,;and less moving things around all the time when I work. And it looks both functional AND pretty

My daughter is a visual organizer too. Would you share your tips of what you did in your kitchen?
