    That's the thing, FT might win at all the steps but Zeta finished early like 5 years earlier and that you can get the whole set even back before the box set at a lot cheaper and I do not need to have to mortgage my kidneys to get them. They're fine and I display them in combined mode. The question is how well the FT will hold up after 5~10 years with all the figures in combined mode cause of how heavy they are. Will their joints deteriorate in combined mode? My Zeta since they're a lot lighter are still all pretty tight on the joints.
    13:30 sure but there's always a caveat, if you wanted to finish a really good Superion 5 years ago, you would have gone with Zeta, if you wanted to wait till the heat death of the universe, FT. They're both MP scale but at this point, I think Zeta has the advantage as being the first one to be finished and do a decent work with it. Let's be honest, there were collectors that probably have passed over the past 5 years before they could even see their collection finish if they stuck with FT. Now that is a tragedy.

      You raise some good points about the combiner comparison yet to come, - we'll just have to wait and see - I'm sure TM will do a comparison of the combine modes when FT finishes the set.
      I agree that collectors passing away is a tragedy, but I'm struggling to imagine not completing their superion would be their dying regret, fingers crossed they didn't have any regrets at all.
      Plenty of companies never finish planned releases, or never plan to complete all the characters in a team or set due to popularity, engineering, cost etc, so as an FT collector, I appreciate FT completeing it now depite the time gap. Doesn't bother me at all.
      For the new comers interested in picking up the reissues now, they wouldn't care about the time gap, the only relevant question is which figure is better. As you say, for combine mode, it's still anyones guess, hopefully two good options!

    ZETA is the value leader and a screaming bargain for a nice Superion. The individual figures from FansToys are always going to dominate in any comparison. Ultimately you get what you pay for and FansToys have premium prices to go with their premium products.

  • @MetalloPrime

    Not surprised that FT won out, just the better engineering and toon look alone would have guaranteed the win there, and I agree with you as much as I love my zeta set.
    I will say though, with my dark side superitron set, I don't have any kind of looseness with the 5 bots, even on silverbolt's infamous back that I see other people struggle to keep together. Maybe im just lucky lol
    Not gonna bother with FT, but I am curious to see how the combined mode will stack up when all is said and done. Great comparison video!

  • @kryst0ff

    I expected a Fanstoys worship but when you started talking about the zeta "not being put together well" and "need to be careful when transforming the zeta" I just can't! Perhaps you have a faulty figure, but I have neither of these problems with my metallic version. Then you have the zeta with the waist rotation that goes further but insists that the more restrictive movement of the Fanstoys is better... Other points are valid, but frankly this comparison is a joke. My only complaint about the Fanstoys that I've seen is the fat blocky waist and that the wings don't come off for a cleaner combined mode. The heavy push down on the zeta in plane mode while sliding the Fanstoys across the surface - come on!

    • @saysoun752
      @saysoun752 5 месяцев назад +1

      I don't have any problems with mine either, also got the metallic version. I got a steal 2 years ago as it was a black Friday sale and I got the entire set for a measly $275, before tax.

    Also in the case of fairness, FT did announce their combiners almost at the time the Zeta and even the DX9 Menasor combiners were announced. So, the comparison is still valid. I think design for the individual bots were done back then, hence the lacking articulation. It was only the combine mode (particularly parts-forming pieces) that delayed the releases.

      They also teased their Devastator way back in 2016. So are you suggesting when they finally release their bots in another couple of years it's fair to compare with the ToyWorld Constructor figures?
      I think a Viper vs Flyfire comparison is valid, but not for the reasons you mentioned.

    • @octobotimus
      @octobotimus 5 месяцев назад +1

      IIf we go with that we must also admit FT had all this time to modify the designs to be modern and didn't bother.

    • @paperstrawmedia
      @paperstrawmedia 5 месяцев назад

      @@bobagorof That wasn't a tease. It was the silhouette of the TW Constructor just to show scale of their Omega Supreme. I doubt they already have the designs of their Constructicons in that time. Still, since both are competing for the same space in your collection, the comparison is still valid. But you do have to consider the standards set during that time. That's why I mentioned the design for the FT Aerialbots might have been finalized at the same time as the Zeta's.

  • @bobagorof

    I'm confused by your rating system. You indicate FansToys has better Build and Engineering and Sculpt, and then also penalise Zeta's alt mode because there is a slight gap where the wings attach. Isn't that covered by Build?
    You don't mention any other factors to split the alt-mode category, so it seems like you've used that gap as the deciding factor. So by winning the Build category, they effectively get the Alt-mode category as a 2-for-1. You don't seem to take the accuracy or aesthetics of the alt-mode into account at all, or at least you failed to mention it in the video if you did.
    As a result, this review seems to have a lot more subjectivity and personal preference than some of your other reviews that I've watched.
    It was obvious before the review began that the FansToys was going to be the winner, and that's probably fair as it is a product that was released 5 years later and costs 4 times as much. However, it seems to me that your standard claim of "try to be as objective as possible" fell a little short this time, even if the result would have been the same.

    A few things..i think everyone will agree that fans toys wins.
    1) since you gave fans toys the point on build quality, you shouldnt have included that point as a reason to give fans toys a point in alt mode. In my mind aesthetically u cant differentiate the difference between the 2 and since fanstoys won build, the should tie on alt mode.
    2) articulation should have gone tk zeta. That waist articulation is not a waste articulation on fans toys. Its a cheat and i think many reviewers wouldn't have given waist articulation to fans toys at all. So since zeta had better head articulation and waist, but ft only ankle, zeta should get the point on articulation.
    3) overall sculpt i agree is better than zeta so nothing there. That said i think fanstoys doesnt even look like their is a waist or the proportions look off compared to Zeta. FT looks like ot just went from torso to hips right away.
    Anyways i have both sets and zeta will be my combine mode and ft my bot mode. I cant justify doubling FT cause of the price and no matter how much better FT will be or could be in combine mode wont justify the price difference since Zetas superion is excellent.

    Didn’t know till now that cartoon firefly actually has the wings on the legs hanging off the side pointed outward. Can Fanstoys do that? Love the comparisons Sony and definitely designs from the same era even if FT took years to actually get it out

  • @trini967
    @trini967 5 месяцев назад

    I think the fanstoys one is a better display piece generally. However the price of a full set of fanstoys aerialbots is quite high. I think that the fanstoys ones are limited in enough areas that matter to me to go with the zeta set. The biggest things being no g1 toy style decals, tampos or heads. While zeta has the toy hax set and 2 releases you can mix and match for a toy set. And all for the cost of 1.5 of the fanstoys set you can get the full team.

    • @bobagorof
      @bobagorof 5 месяцев назад

      The FansToys is definitely move cartoon accurate, whilst the Zeta is more toy accurate (though certainly not a toy deco). Personally I think the Zeta is more interesting to look at, but obviously more people prefer the cartoon aesthetic.
      $226 is an obscene price for a single limb figure, too.

      @@zyphr07reviews83 It's the import taxes as these toys are coming from China and that's why it's more expensive here but super cheap when you buy them from ShowZstore or other Chinese online sites. It's also the reason why it's more expensive to buy Transformers from Hasbro on ShowZstore than it is to buy them from Hasbro or other American sites. However, this is offset by sales taxes that's not charged by Chinese sites. An example of this is Missing Link Optimus Prime as he's $120 here before taxes while he's $145 from ShowZstore. However, since most Masterpieces come from Japan, it's still sometimes cheaper to buy them from ShowZstore.

Yes individual bots are better and combine mode is better with FT, but at the price of FT Jester, you get the whole Zeta superion. Well at least Zeta finished with their set 5 years ago and before I will die of old age. The joke with the last release for FT's Aerial bots is supposed to be in "July", but they never said "when" It could be this year it could be in 30 years. Also with all the inflation, I can't even really justify buying them and if you missed their first releases back in the day, their secondary market prices are super expensive cause they're Fanstoys. I'm glad I managed to get all the Dinobots from them except Cesium as an upgrade but if I tried buying those now including the cartoon accurate head for Grimlock's dino mode cause the one that came with him was an ugly one that was made ugly on purpose due to copyright reasons, they would require me to sell my house lol.
