And for those that weren't around 5 plus years ago, people thought Bobby was on Fans Toys payroll. Because they felt that he never criticized Fans Toys, boy. How times have changed! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
hello mr skullface, i am easily pleased, i love this one and im very happy to hear there is a light at the end of the tunnel for the completion of this render of superion, thanks fanstoys😎 great review as usual
Holy crap! I never thought about the fact that design shifted to the toon accuracy so much since the first three were released that it almost look like the figure is not from the same set. I expected Fans Toys would add at least some intricacy to make them more cohesive or to at least match the red paint with the other three, but I guess they didn't have enough time to figure that part out. 🤣
The build and materials may well be better on the FansToys version, but I'm happy with my Zeta figure from years ago. It's no more fiddly and uses the same basic concepts for the tailwing as this one does. Absolutely I'm sure this is a better figure, but the cost of upgrading isn't worth it for me.
Great review, Bobby! FansToys should consider a design role that manages continuity in their figures so that paint and sculpt of key elements are maintained throughout “sets” of figures. Examples: paint color, metallic, eyes, faces, detailing etc.
I think he looks fantastic. Sacrifices must be made for what looks to be an amazing combined mode. That’s pretty impressive to get 3 modes looking so good.
Just got mine. In hand, he feels so much lighter than the rest of the team (almost feels cheap). That’s probably what took so long was redoing the materials to keep the arm-bots light enough.
@@MythsAndHeroes true enough, drag strip was lightish, too, come to think of it. Now we await the $500 question still lurking for each team. Fingers crossed and cheers.
Hopefully ToyHax will release some stickers for the last two of this group to make this one in particular look better and no so boring and plain....this guy is like the albino jet of the group
I’m not liking the price on these last one. I think they should have sold the combiner part separately. With extras and maybe a stand for the combiner.
One of the things that made Fanstoys such a standout to me was their little seasonin they put on the figures. I luv the figures regardless however the toon accuracy of a 80’s show nowadays may not be the flavor we need or maybe switch it up and pop them robot collars again! FT of course always feels superior tho, let’s keep it full stack of pancakes.
100% My thoughts as I hear Bobby talk about the chest being off... the back view in bot mode looks better. The front is not bad, just not as ... interesting :/ Perhaps the blue translucent pieces would make it pop a bit more? ... Maybe. It looks like they made sacrifices for the bot, for stability for the combiner. I was thinking these would be my bot display, but maybe my Zeta will be, have to compare them in hand first. Overall the main thing that bugs me is the red being off, I wonder how it will look next to the re-releases. At least these are not ultra toon like the Contructicons are looking. If only there was more time... Great review as always :)
@@MythsAndHeroes every bit helps with combined transformers figures ,I had G creation Dinobot combiner, Moon studio Raditron , unique toys Bruticus Now have the ocular max bruticus always balance problem s with all of them , but Moon studios one was the worse because of its arms were so large and heavy
Makes me want to paint my Zeta Flireflight with real red paint, otherwise they're on par and Zeta's been complete for 5 years. As for bot mode... I'll never see it anyway.
Definitely not on par. Fanstoys 3 other figures next to zetas are like comparing a mainline to an MP. No comparison sold my zeta after having multiple plastic breakages. The zeta firefly has theorist quality plastic of my collection on par with toyworld constructor.
Finally got mine... Love it, still love the review, but it should be said $&*!!$%$#@ when transforming back from alt to bot mode the freaking arms are a major pita. Perhaps after a few transformations it will be a bit easier but OMG $(*@#$(%@#!!
I'm getting buyers remorse on this set, honestly. Ultimately they just look really bland, and for as much space as they're going to take up I'm not really feeling it, same with the Stunticons.
Probably because this isn't a 'versus episode'... and more to the point, his zeta is probably in combine mode up on his shelf. If I was in his position, I wouldn't have wasted my time disassembling and transforming it just for a 5 second side by side comparison. Thankfully the internet is full of useful search engines ready to accommodate your curious mind.
@@DrWOF I didn't ask for a detailed analysis. But it's not unreasonable and it would have been nice for him spend a minute or two of his time saying what he thinks about this vs what is already available on the market for people that don't have a superion yet. AND, I did search through Bobby's videos and he DOES NOT have a comparison of the two. so maybe you need to search before you type.
@@elmerfudd743wait for the entire fanstoys set to be released before demanding a vs. with Zeta. I don't think it makes any sense for him to do it yet.
@@elmerfudd743 no of course he wouldn't have a versus vid - viper just came out in the last day or so. He does dedicated versus vids from time to time, (that's what i meant) but wouldn't necessarily compare them outside of that. The zeta aerialbots are inferior in relation to materials, transformation, paint, build, and likeness as individual bots compared to fanstoys. They may, however, prove to be the better set in combined mode, as they are indeed stable and well built for this purpose. Fanstoys bots are heavy and it's questionable as to whether they will accommodate for this in the final combine mode - time will soon tell. Hope that helps.
He looks a little drab, not particularly detailed, and then you pan down to his BLING CROTCH. I think what you're seeing about his proportions is that the shoulders are too low down.
‘He looks so…….😏 PLANE. Sir, how do you sleep at night?

Thanks Skully
Jet mode is slick!
Would love to see a versus with Zeta
I don't hate the torso as much as Bobby does. I think it will look even better with the blue accents on the hips. It looks like the character.
They had all the time in the friggin’ world 🤷🏽♂️
I love its not a plane on a robot box. It actually looks like a plane! I'm impressed.
I need to see the red in hand, but on 1st impressions thats a bummer, the metallic red on the 1st 3 is sensational.
Any plane-bot that doesn’t get walked over to the batting cage, right? 😅

It will all be worth it when we see that amazing combined mode

I have been enjoying the FT carbots lately, too bad these fell short
Ft throwback edition!! Lol
I'm curious if the metallic red will be missing in the reissue that's a higher price
It's just weird that the robot mode is the lesser of the modes on a Fans Toys figure.
Looking at it from the jet mode perspective, I don't think the metallic red would have looked good to have mixed red colors. Fresh.
In two years we will get a more expensive 2.0
So how long ago was this supposed to have come out?
A vs against zeta to incorporate the year gap and quality of the product

Agree with your points, doesn't feel worth the wait but they look so good together.
Too expensive and too late.
Really disappointed there's no toy face.
lol well said
It has to be lighter , it makes the arm If it was well built. The weight Would be to much in combination mode , still looks great , better then zeta

The jet mode looks amazing. I’m perplexed why their Jazz has the tightest arm ratchets and big figures like these are friction. 🤦🏻♂️
