    When the percentage is a two digit number its always gonna start with a decimal
    45% of 80
    .45×80=36
    ---------------------
    When the percentage is only one digit start with your decimal but add a zero followed by your percentage
    4% of 80
    .04×80=3.2
    This method gets rid of the subtracting Hopefully this helps and is understandable.

    25% of 860 - would you not just half it, and then half it again (if we are trying to keep it simple)?

    • @ExplodingConsole
      @ExplodingConsole 9 лет назад

      +Jessica Smith That's what I did, to try to keep it simple and follow a simular path to the 5% method of taking 10% and halfing it.

    • @bennemann
      @bennemann 8 лет назад +2

      +Jessica Smith I usually divide the number in its constituents of tens, hundreds and thousands. So 860 becomes 800 + 60. I do a quarter (25%) of each, which gives 200 and 15 respectively, then just sum them back together to give 215.
      Another example would be 20% of 1485.
      It becomes (20% of 1000) + (20% of 400) + (20% of 80) + (20% of 5) = 200 + 80 + 16 + 1 = 297
      Got it?

      @cornfusedatbest6693 10 лет назад +1

      Exactly my point! My math skills are the only thing that has held me back from my goals in life. Math, I think anyway, is the most important in life skills, math is everywhere and everything. I learn it okay, but I lose it just as fast! I remember checking out a book from my school library titled "How to Overcome Math Anxiety", when I was in the 9th grade.Needless to say, didn't help. I've had to rely on my stronger attributes to, just like you say, "stumble through life." Someone told me that I read too much into the equations, maybe that's it, maybe I just can't see the forest for the trees.

      Imari Is Weird Hi Imari!
      Basically you find 10 percent of 360 (just take the zero off) which is 36.
      Multiply 36 by 5 to get 50 percent, which is 180.
      But you need 55 percent, so get 36 (which is ten percent) and divide by 2 to get 18 (which is 5 percent) and add it onto 180, which is 198.
      Hope that helped :)

    U can also divid the number by 100 and multiply it by the percentage
    10% of 80 is 0.8x10=8
    Or just divide by ten if it end with a 0 in the percentage then multiply by the first number of the percentage
    40%of 80 is 80divided by 10= 8 8x4= 32 it’s easy

      On the last question 85% of 620. I found the easier way for me was to find the 50% of 620 which was 310. I then found the 10% and 5% of 620 which was 62 (10%) and 31 (5%).I multiplied 62 by 3 to get the 30% of 620. Added these together. Now I had 80% of 620 which is 186. Add 186 to 31 (5%) and 310. You get 527. 85% of 620. Hopefully this helped some.
