I totally agree, my respects to the video quality. But imagine a clip-on microphone, wouldn't that be lovely. Especially when hammering etc.. But I get it, there's enough tasks already.

Speaking as a teacher with 20+ years under my belt…you could teach your old teachers (and some new ones) a thing or two about perseverance and determination. Not to mention the odd tidbit about engineering, design and applied physics! Love the glimpse into a normal day on this vid. Cheers!

Love your channel Kris. Your rooster does the same thing ours does. When you throw food on the ground he clucks and calls all the hens over so they can eat. He doesn't eat until they have all come. What a gentleman! ;-)

I'd never seen that behavior until we got our own chickens because my grandmother normally didn't keep roosters. We don't keep the roosters with the hens but do feed them by the fence so the guys can do their thing. Noticed that they were better behaved when we started doing that.
Be great when you start working on that mill! Great job!

It seems that there are a bunch of people that agree with me; your big project videos that are polished, with voiceover, drone footage, etc are great, but this "in the works", or "behind the scenes" videos are great as well. Great video, and keep up the great work mate!

I really enjoy the in progress vids -- no need for that "instant finish" all in one vid, as I find the process of getting there just as interesting. I'm always amazed by what you're working on, then even more amazed when I realize you're generating all the power to do it by yourself. Kudos!

I came across your channel a while back looking for pure British DIY off grid builds and not employing specialists, I think your's is the only one on youtube, very inspirational everything that you've accomplished on your own and something very similar to what we're planning on doing in the future, hope you don't mind me pinching some of your ideas. Watching your hydro build and the manifold you constructed made me remember about building custom V8 exhausts and wondered if you have ever thought about using a stainless 4 into 1 collector the other way round... sorry if I'm telling you how to suck eggs and you'd already thought about it but if you don't ask. Be nice to see more of the killer puddy cat, she's so awesome and cute.

Folks might assume that an off-the-grid lifestyle is focused upon living as our ancestors did but you're moving swiftly into the digital future with your cad designs, injection-molding, plasma CNC cutting. It's going to be fun to watch. Is an injection molding machine going to show up in the top shop or will you sub that out? Very cool! Very inspiring!

    Another great video...
You should have some sort of beam across the pond, metallic or wood, sticking down in the water maybe 5 to 10 cm:s. Catching floating stuff on the surface and forcing clean water to flow under the beam. Placed some distance before the water sieve. Maybe it takes some digging just before the sieve.
Worth a try. If it works you don't need to clean the sieve as often as you do now.

Even though what you're doing is incredibly demanding work, it's not so tough to go "to work" when you're doing what your driven and passionate to do ay? I am really impressed over the progress you are making in desining and modeling the hydrosystems in Cad, mostly because you managed to learn it all by yourself! That is an insane level of commitment! In most 3D-CAD programs, freeforms or complex multilayer forms are not that easy to modulate and sometimes really funky, but your spoons look pretty well designed i must say. Any chance you will simulate some systems using FEM or CFX? Could be helpfull for getting more information if everything holds up.
