@@richardc9634that one is less surprising. Apparently laws that used to exist for trying crimes for the kind of activity of Jan 6 were purged as part of some big legal cleanup in the 1940s. The law being applied here was a bit creative. Creative interpretations don't always survive scrutiny by SCOTUS. Sometimes legal outcomes have less to do with SCOTUS being biased and more to do with Congress being increasingly less productive. Even more so with this train wreck of a court.

Worse, they are trying to rule according to religious convictions. If this keeps up we won't be recognizable as the US anymore and we won't be able to recover it.

The Chevron decision is bad for all Americans, including Republican voters. Societies need experts and specialist agencies to protect us. It is sad that SCOTUS has made this ruling and if Trump is reelected many of these agencies will be gutted. Knowledge replaced by ideology. It's remarkable that Republican voters don't understand just what they are doing. The party of law and order, the 'conservatives' are throwing law out the window and tearing everything down.

Judicial reform is a must. The US Judiciary is not subject to any checks and balances that all other branches of government experience. Term limits. Impeachment. Ethics and conduct rules with legal penalties. Limits on the power of individual judges to negate regulations. End unsigned and decisions not attributed to judges who decided a case, timeframe mandates to hear a case. Etc

The court has no real power. The Executive Branch needs to react and ignore this court.
Under the constitution, the role of the court is to interpret the law as passed by congress and to act as a persuasive advisor to the Executive branch in legal matters of importance. It is not the Court's role or duty to make law as the current bench of justices, in majority, presume.

Imagine the, literally, millions of pages of regulations and standards around the supply chain for the military alone. Add in the Atomic Energy Commission. Add in all the regulation for food and drug safety, good manufacturing practices. Regulations and standards for communications equipment and ensuring that said gear doesn't cause somebody getting a CAT scan nearby to be killed. Water quality monitoring and regulation. Air safety regulation. Etc etc etc.
Of course they will because there is no precedent for it and that is how the law now operates.

Under this argument, I guess they think the Court should have left the Brown vs. Board of Education alone because seperate but equal was the rule of the land for a long time.
The court has essentially said, adjudicat everything and log jam the administrative process. They have declared unambiguously where they stand and that is AGAINST THE ELECTED DEMOCRATIC PROCESS.

Did any of you ever listen to a Metropolitan Opera singer with a cold? Tim on the Bullwark came in with a cold not long ago, and the young man didn't give a good performance. Maybe you should consider that a wise elder faced a scripted man who practiced his selling job while Biden stood and listened. Colds create a minimum of synchronized movements in the face, and he was a tough 82-year-old doing his job as a performer and a governor. The other side just lied and has ruined our artistic, cultural, and civilized work here in New York City throughout these years.

The entire federal judiciary is completely swamped with case backlogs. There is no way possible that they have the bandwidth to take on something like this. Maybe that's part of the plan that Alito has in mind: to grown the federal judiciary to a level never imagined before like something out of 1984

Well, "ambiguous laws" is pretty ambiguous. Who determines whether a law is ambiguous or not? If an agency, such as the EPA, imposes a fine on a corporation, does that corporation have to go to court and prove that the law is "ambiguous"? And then, if the law is found to be ambiguous, does the agency have to file suit against the corporation so that the courts can make a ruling on the appropriateness of the original fine? What a crazy burden on our already over-stretched court system.
We have to vote Blue straight ticket and swing the house and senate hard 💙 so we can add 5 more judges on the SC!
