This was very revealing, I will never listen casually to this piece again. Great concept and great performing.
I can understand the logic of picking the soloists he chose here, but some of them are not really Verdi type voices. I'm not saying they can't sing it or shouldn't sing it but rather some are don't have the right presence in their voices for this repertoire. However, I will always think that Harnoncourt may be one of the greatest in terms of unrelenting in his musical principles and creating great excitement and detail of music. I like his choices musically and the energy and passion he never let wane.
RIP la Scola, Polgar and Harnoncourt
Hermosa la voz de Cristina al iniciar su entrada con una cadenza con una afinación y el sentimiento de la esclava Aida que sufre por amor y por el desprecio de Amneris. Su ruego es muy refinado. Frases muy hermosas
Thomas hampsoin thank you
Que pasión que maravilla
Excelente grabación.
How many 80 year olds do you see waving their arms around like this?
Bravo!
Why is the recording not on Spotify?
