I love that they made Alfred an actual character in this game, something I missed with the other Arkham games. Perhaps my favorite and most memorable bits of his dialogue is that randomly at any point after you raid the GCPD and get access to the National Criminal Database, Alfred will call Batman on his comms and say "Its midnight sir, just wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas."
    "You too."
Just one of those quick dialogue quips that really reminded me (and by extension, Batman) that I still have someone back home who cares for me. Idk but it was a touching moment imo

I'm beginning to believe Alfred Pennyworth was based on Christopher Lee. He was a secret agent in WW2, then became a prolific actor, released a symphonic metal album in his 80s, and was knighted. I sense an inspiration. Funnily enough, the guy was a cousin of Ian Fleming, and served as one of the inspirations for James Bond, as well as being a lifelong friend of J.R.R. Tolkien.

These interactions and the fact the Batcave is in this game are reasons I think Origins is criminally underrated. Say what you will about the glitches, but I only ever encountered those a handful of times since the final patch. If you hated it when it was released (I disliked it admittedly), go give it another chance.

I actually prefer Origins over AC for many reasons. Origins has a darker tone and darker themes which is more accurate to Batman, while AA and AC did provide dark themes compared to the TV show, it is still very cartoony. Origins finally gave Batman armor and got rid of those crappy suits with underwear from AA and AC, because you know it's the 21st century and Batman goes up against criminals with machine guns and also a 40 year old man dressing like a Bat is one thing but it is not the 1960s and this is not a cartoon for 5 year olds, no more underwear for the Batsuit....looking at you Rocksteady. Also in Origins the criminals don't really believe Batman exist or if he is even a man or a creature but then when Batman shows up .....they $h!+ their pants, they are terrified of Batman and this is how it supposed to be. In AC the criminals mock Batman and are no longer really afraid of him, yes some run but most of them mock Batman. I love all these games, but replaying all of them the last couple weeks, Origins is the best IMO. I will never play Arkham Knight, the game looks beautiful and I hear combat is a lot of fun but the story is garbage, it is the single worst possible ending for Batman ever, the only way Batman could have a worse ending is being tag teamed by all the villains and then murdered. Was AK an original ending? Yes. Does that make it good? No. I honestly think Rocksteady just got tired of Batman and since they already killed Joker, they decided to totally cop-out and kill the Bat. Weak sauce. WB Monteral understands Batman better and I am looking forward to their upcoming sequel to Origins.

Yump Bagle Since Kirk Langstrom didn't become Man Bat until shortly before Arkham Knight and Origins is set 12 years before Knight the giant bat in the cave was probably one of Kirk's bat test subjects while he was still researching the echolocation ability of bats that helps them navigate in the dark and trying to find out how to apply it to humans so he could cure his own deafness. So the King Bat Alfred talks about is probably one Langstrom experimented on which grew to gigantic size and found its way into the Batcave probably while hunting. It's also a reference to a storyline in the comics where Man Bat himself briefly roosted in the Batcave.

There is one where they talk about Deathstroke getting the drop on Batman, and another talking about the Mad Hatter. Those are the only two I encountered that were not in this video.

the second clip. was that Alfred talking about Man-Bat?! was Man-Bat somehow just chillin in the Batcave. if that’s the case then that’s a huge continuity error because Man-Bat didn’t show up till Arkham Knight

Well to be fair Bruce is a younger Batman in this game. Him and Alfred’s relationship has much more improving throughout his career. Plus Bruce was arrogant in his younger years.
