David is a GP in Southport, where he has been practicing for over 30 years. During that time, he has become fascinated by how people can become really healthy without using medication. In 2016 David was bestowed the NHS Innovator of the Year award. He is Ambassador for the all-party Parliamentary Group on Diabetes, the Senior Medical Adviser to www.diabetes.co.uk, who have helped over 50,000 people put their diabetes in remission and is a founding member of The Public Health Collaboration. David says that one of the things he enjoys most is helping patients make lifestyle changes in order to make it possible to de-prescribe their medication.”

I just LOVE Dr Unwin. . Such a genuine, sincerely caring person that has some serious gumption to stick his neck out and fight the way that his patients are cared for, because he figured out a better way. Bravo Dr Unwin!

Very inspiring ,was told I had prediabetes and have been on a prediabetes ICS course provided by the NHS for the last 6 months which has been very good and my blood glucose levels have gone down, I stopped the cakes, pastries, sausage rolls etc but not the bread intake! so I will deal with that now, I do think the eat well guide needs to be changed regarding carbohydrates.

This is a brilliant video. I love Dr. Unwin and he's indeed one of the greats in the LCHF arena. I do take a degree of consternation though with the suggestion that type 1 diabetics MUST take insulin. If, and I do mean a big if, a T1D fasted their way to level and low blood sugar and gradually and purposefully introduced a low carbohydrate diet into their system and when the risk of ketoacidosis was past or clearly minimized, it would be entirely possible to manage without insulin at all. This was, in fact, the practice in the late 1800s through 1922 prior to the availability of ANIMAL insulin. A T1D could simply keep insulin handy for an emergency and usually sugar toxicity is not instant unless soemeone with T1D ate a big piece of cake or something. It was deterined by Elliott Joslin that children teens were often-not always-very receptive to this idea and exhibited much greater self control than grown adult men and women who ATE their way to T2D. Respectfully, Moon
