Got a code for my 2020 Ram yesterday, right front speed sensor. Jumped on the tube for a quick search, found this video. Will be changing mine out today. Thanks for the video!!!
Bro I never comment on RUclips videos but this was so perfect and to the point without all the other BS and I really appreciate your sense of humor and your units of measurement 😂 you’re doing the Lord’s work, keep it up 🫡
About two weeks ago my ABS warning light came on my 2016 RAM Larine pickup. I took it to the local dealer and told me it was the ABS module that controls the braking. They said they would order one and let me know in a few days. That was on a Friday. I received a phone call the next Monday telling me the module had come in and to bring the truck over for repairs. I believe the module cost about $ 1,200 plus labor. When I purchased the truck I bought the Mopar Max-Care lifetime warranty. That covers over 5,000 on the truck for 1,000,000 miles and is transferable. I paid my $100 deductible and the warranty covered everything else. I'm sure glad at that time they offered this warranty. My 7 year old truck just turned 32,000 miles.
Thanks for great video, including socket sizes is a big help! Cut down on trips to tool box. Nice to be able to see what I was getting in to. Keep up the good work.
Like the video man just recently got a ram myself to play with, gonna say though I use drilled and slotted rotors myself. I noticed in your vid the slots on yours angle back instead of forwards, if you’ll switch them where the slots cut forward you’ll be able to tell even more of a difference,.
The rotors were marked driver and passenger, but they also go with the common theory that the vents are to take hot air away from the center of the rotors, wouldnt flipping them have them pushing air to the center, Feel free to school me more, Im no specialist, and love hearing new tips and tricks.
The 2011 Ram 2500 4x4 comes with a plug - not the whole cable and plug Went to the autoparts store and bought both front sensors and rear sensor Hopefully this will do the job
Thanks for the video, awesome commentary. Question: how did you know it was the front sensor that was faulty? Or did you just replace all 4 of them? I'm getting the ABS light on my dash but don't know which sensor is faulty.
Starting at 1:47 I explain how i determined which sensor to replace, ....go to your local Ram dealer, Let them know your there to buy an abs sensor and that you want to be sure as to which one to replace, They can scan it and tell you exactly which one it is. After that you'll know which one weather you decied to buy from them or not. They typically dont charge to scan like that but I offer to tip anyway. Hope this helps! 👍
Did you know? Just an fyi. Those little crown looking things are actually put on at the factory so the rotors don't fall out of place while the truck is on the assembly line. Other than that..good job on the video!
Great video my 14 two wd abs started acting up today took it to auto zone The scan showed nothing and no light on.. should I just start replacing all sensors?
You can buy a new wheel hub that includes a new ABS wheel sensor for around $115 USD. If you have over 80,000 miles you should replace the the front wheel hubs. Dealerships will often replace just the sensor and the customer will return it back and get a huge repair bill for requiring a new set of front wheel hubs to stop the issue with the abs light.
Nice feedback! I did note in the video that I had a hub noise too, so I'll look into it, But for now the sensor was the only existing issue and much cheeper fix in itself. If I do end up doing the hub I'll be sure to upload that video too!
By any chance do you have any idea if this is the same sensor for electronic brake system? Cause I'm having problems with electronic brake system light and I can't find any video related to that. If not let me know if you know anything about it, thank you. By the way great video
They do feed into that system but may not be the issue with it, the best thing I can recommend is taking it to the dealership and asking them to read the troubleshooting codes for you, they have the capability to tell you exactly what to replace and shouldn't charge an arm and a leg to read the codes.
Exactly how many sensors exist? I replaced the the left front and left rear today. If there are sensors on the right side I feel like I should do those too.
Dude I have a 01 1500 5.9 or 360 Magnum I would like to know what you did to your exhaust I need my truck to sound good like that I would appreciate the information thank you
One other thing do you have an idea why my speedometer while I'm driving I've replace the speed sensor in the transmission the ABS speed sensor on the rear end I can't figure it out
Did this wheel speedsensor cause any lights. My OBD2 says left front wheel speed sensor, and I got ABS, traction control, and service 4x4 lights on because of this wheel speedsensor.
My best suggestion would be to assure you have purchased the exact replacement part for that make and model and use that part to help you locate just how far away from the hub you may be looking, some go passed the inner fender liner. Hope this helps!!
I NEED HELP!!! Question: My 02' 1500 ABS light is blinking and beeping... nonstop. If the truck is running, it's beeping. It wouldn't start one day and I had my son tow me home. He's not very experienced at taking off at red lights, without yanking me and the truck.... So I kind of rode the brake, trying to keep the slack as tight as possible. Once the no start problem was fixed, and I started the truck, the ABS light and beeping started. Any ideas why? Could it be from my riding the brake while being pulled/towed? Thanks in advance.
My best advice would be to get it to a dealer so they can read the code that is throwing the light, there are several reasons that light comes on the best way to pin point it is to have the code read and go from there.
My un-professional advice, Take a sheet rock screw and a power drill, Soak the left over sensor with wd-40, Drill the sheet rock screw into the plastic portion that was left behind, preferably in a center area with the meat! Get the screw at least 1/4 of an inch into the plastic and then grab the screw head with pliers and lightly jerk on it in small increments it should pop out.
May even be wise to pre drill an 1/8th inch hole about 1/4" deep prior to setting the screw to prevent the sensor from cracking when you run the screw in it.
I ended up taking the smallest bit drilling around the metal part of the sensor. That broke the integrity of it, an spun it out. Felt forever, but took bout 30 mins being very careful not to drop anything in there. Thanx bud! Appreciate it
Hands down the most legendary video on RUclips I wouldn't have been able to replace mine without this video you are a legend sir
MUCH APPRECIATED!!! You're a LEGEND for taking the time to show me love! If you have anything else you like to see in the future just let me know!
I'm a 64 year old an I'm using this video to do it myself. Thx

Hey brother. I want to thank you for the video. Just finished doing front left and it was pretty smooth going
I appreciate it!

Thanks!!! Means a lot to see this was a helpful video!
Thanks for the video. I use to live in the 361 padre island miss it mucho
Right on! Padre has some nice scenery. Appreciate the support also buddy!
if your 2018 is the same as a 2006, you don't need to removethe calipers, just remove the two large bolts in the back and remove the whole assembly,
Great video 📹 👍🏽
Know I can work on mine. Thanks for the info

Thanks brother - this video was both very helpful and entertaining!
Awesome!!!
Perfect video. But makes red tab thing look easy. I broke mine off but it still locked together
Thanks for the video gonna be doing this along with a brake job soon….
Not a problem! Thanks for the interaction! Hope everything goes as smoothly as possible for you!
Great work
Thank you so much 😀

Autozone Can tell you also. Go in and do the scanner the paper will tell you. Just got it done on mine💪🏼
Great vid. Do you have one that shows how to replace the rear?
Not yet
Thanks for putting the tools on there it helps a lot truck sounds great by the way
fricken awesome video man thanks so much wicked JOB simple and concise exactly what perfect video should be well done
Pretty detailed but I know it will take me all day to do that 😂
It was really a quick 30 min even with having to be descriptive while filming.
so my 2002 2wd dodge 1500 does not have front speed wheel sensor but i get a code that throws the speed wheel sensor
so idk what to do.

Take it to the dealer and ask them to scan, their system does a more extensive search for the issue.
Thanks
@@Rep361Texas it won't let me tag you in my question. It is under the post by Dylan. Do you mind reading it and giving any advice? Thanks!
Remove the 21mm bolts 1st and remove caliper and bracket in 1 pc.

I have to do this plus find another electrical pigtail to connect it to. Tire blew out and ripped sensor in half plus electrical connector.

...ALSO! .....Thanks for showing love! 🤙🤙
When you were showing the part number, you mentioned the drivers side. You were doing the passenger side. Which is it?
@@bjl1226 Passenger

Welcome back
I cant walk away from this, just needed a little "brake" 😏

What Europe truck are you working on?
Did this wheel speedsensor cause any lights. My OBD2 says left front wheel speed sensor, and I got ABS, traction control, and service 4x4 lights on because of this wheel speedsensor.
My code reader will not read this. If I took it to advance or autozone will there code readers tell me exactly what one went bad?
Why didn’t you Just remove the two bolts for the bracket and pull the whole caliper and bracket off as an assembly?
How do you know which speed sensor is out? My abs is kicking on randomly without a light.
Take it to the dealership and ask the service department to read the code, The code will tell them exactly which on you need to replace.
Would there be a code without the ABS light on?
On my 2004 ram the plug for the abs isn't to be found near the wheel. Any suggestions on where it originates?
My best suggestion would be to assure you have purchased the exact replacement part for that make and model and use that part to help you locate just how far away from the hub you may be looking, some go passed the inner fender liner. Hope this helps!!
What do I do if that Allan bolt is stripped??

Great vid. Getting milk 😂
Is it only one ABS sensor on these truck
service abs braking system soon, 4 wheel drive temporarily unavailable. These are more of the codes you will see. Thanks just changed mine
Are these on every wheel?
Hey bud, i removed mine, but it broke off in there flush, any advice or resolution to get it out of there? Thanx!

You don't need any of these... why did that sound so sketchy?
Where ur break locking up ???
Not at all.
