Practice go slow and try a few test ones it took me a while to and there was a lot of bad things said but this really is the best and fastest way to make french knots once you get the hang of it.

Am I seeing this correctly? You're doing the knot in the middle of a stitch (or in the middle of a post of a stitch), instead of between two stitches?
