I'm just getting mine in next week (93 japanese import) and probably in a similar condition. Your videos look like a great addition to the whole documentation I already have ! Thank you Sir and Hello from France !
Great video, the boy sounds like a normal human being, just doing what we amateurs do at home, just bits at a time learning as we go along, it will be good to see more of the bikes progress, keep up the good work.
Those screws for the seats are original, The seat covers are because the seat is very smooth n holds your ass better it won’t slide off . I own a 86 Vmax
I have one , a full power 1991 import and it is very reliable, needs little maintenance and goes well. BTW it handles at speed and I have no front end wobble at any speed at all ! R.
I thought about it at the beginning but I love the ride too much and now has become my main bike of choice to ride. So I'm keeping it unless the offer is one I can't refuse.
Sorry mate but no way is that even close to the cheapest v max on the internet. That bike is mint and no it's never been outside. Don't be ashamed that you can buy nice bikes. I bought a 1995 v max for $1800 USD and it was a mouldy, rusty pile of 🐄💩 but the engine ran well. Your bike is a million times nicer

How can anybody neglect such a beautiful iconic bike
Also check the rectifier, behind the left passenger footrest... They have a habit of going bad 👍
had 1 of these at same time as a Honda V65. They were both a huge amount of fun. Could send a pic but don't know how.

And you got it for how cheap? You never say?
If only I could find one like that here in Mexico
