Thank you for the video im about to pick 2 vx110 sport today one of them engine needs rebuilt the other one not sure i will be making videos to see how this project will go
I just bought a vx110 with REALLY low compression. It took on water and sat for years. I tried to get it running. I have spark and fuel, but it will not run. It coughs, but not enough to start.
The fact that it turns over is positive. I suggest you do a leak down test to figure out if it's leaking from stuck rings or valves. The latter can be sometimes be remedied with the motor in the ski. It involves removing the cams and tapping on the valves to loosen them (while a leak down tester is attached).
Before you go down the leak down route, I should also add: (1) Remove the injectors and have them cleaned and spray tested--very important; (2) empty the fuel tank and add fresh fuel (3) remove the air filter if it's oil soaked (3) new spark plugs. If you do manage to get it started, add some Yamaha Ring Free to the fuel and "run it like you stole it" for an hour or two. Then do another compression test.
