I’m glad Parris brought up the Wii U. People forgot how bad that was at launch and they scrapped it so quick lol I thought Nintendo wasn’t going to recover but they did. Xbox can too albeit without traditional exclusives. The reason Nintendo overcame that was the switch was innovative and it had a killer game at launch… Zelda BOTW. In my opinion Xbox failed because they thought they could keep regurgitating Halo, Gears, and Forza and that would get them by. They never created new interesting IP to keep people engaged and it doesn’t count if you buy IP that we were already getting.

It’s not a bad thing overall, but it does diminish the value of the purchase someone who picked an Xbox Series over PS5 because they had the expectation that was the only console they would be able to play a game like Fable or Perfect Dark. This exclusive expectation with the purchase has been in place for decades. Had they known these games were coming to PS5 they might have gotten more value just buying a PS5 instead. Other than that it doesn’t really matter.

PlayStation started bringing their games to PC…..but they still kept their games exclusive to their ecosystem. Nintendo is making shit tons of money keeping the same path. Xbox is just doing this because they are money hungry not because they give two shits about being consumer friendly. Trust me when I say this. The day Halo goes to PlayStation is the day millions of millions of Xbox fans will turn their back on this brand. Things are already teetering and this would be the final straw. Sure maybe I won’t be able to play Gears E-Day day 1…..but so what. I can literally wait 4-6 months to play it on PlayStation with all the bugs ironed out and probably with a few extra characters to boot
