I think it means I need 1 but you know.. "maths."
Such bad acting with cold Jokes. I am just here because of Linus. Otherwise, I never would have been here. Please, Linus, take action. Tech news is perfect, but the action is so freaking bad. The whole time, I was thinking about what Linus had done. THe narrator is excellent as human being but jokes and acting yikes. I just want to say to parents, please don't appreciate your kids if they start doing bad acting like this; otherwise, they can ruin tech news for someone later.
A GPU developed by a single person is insanly impressive, the fact its a 3D accelerated GPU is even more impessive
How would you even get yourself started with something like that? It's not like I can just go to the store and buy some wafer chips

Presumably you could prototype it using an FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array, using a language like VHDL or System Verilog you can essentially define how you want the programmable logic to wire itself up and how to connect itself. There are limitations of course but as an example you can even instantiate a whole processor which can run Linux inside an FPGA. You can also get FPGA's with ARM cores attached to them in an integrated fashion, see Xilinx(now owned by AMD) Zynq FPGAs.@@dominicharvey6048
Fact. Cell companies are still using too many ancient microwave hops for backhaul which cannot support the speeds of 5G.
Not shocked at all considering ISPs could be getting 2 gig symmetrical on existing runs if they just update their end equipment
I do not speak the language you two are speaking
isn't that ping not bandwidth though?
Reminds me I need to turn off 5g. When it hits UW it just doesn’t work. My dad’s dial up in 1995 loaded pictures of Tiffany Amber Thiessen faster.
Maybe in first world countries lol
I read that as 5.56 and that's real freakin' NATO
Same, read the thumbnail as 5.56 and was super confused for a few seconds.
LOL, I was going to watch Tarky when this dropped and thought the same.
I need it, I got it, I want some more of it
Hehe, I see what you did
Still prefer 7.62 myself lol
Wow, tech news was pretty good tonight. Not a single story that sent me into an existential crisis.

After watching for years Louis Rossmann try to operate a small business in NYC and fight against it's own bureaucracy I can fully understand why a AI would look at the system and tell you to break the law.
Because no matter what you do you are in violation of something for merely existing let a lone operating a business.

It's a bit like LTE, they didn't call it 4.5G but that's pretty much what it is.
False, LTE came even before the 4G standard, and was included on it later on. There is however a LTE Advanced that some call LTE+
LTE is more like 3.75G than 4G
@@sangaoduy6347soooooo is there a 3.5G? Is it the H+ I almost always saw on a 3G network?
Is LTE and 4G LTE different?
But you guys haven't even heard about 7G MTE
Reminds me of how we got LTE here on Turkey. We got 4.5G because it's a bigger number which is just LTE Advanced. Also our president was like just "we should wait out 4G and just get 5G instead" in like 2015 lol. We now have 5G only in like one airport lmao.
That is very Erdogan
If it helps, most of America has "5G" which is actually at&ts ancient 4gLTE network with the name changed in software.
@@Lyoishi Yeah but T-Mobile and Verizon had real 5G, AT&T is garbo
@mycelia_ow @mycelia_ow I went to double check, turns out all 3 companies operate multiple spectrums of mislabeled 5g and have just basically agreed that a lied to consumer is a happy consumer.
Usually called low band, mid band(c band), and mmwave.
And even if the correct spectrum is being used it may be speed limited for various reasons.
All future 3gpp releases seem to have this multi standard approach, so the actual capabilities of the device will no longer be represented accurately by 5G or 6G.
i thought the chinese wouldve called it 6g for political purposes. "6G is considered a key technology for economic competitiveness, national security, and the functioning of society. It is a national priority in many countries and is named as priority in China's Fourteenth five-year plan.[33][34]"
also i hope they didn't steal it from us.
"In a significant technological advancement, Finnish telecommunications company DNA has successfully tested 5.5G technology in its commercial mobile network, achieving speeds of more than 10 gigabits per second." 13 DECEMBER 2023
7:33 You're certainly not wrong that it would have been a good idea to deal with all the legalities up front, but honestly when I started I had no idea I'd actually end up here. There's a big gap between "hey, that's neat" and "people might actually find this useful in some capacity"!
Wish you the best, man! That's a pretty awesome project.
I need a working 5G first. Where I live 4G is faster than 5G and has also better ping.
Most likely its 5G over LTE frequency
I came here to say the same on my iPhone 15pro max I wish I could turn off 5g for both my networks I use.. EE e-sim & physical Sky(O2) sim..
You literally can turn it off…

If something should scare folk is that Apple can update a phone that should be new and turned off in a box, for do that not imply that it is possible to install a new software on it in some situations where the phone is off, like when "security personal" say you can not bring a phone and it need to be stored in a box, "for safety" or "prevent cheating", who knows the range this can work on?
Yeah... For this to work, it seems the phone has no internet connection available yet, no sim, no wifi, so in theory it needs to verify the signature of the update offline, if an attacker learns how to forge a signature, that will not be verified online, it could push a jailbroken update with some malware, couldn't it?
So you could be buying an already infected device?
I'm really curious HOW they actually protect this "feature", it smells like a potential vulnerability down the line to me.
that ANYmal looks like the most cursed insect robot killer horror thing i have ever seen. imagine one running right at you and just not tripping over anything, looking like the damn exorcist
What phone can even make use of 5Gbps download speeds? That's faster than any phone's internal storage for Pete's sake.
It may be used in cellular wifi networks.
yea, like, when do we get ssd speeds like in pc om mobile please
@@Ikxi that would be expensive and you don't need that much speed for a phone.
@@IkxiI don't need SSD speeds on my phone. But when do we get SSD-like storage on phones without being extorted? The answer was microSD cards before phone makers unilaterally took them away (except for Sony, I know), and nowadays you will still find a meagre 128GB in an 800€ phone like Samsung S24 or iPhone 15, and you'll be paying a ton for more storage on those devices. It's something like 500€ extra to get 1TB, when 2230 SSDs with this capacity are well below 100€.
Cloud storage is NOT a proper answer, since it still is extortion (based on current pricing), but via a regular subscription instead of a one-time payment.
In some cities in yurp 5g has become a strong alternative to fiber (like when you use your phone as a hotspot but a dedicated router for specifically that). A new higher bandwidth cellular standard could be useful for that.
Two things around cellular. I’ve been in the industry for almost 20 years now.
North America doesn’t want 5.5 G because of the way cellular infrastructure is currently laid out. There is not enough densification to support high speeds like what you’re saying in the video between repeaters and microwave hops. You won’t see speeds like that like ever.
RCS stands for rich communication services not rich chat services.
rural people dont need no god dang inturnut. life was better befur internut. 5g causes brain waves anyway talking man sayd so.

You know to me the biggest problem with these rapid advancements in network speeds, etc. is that it doesn’t really matter if they continue to make the source ultra super fast if the pipeline itself cannot do anything to support it. I believe 6E cable can handle 1500 Mb I think someone can correct me, but we’re limited beyond what we can do with the pipeline that supports all the network because, the manufacturers infrastructure has to be upgraded to make it all work good.

5.5G exists and germany still wants 20€ minimum for like 5gb of 5g which 95% of the time will be LTE because 5 G outside of berlin and munich is a rare occurance
5G will always be more prominent in large population areas as it's more economically viable.

I know that very few countries sold 6GHz bands so far, but I think that is still part of the 5G. Even the speed of the 6 Ghz bands was the main selling point of the whole 5G. It is very expensive to build and in lots of countries even the lower 5G band network is not available everywhere.
