      His arms aren't extending all the way, is only barely getting his chin above the bar, and his reps are not slow and controlled. Still impressive though, not judging him at all. Good form is mostly only necessary for long term training. If you're going for a PR, then who really cares?

    • @NetherHawk
      @NetherHawk Месяц назад

      @@elian7786 It's good form but not perfect. Goose-necking to get the chin over the bar is far from perfect. If he was challenged to do the same without doing that, he'd do far fewer. Coming from someone who's trained pull ups for a long time - always with as perfect form as I can get until I can't sustain it. Also, slow and controlled is somewhat linked to good form - it shows that you have mastery over the movement and don't require external help (such as momentum) to get it done.

    This is one of the best and cleanest pull-up videos I've seen when it comes to numbers. Two days ago I tried and did 24, my weight is 90 kg. But the form was 8/10, because I start neglecting it while understanding that my grip strength will let me down, so I do them quickly and in this process I think I sometimes don't go all the way down. On the other hand, I need to find higher bar in order to have my legs straight because when one wants to do max, he needs space in order not to start swinging. Amazing job. Hope I will cut a few kilos and one day be able to perform 30.

    it wasn't perfect form, but what you did definitely counts as solid pull ups. Chest to bar type is a completely different type of pull ups. This is the standard, classical pull up. Every drill instructor would accept that

I was doing that almost every day whenever I'd have some spared 10 or 15 minutes and I parred with some simple barbell training twice or three times a week. Try to engage your scapula when you do the dead hangs.
