Tnx Len for sending, I luv this song too much from their reunion tour...... Blackmore's still kickin' ass in here lol! legends....havbe a nice day.... I put this on my favorites!
Very interesting and good! Thank for it! Interesting how they played it about 25 ys after this hit was born. When they started here "Burn", I was a bit afraid of not getting the top (very well composed) melody of Speed King guitar solo, but came from 4:17:)
best combination of wild ass hamond an ritchies untouchable guitar speedy work,no humn beings in history could play like ritchie an jon..hendrix would stare an shake his head,no on could touch blackmore ever period..he proved it..
It's funny. When Ritchie started to play "Burn", Jon followed him just for a while. Then Ritchie kept on playing the riff, but Jon was doing other thing. I'm almost sure that Jon knew that Ritchie was doing it just for annoy Gillan, so he stopped the mess, holding Ritchie. A real lord.
To my ears Blackmore plays the main Burn riff 6 times over and Lord joins in for the last 5 riffs. They both stop playing it at just about the same time. Blackmore makes an obvious stoppage for Lrd to pick up on and Lord continues playing in a loosely similar fashion to his solo in Burn.
Blackmore and Lord played the Burn riff together in Australia (December 1984), as part of the Speed King middle section. I got the impression that it was the first time they had done it as the look of displeasure on Glover's face (towards Blackmore) is priceless!
They have been doing this for long, staring from 80's. So, it wasn't "surprise" for Gillan. They had done this many times with Gillan being in the band.
Yep... the spacefuckin' cowboy is right -- Ritchie's last show was Helsinki '93... you can even get those last shows in a 4-cd box set. I have it and there is some good stuff to be heard -- check it out if you haven't already.
Joe Lynn was better in Rainbow! He was, sadly, sooooo wrong for Purple, even if he's a great singer :-) IMO Gillan is the only right singer for DP, but MKIII with Coverdale and Hughes wasn't halfbad either.....before Hughes drug habit kicked in! Burn is a brilliant album, Stormbringer was a "a mixed affair" but a great collection of songs.
They played the "Burn " riff in 1985 (Knebworth) while Gillan sat on an amp and kicked his legs. All rehearsed. At this last show it was more Ritchie refusing to play at all most of the set because of his "Medieval bondage outfit" going on backstage that got him fired. He was also really "noodling in a blues scale" at this point rather than bothering to play the iconic solos. Love the man but something had to give.
They do need to have Ritchie blackmore playing there with deep purple and they should have him in there but their not going to let him play with deep purple again thats too bad too .
purple isnt purple without ritchie . and thats no slight on steve morse he's a great player but i dunno man it dont sound right without ritchie. ive saw purple at hammersmith in '09 and ritchie was conspicuous by his absence
he shouldn't have quit deep purple!!! c'mon, so he likes to play his boring medival music but that's not a reason to leave such an amazing band he can play what he likes on his own but stay in deep purple... damn guess it's too late to talk about it now, just a shame...
well.. sorry to pop peoples balloons.. but this isn't the last show. the last show was in norway. my father and brother was there and I've got the bootleg... this isn't it.
Vocals are a major part of Rock-Music. And who wants to play decades with someone who lost his voice, as everyone can hear it in the vid. The DP-Fans are stupid to invest their money in a bad singer, only for romantic & nostalgic reasons. Ritchie found a good singer again in Romero. Or hear this example. This is the way how it has to be ruclips.net/video/EfLYvbRi0zA/видео.html
Brilliant …guitar sounded so good !
The great Blackmore
i love this band !
I was there! My friends by me ticket because i have birthday 17.11.Best birthday ever!

Very cool indeed!
A música mais pesada do rock. Demais.
Ritchie is god on the guitar, listen. watch, and cry!
The last show was due to the eternal feud with Gillan !

What a story Mark
They have been doing this for long, staring from 80's. So, it wasn't "surprise" for Gillan. They had done this many times with Gillan being in the band.
People always trying to make something out of nothing
Very Nice !
Thanks! ...One More Time !
Daaaang Ritchie Blackmore is completely shreddding my face off here
Cheers for this!
Good job!
Peacey seemed to be in a great shape !
my guitar teacher was at the last concert from the original line up
I was there finish in finland t. Ari K in Kuopio
BUMMER !!
Correct, the reason being, there is no footage of Speed King, so I put a bit of Highway Star in just ..well for something to look at really
Yep... the spacefuckin' cowboy is right -- Ritchie's last show was Helsinki '93... you can even get those last shows in a 4-cd box set. I have it and there is some good stuff to be heard -- check it out if you haven't already.
@Conneyfogle yes there is. i have this show on DVD and highway star is on there.

To be clear, this is Gillan singing.
Saw turner fourth row with purple he was great . Especially on smoke ,perfect strangers, knocking at your back door and lazy. Real good job on burn
@gloople oh yeah, I got confused, what I meant was there wasn't any Speed King vid, I'll up HS sometime
The video is not connected to the song we hear
Upload the full show!
Point taken.
awesome technique.
also rock.
They couldn't be further away from each other either

RB wasn't fired, he left the band
@@sbgaming5006 true, he walked out.
In Helsinki Finland?
Man playing "Burn" must have been a nice 'fuck you' to Ian Gillan.
Bullshit! They played it because Ritchie likes the riff. Nothing personal against Gillan.
I would have liked Ritchie to play a song from Come Taste The Band. I know his style is different, but Mk2 playing Comin' Home would have been cool.
@@micowikstrom7182 Ritchie is a pretty crazy dude....you never know
Yeah, it's the only bit of footage there is!
Вообще то, это видео-ряд с "Highway Star" (((
WTF....You put a song over a different concert video?

Now all we got left is Tony Iommi. Cool mix though.
Why does Ritchies tone keep jumping from rock to Nile Rodgers? Volume? Dodgy lead?
Volume control. Ritchie used it extensively.
Blackmore makes it look like it’s nothing.
Would have been funny if Ian came on after Ritchie had played Burn, and started singing it, I wonder waht Ritchie would have done?
Clive Bindley carried on
Ritchie would have stopped and cut Gillan dead. That's exactly what was going on all the time.
@@pauljohnson7461 lol that's bullshit
Audio doesn't match the visuals

cant replace genius with average
Lol @ 3:11
Ritchie ohne dich ist es nicht mehr Deep Purple. eddy8156
I wish Gillan had sung Burn.
Ian Gillan's massive ego, proud and arrogance don't let him sing songs from Burn, Stormbringer and Come Tase The Band.
Video is wrong. But it is okay.
There isn't one .. sorry, not from this concert anyway
@Conneyfogle ; )
Sad
It is a shame that Ian Gillan's massive ego, proud and arrogance never let him sing songs from Burn, Stormbringer and Come Tase The Band.
Yes, unfortunate. I think Gillan could have done Burn very well. He was clearly unhappy that the band did so well without him.
Burn
Gillan's voice is bad. He has no control over his top end. Never got it back again.
He Sounded Better Between 1969 and 1973. :)
Brandon Callaway - well duh 😆 it’s called age people
@@jessemcdonald3836 yes and no
Not agree with you. He is fine in this song, very very hard to sing. Give me one singer able to do this song with the same power!
Karl Johnsen - yes and no? What?! How can he possibly sound the same?
WTF? Video and audio are 2 different songs. What a mess.
Ritchie' so stiff here, hes definetely not enjoying himself
well.. sorry to pop peoples balloons.. but this isn't the last show. the last show was in norway. my father and brother was there and I've got the bootleg... this isn't it.
That was two days before this
Hehe@@Dibbdroid
yet another dp video that has nothing to do with the soundtrack
Too bad Ritchie left instead of Gillan
