The manual was so confusing and it was so hard to find the info I needed - it was so much easier to watch your video - thank you for sharing it with us!
I work at Lowe’s and I bought this a while back and tonight I had to use this magnificent Craftsman inflator for my low, almost flat tire. Saved my butt! Love this machine! Awesome review!
For how long u have it now?
The new Craftsman 20V does not have the stellar reputation of the old 19.2V power tools but I am finding that that they are a great value for money for DIY jobs. I have had this inflator last 3 years and it is a stellar performer. I also got a 20V impact wrench and a drill from Craftsman. Very happy overall.
Nice to see someone give a positive review on z craftsman. I ordered one of these and am picking it up tomorrow. Actually, Ace sold a charger and 2 2ah batteries for $79 and get a free tool. This is my free tool. Can't beat that!
What a great tutorial! Clear and concise! Helped me out so much. Thank you! 👍🏻
Just bought this exact model to keep in my jeep for whenever I need it. I plan on camping as much as i can this summer and you never know when you may need to air up tires on your vehicle or someone else's vehicle so im looking forward to using it when the chance comes
Austin, TX >> Bought one yesterday for my tires. It's such a hassle to use the ones at the gas station especially because I don't always have enough quarters with me, and I don't ever want to use my charge card on those machines. It works like a gem. It was so easy. LOVE IT!!
Quick and to the point, excellent
I just got this and used it on 2 low dump truck tires as a test. We run these tires at 100psi. The 1st tire went from 91-100psi in about 10 minutes. The 2nd tire went from 78-91psi then QUIT giving error "E9" on display. This was using a 4.0ah battery and i think it was just an overheating safety feature but not sure because the manual says nothing about errors. Air pump didn't feel hot and it was also 24F here in middle TN when I tested it yesterday. The 12v cord worked but still very slow.
Big truck tires 100+psi 👎
Smaller tires 30-40 psi 👍
Best, most complete review on RUclips. Been at this computer for a couple of hours already, thanks for helping me make up my mind.
Thank you for saying so! I greatly appreciate the feedback!!
Tight! Thanks! My dad just sent me one of these and your tire demo was killer!
Thanks for the video. I was looking at inflators and while the Craftsman power tools are not great, this looks like a good device. I have a spare Craftsman V20 battery and charger with no tools so I'm going to pick this up.
Craftsman has been pumping (no pun intended) some videos out! 😂 Nice to see another one from you! Thanks!
Thank you! More on the way! :)
Just got that & heard great things about it ty for the video 👍
Please keep the Craftsman V20 reviews coming. All the other RUclips channels that do tool reviews for Milwaukee, Dewalt, Makita, or the Harbor Freight brands.
Thank you. I've got a few more coming!
Thank you so much. I bought one of these a couple years ago and have been fighting with it each time I need to inflate a tire or two. The manual is so confusing! All I wanted to know is how to use the automatic shut-off; and which buttons to push to inflate a tire. (I hate all those little pictures!) After watching your demonstration, I made notes on the front of the manual and now I don't fret when I need to use it.
Agreed, the auto-shutoff feature is not intuitive.
Good video. The 3 yr warranty is what really sold me on it.
I have this inflater and love it, except it no longer works off the v20 battery..l was using it in below freezing temps with the v20 battery to,inflate my snowmobile trailer tires and heard a “pop”, now it only works on AC or autoplug 12v. I love it so much though that I am almost thinking of getting another just because the v20 battery is so convenient.
I just picked up one of these, technically I bought the 4.0Ah battery at Lowes and it comes with a gift. I chose this. But my question is most tire inflators has a max duration time of operation and you need to give it time to cool down. I can't find the info. If you can help out, much appreciated.
Which nozzle is used for the Nozzle. I connected the Gold noxxle and it does nothing to the tire. Am I missing an adapter? Do I need to assemble a combination of the nozzles? Do I need to purchase a seperate kit for the tire?
Thank you!
Worked OK for 5 uses....went to pump up my air lift spring bags to 20psi to seat them...it did that....but then got an ERR code
The ERR code and digital gauge will be the demise of this product....the gauge operates the pump ....therefore it's game over when the gauge goes bad
No instructions on a reset for the code
You will be left with a mattress pump after that and stranded on the side of the road
I barely got 76psi on my load range e tires after 10 min
Should of tried the 150 millwaukee
I brought this tool with me when I came back to my country wherein the voltage power value is not 120 but 220v! my question: can I plugin in the wall with such voltage value?
Thanks. I bought this last night. Quickly tired of the manual (in seconds) and headed to RUclips.
Awesome!
Sold!
will these new tools work with their old "Bolt-On" line?
where can i locate the serial number for future warranty purposes? I had looked everywhere.
Is there a trick to getting it to stop when it’s at the specified PSI? Because mine hasn’t stopped and I believe I set it at a PSI.
I have issue with this Inflator when using the battery. When you fully charged the battery and use the inflator, it works, but when you keep that fully charged battery in the unit and decided to use it in a couple of days, unit will not light up again. The battery is still fully charged by pressing the battery built in charge indicator. It’s a freakin PITA to use.
does it auto switch on when PSI goes back down below the programmed PSI?
Mine is about a year old. Has worked great. It starts when attached to tire, but dies and doesn’t work. Any ideas?
just got one... it won't seal tightly on the tire stem so only pumping to 28psi before it stalls out with the air leaking out
Great review. BUT,,,How Long did it take? I've seen reviews for other portables where it takes 10 minutes from 22 PSI to 35PSI. That's 40 minutes just for 4 tires. Great in an emergency on the road but, it sure doesn't keep up with a standard pancake air compressor for at home maintenance.
@3:25 You don't?
It's inherent (and unavoidable) when measuring pressure at the "source" end of a hose which is pushing air through a constriction - either the hose itself or the tiny passage of the tire valve and stem. The tire pressure and the hose pressure will only equalize after the pump is shut off.
The tires in my cargo van are 90psi. Will 12v mode be able to handle this?
What unit would you prefer over this around the same price? Thanks!
Great video. Thank you! What is the SCFM of the compressor. How long did it take to inflate your 35 inch tires an additional 5 psi?
Not sure if it matters a year later, but it looks like this inflator is rated for approx 450L/min on the high volume side and 9L/min @35psi on the high pressure side.
How's it working compared to the new ridgid 18v?
Put this on a completely flat tire and it did not turn on to inflate. Any thoughts?
How long does it take to fill up from low air to full tire air
This thing is worth the money
Thank you, I had to buy one for my rv tires, woo-hoo, since my readers aren't good enough for the booklet.
This will air up a car or truck tires? If it does how long roughly?
Great video - to the point and gives the exact data you need! Thank you SO much! 🙏🇺🇸
But how do you air down tires with this 🤔 is it possible?
So how long did it take to inflate your tire to your desired PSI?? I have the Dewalt inflator & it's S L O W W W W...
how long is the lighter cord
Thanks for the review Chris. Does this have an option to add a Versatrack hook? From what I've seen in my short search it doesn't appear to, but please tell me I'm wrong.
Not that I can see, but I've added the hooks to things that didn't have a spot for them ;)
I like the units that have a analog pressure guage on the pump tube. Seems like a digital guage could break.
Can you reach all 4 tires with the 12v cord? Would of been nice to see it be able to reach all the tires.
I haven't really tested it in that way since I like to move it around from tire to tire to see the display, turn it on/off/etc. I don't think the cord is long enough though, to answer your question.
You didn't mention how long is AC Cord ?
I really need one of these. Will it work on my Trek road racing bike tires?
For sure!
Do you know if while plugged in and the psi dipped below the set psi does it turn back on? For example - I have my psi set to 13, the item gets to 13 psi and the machine auto turns off. If the items psi dips below 13 does the inflator automatically turn back on to keep the 13? Thank you for your response in advance!
Is the inflator noisy? Wondering if you have the decibel level for it? Thanks for a great review!
Thanks for the comment and for watching! Yes, it's very loud. I don't know what the dB level is (I have a meter so I should find out and update the description!) but I can tell you it's loud like most
89.7 decibels according to another video I saw.
HJow much is the battery
How do you charge the battery. Is the a separate charger?
Yup!
Every time I put mines on the stem it won’t blow any air in it. What do I exactly do? This helps but mines still will not blow when I press tire mode
Same issue i am having hooked it to a totally flat tire and it did not even turn on.
@@kevinbest1248 tried low psi?
It would have been a better test if he went from a flat tire to full instead of just adding 3 pounds.
Only an idiot would try to inflate a flat truck tire with a battery powered tool. This is fine for demonstrating a top-off without needing an outlet.
@@aluisious Ehhhh if you have multiple batteries and you don't feel like plugging in anywhere??? I don't think that makes him an idiot
Do you know how much CFM it puts out. Want to use this to inflate a standup Paddleboards and was told I need an inflator that puts out more then 1 CFM.
The website just states 160 PSI, no CFM rating. If you're looking to inflate something large like that, quickly, I recommend their pancake compressor (see my other video)
Not sure if still relevant a year later, but I'm looking at getting this unit for the exact same reason.. looking into it a bit deeper, I was able to find that CFM is 450L/min at high volume side and CFM is 9L/min @ 35PSI at high PSI side.
Stupid question. Anybody know if this charges the battery as well
Does it charge the battery when plugged into the 120???
No, it does not act as a battery charger AFAIK
Does it inflate a SUP? I have one and an adapter for SUP and it doesn’t inflate it..?
My quick Google search told me that's a Stand-Up Paddleboard, correct? If so, then yes it would. It might just take a while because of the amount of air required.
You forgot the link to the swan 😂
How long did it take to inflate the tire 3psi?
Not long... maybe a minute or less? For the video, I cut that part out :)
@@chris it would be cool if you could publish some times like from 0 to 35psi and 20 to 35psi. In the ground and jacked up?
How does this work on bike tires?
It's perfect for that!
How long did it take to blow up the pool toy?
It's been a while so I don't recall exactly. If I had to guess I would say 3-4 minutes. It was big :)
HOW DO YOU CHARGE THE BATTERY?
With the V20 battery charger.
Show the time to pump from 8lbs to full
More than 2 minutes, less than 5, 5.5 psi to 32 psi. I wasn't timing, but it didn't take long.
How long did it take to inflate that swan?
I don’t remember… It’s been so long now, but I think it probably took about five minutes.
SOB! I JUST RETURNED IT THINKING ( says no where on it or in manual it does "car" tires or moto!)SO I THOUGHT WELL FUCK ITS A CHEAP LITTLE 'TIRE' INFILTRATOR MUST ONLY B 4 BIKE TIRES & TOYS, WELL BUST MY BUTTONS DON'T I FEEL LIKE CRAP NOW & I GOT IT 2 DAYS B 4 BLACK FRIDAY U KNOW THERE AIN'T NO WAY HD OR LOWES GONNA HAVE 1 LEFT, THANKS 4 THE REVIEW
Hahaha crybaby
I bought this thing today and its a piece of crap... i tried to inflate my tire using a v20 battery. I got to 7 psi and cut off. Charged the battery and tried again. It got to 16 psi and cut off. Its acting like the battery isnt in it. No power what so ever.
anyone whos bought this has it held up over time?
Good content, disliked for the vertical video.
Understandable. Blame IGTV hype for that. Never to be repeated :)
Hello,...i purchased this with the sole purpose to DEFLATE BALLS in a faster way,,....with the needle nose,....BUT,...it's NOT doing it,...😢😢😢....This tool DO NOT have a button to switch it to DEFLATE BALLS like I was promised.
When they create and review these items,...they ONLY THINK TO INFLATE but NOT to DEFLATE,....Why,....
You have to use the thick hose if you want to deflate. Can't deflate with the high pressure hose.
TD BECUASE YOUR NOT TELLING ME ON A REAL JOB LIKE MY MOTO TIRE IS COMPLETELY FLAT > how long will it take? how hot does it get? will it burn out b 4 auto shut off? I MEAN COME ON MAN! HOW LONG CAN IT SAFELY RUN?
Why are you yelling?
