Hey Rob, at 9:45 the G7 has a * after it, what are the meaning of those. Just saw if while you were scanning through and didn’t know if it meant anything.
Be a thief, and keep it. Or have some ethics and return the $15 to the bank. I wouldn't hesitate to return it. Tellers get fired over errors like that.
I too search thousands of bill every year. Most times I don't make videos, but now and then I'll throw the search on my channel or live stream a search. I've found the wrong denomination in my favor a few times and it was returned to the bank. Not only does that improve your relationship with your bank, but in many cases a simple act such as that will give tellers incentive to give you a call when they find something interesting. Most tellers know what to look for, but oftentimes they don't all invest in what they find. Just a thought. Great video!
Craziest thing happened to me today. I went to the ATM to take some money out, and by no means am I currency searcher. Like I’ll check the numbers on my bills I get in change, but I don’t really go out of my way to look to much. Well I take 80 dollars out and I get 4 crisp 20 dollar bills that seem to be sequentially numbered. They were in MINT condition, and all of them were trinaries. I took some more out after seeing that. Wound up with 8 trinaries, 1 binary, and 2 star notes that were all crisp as can be. The majority of them are sequentially numbered too. I was stoked and I will definitely be searching my currency more in depth.
I work in a bank and today I had a woman exchange 65 singles for 3 20s and a 5. 64 of those 65 singles were 1957 series (A and B included) silver certificates, 3 of which were also star notes and all of them looked largely uncirculated. I bought 30 of them just for the cool factor and let a few other people exchange with me so they could have some of them as well.
@@RealAntek I collect local memorabilia for my hometown and surrounding towns, and have been garbage picking an old house that's being cleaned out. Found a pamphlet from a neighboring town bank and it happened to be inside!
This has started my new hobby and now its an obsession! , really cool video I was hoping you found more ! good information thanks man I didn't know what a "radar bill" was until now sadly.. keep the vids coming!! ...n as always stay happy and healthy!!

Jacob Gonzalez Coins- I believe that you might be just a "little" too much into searching for error coins and bills? Hahaha! Good luck!!! Will the bank accept unwrapped coins? How much trouble is it to get bulk coins from banks? I've heard that it can be a hassle. What about all the coins that are no longer wrapped up? Some places will weigh the coins to get the amount. Please let me know what is the best way to proceed. Thanks
Rob that 2013 $1.00 star note is part of a series that was printed twice . There is a place to register it and if the match is found it’s off to the auction for you.
Thanks for sharing. I found out one of my star notes is very rare from the link you shared! A ten dollar bill with 128,000 run size and total print of 1,280,000.
Makes me want to get a bank tec scanner and run at 600 per second and review in excell and use a Marco to sort...let me know when you want to automate. I would love to develop a polynomial that pridicts the value. Where can I find a dataset.
Hi Rob, the B 2013 dollar,, the serial number is in range for the 2014, and 2016 repeat print. ( Federal Reserve Duplicate Print Error ) Have you heard of the site matching the duplicate dollars, sure ya have, just checking. Thanks for all the information and getting us excited about starting our new hobby.
When I was in the Navy; down in ships laundry we used to press paper money and it would come out looking like a brand new bill. Give it a try, iron paper money with steam(that’s important) and see for yourself.
Nice finds Rob! I only gotten two old series notes in circulation in the last 10 years and they are getting harder to find. I always keep the ones I find in circulation.
My father has a friend who works a retail store and ordered 5s and got a 500 dollar stack of all sequential 5$ star notes. Havent gone through them to look at the numbers for fancy serial numbers but theyre all mint uncirculated in the band still
Cool job on the $20. I should ever be so lucky. I collect star notes for 2013 for the year my grandson was born. I got his brother on bills but silver certificates. Not a lot yet for either boy, but they have fun. Never have been lucky enough to come up with a bill other than what was supposed to be in the wrap. Heck even a dollar short once in one wrap. If you're interested in selling your 2013 star please let me know or we can trade something. Don't have a lot to work with but it's the fun of it that they like. Thank you very much. Good luck to you. Marge
I started to collect the star bills years ago when a friend asked me if I ever saw any. He said they are not spacial except the mint made a mistake with the serial numbers, but not valuable. Since then I have saved star bills to give to the grand kids for their banks ( birthdays ect, ). I have collected (15)$100, (23)$50, (247)$20, (768)$10, (326)$5, (87)$1 Notes. Thanks for the links. the grand kids might not be receiving any more stars for a while, HA HA HA. I also try to track my bills if they are registered on a web site.
If you still have your star notes.. go thru them and look for ( 2013 $1 B star notes). If you happen to find some I would love to hear from you. PLEASE CHECK. Thank You Donna
Cool thing about that 2013 B* $1 at the end, they accidentally printed those serial numbers twice. The smaller 250k print run was printed at DC, while a larger 6.4 million print run (B1*-B06400000*) was printed at Fort Worth. Yours looks to be from the more common Fort Worth printing, but because of the duplicate serial error, it's still pretty cool. There's a chance someone has the same serial number from the DC printing and you could match them up!
after watching these videos, i had started checking some old dollar bills that were just lying around the house and i had found a rare web note that was valued at forty dollars if in mint condition. unfortunately it looks like it had been passed around at least a hundred times, so the value is probably worth just a dollar, but now i'm fascinated by this stuff, not for buried treasure, but for the hunt itself.
Cool Rob. Thank's for sharing. I come across quite a few star notes at work. Most are not rare. I'm wondering if you can sell lots of not rare notes. Maybe if I build straps I can move them for a profit?
that one dollar bill star note you showed at the end (2013 (B) NEW YORK FEDERAL RESERVE NOTE ) ISNT THAT ONE OF THE DUPICATE BILLS THAT WAS PRINTED IN WASHINGTON IN 2014,THEN SAME BILL PRINTED IN FORT WORTH IN 2016?
Just found your channel and it was very informative, I love collecting old and new currency of all forms just due to it looking cool or a silver certificate not knowing that the serial number were that that important or their value. now after watching your video I will keep a sharp eye out for all I've learned today thank you.
Hello sir, I have a question for you. What is the value of a 2005 P Kansas quarter with the Bison error and the Rust error? Thanks for any information.
What does it mean when you find a star note on a 20$ that looks like the star note on a 50$ but a bit smaller not by the serial number but right under the United States of America?
I got a $20 in a pack of ones once. Counted them and they used the bill counter which counted the $20. So only had $80 in ones and the $20. Always count all the bills in the strap.
I wish I knew about this when I was Manager of BP.. We adv. About 1,500 a day to go back to the bank. It would have been interesting to be able to check those all out.
I think the right thing to do was give back the 20 dollars because I’m really good friends with a bank teller and she said they get in big trouble each time they give extra money
Hi Rob..I did not have the sound on, however, I noticed quite a few birthday notes I would have kept, yet you kept none..am I missing the point on the birthday notes? REALLY like your videos and content..
Isn't it funny how when searching we don't (I don't) see these bills as "valued money" like, ooh a $10 dollar bill! Nope, it's just, dang, no star note, serial numbers wrong...and just keep going haha 😄
Seeing the twenty in with the fives makes me nervous of the opposite happening. At least with lower bills there's probably less risk. It also makes me wonder how often you get a miscount, like a bill missing, in a stack and lose money. I'm wondering if the bank would do anything about it if you told them.
Those bank errors are very rare outside of the USA given that not only is the colour significantly different between values in almost every other currency but in a significant number of them the actual size of the note gets larger as the denomination goes up
I, just the other day, found 6 one dollar bills from 1995 in consecutive numerical order and they are in new crisp condition. I also found in the same stack of bills two 2017's consecutive serial number. I'm keeping them and maybe put them in a frame.
Never witnessed a bill search before verrrry interesting and informative thank you now I have to look at more bill searches lol great channel my friend
Was that $20 that you found in a roll come from a bank? And if so, doesnt the bank have a bill counter? How would it let another bill slip? Wouldnt it notify the banker?
All day long... I can watch bill hunting. Its mesmerizing... Or, are you using some sort of unconscious subliminal messaging...in between each bill...? Why do I feel compelled to eat Mac & Cheese or Chicken in a Basket Crackers? No wait... I must get a membership... yes... membership... LOL. Thanks, Rob!

This reminds me of how happy I was when I found a silver Rosie dime in a roll of Mercury dimes.
Oh, wait...
Never witnessed a bill search before verrrry interesting and informative thank you now I have to look at more bill searches lol great channel my friend
I don’t knwo if you collect in order bills or note but right around 4:10 there were 2 in order bills
at 9:44 there was a bill with fed bank designation as G7* any value there?
Was that $20 that you found in a roll come from a bank? And if so, doesnt the bank have a bill counter? How would it let another bill slip? Wouldnt it notify the banker?
All day long... I can watch bill hunting. Its mesmerizing... Or, are you using some sort of unconscious subliminal messaging...in between each bill...? Why do I feel compelled to eat Mac & Cheese or Chicken in a Basket Crackers? No wait... I must get a membership... yes... membership... LOL. Thanks, Rob!
Patrick Mooney 🤣
I'm new to this. Can you please explain the difference between run size and total printed? I'd appreciate it. Thanks!
Nice hunt Rob. I love the old bills. I get more excited about the old bills than I do the star notes lol. Stay safe
Rob, congrats on the $15 profit. That $5 was the bill I sent you along with a $1 with from 1985.
