- It's your lucky day, Mel. We're about to break you out. And in more ways than one.
Here I list "All Ways to Break Mel out of Jail" in Fallout 4. This is during the quest "The Big Dig" for Bobbi No-Nose. And I have to say, I've been yearning for a jailbreak. Which is happening right at the Diamond City jail. Perhaps there are some tiny details that you missed when trying this out.
I love making these type of videos where you get to decide the best ways to play out a mission, or choosing among the hardest decisions for something. In Fallout 4 there are a lot of secrets and rare encounters that are prime for that kind of thing. And searching for some secret ending in your own fan theories, or a theory you're currently developing, usually leads to interesting ideas. Smurfs.

As a guy who lives near Boston the Big Dig quest name gave me Vietnam-esque flashbacks to literal standstill traffic for miles. The horrors. The horrors.
Boston was a maze for me, lived in Bellingham and the the most hated place for me was New York City and after that Boston, unless you took the train and taxi everywhere else.
i was born in the boston area shortly (by which i mean a few years) before the big dig was at long last completed. i remember being about 7 or 8 years old and asking my parents what it was. i swear their eyes really did cloud like they’d seen war. i believe their initial description of it was something along the lines of “hell on earth”, which seems to be the consensus. as unhappy as i am with the immense amount of gentrification all the way into medford making shit unaffordable, i’m glad the worst boston driving thing i gotta deal with is morons on a rotary that meets 2 major roads and a highway

Shadow Dancer Think of a Synth as a Dwemer Automaton, only way more advanced. And far more human looking. As in indistinguishable from them if they're the best version of them. You'll have to convince the people of the Commonwealth that you aren't one of these Synths, except made to look more cat than human.

I like how this guy immediately goes into the guide. It's what we're here for, and he gives it to us. Good man
Actually, the first time I played, I discovered an even easier way by mistake. I just went in, talked to Mel, then I decided that I needed to buy more ammo before wasting the guards, 'cause I was down to the last magazine and a half or so. And I didn't feel like doing a Deadpool 1 with the ammo counter.
As soon as I walked out the door, bam, they just released Mel, quest stage complete. I guess the guard really meant it when he said that his sentence was almost over. As in, 2 minutes short of being over.
Ten seconds later, Mel walks out the door and I can recruit him.
Easiest quest EVER.
Far as I can tell, it's still not been fixed.

Love the mission with bobbi and mel, if you are low level, when found enemies you, bobbi and mel can be running away in circles from the mirelurks, zombies and stuff... best funny stuff in game looking for Bobbi's napia.

Well, I was watching this video and forgot to pause the game in the meantime. So, ten minutes later, I was still laughing at the last joke - and Mel got off the jail. Thanks for nothing, Mel!

I placed X6-88 in Covenant and nobody there complained about that, he seemed to get along rather well with the people there, well enough for him anyway.
So wait, mel knew he didnt have much time left in the cell and still wanted you to power on the robot so he can watch him kill everyone? madlad
I actually broke him out of jail by hacking the protectron, which made all the guards go to the back room where the protectron is, which ley me pick the lock to the cell since I didn't know where the key was.
(Once I freed him I felt bad, almost exited, let Mel go ahead, turned back and headed to the back room to see if I could change the protections personality. Unfortunately, I couldn't make it non hostile so I finished off the protectron before anyone died)

In my playtrough, I took the guards out with a knife, assassin style. Apoarently, if nobody sees you and you're using a one-hit kill silenced/melee weapon, nobody will be allerted to your presence, allowing you to kill every guard without having to mundanely finish off every other Diamond City resident... And then again, Mel asks if you do realize he'd have been released in a day...

Hey G!. Been subbed to you for awhile, you give the best on fallout lore and other things. But today i ran across something in fallout4, a door. Right beside the "East Boston Preparatory School" there is a diner with a few things in it(nothing too special) but across the street there is a building with a locked door, simply named, "Garage". Now I've searched the wiki, RUclips, google, and searched for a key or secret entrance myself. Nothing turned up at all. So..if you read this, and have time, would you look into it?

My approach, personally was to go in here and pay off the guards,then get Mel out, then I stole my caps back from guard.
