Really like Alien Gear stuff. Have several of their "Cloke Tuck" holsters I've been using for years now. Only problem with very good quality products is they don't get a whole lot of repeat business when their products keep lasting. I've recommended them to many others over the years. Cool to check out new innovations from them.
Hi Guys, Love your stuff and own your products. I have one observation I've been struggling with since I saw the release of this turniquet by Alien Gear . Knowing how EMS work/trains in my state. I wear a G code leg strap on my duty belt and have one on my training belt. I showed a few of my paramedic friends this product and asked them their thoughts. They said it looks like a leg strap and would be one of first things cut off when cutting clothing. "Nothing screams, this is a TQ". This would be dangerous to field without training or having some sort of training standard for your local/state EMS on what this device is.. So I will stick to the Cat gen 7 and your SOB kit.
Very interested to see the reviews down the road on how these hold up under every days use and abuse. Love the idea. My one big concern is that most of the folks I've seen online wearing them, especially as leg straps for their holsters, wear them high. So if they're designed to be used only as a way to "get off the X" where a CAT can be applied. That raises the question of how that would be possible if the strap is in the way? I guess you could go below the strap but that's def not going to be recommended. My concern is basicallythat they're designed to be used as a half measure, when in reality most will probably be using them to be a complete replacement for CAT or other certified tourniquet.
@@RefugeMedical I’m definitely ready to hear the results! Looks solid! Any word on SET-Mount testing? My local sheriff department deputy’s just all put them on their patrol carbines. Super pumped for what the future holds!
I have one safariland holster. It was my first level 3 holster. Then I bought more guns and found out about alien gear rapid duty and since that’s all I’ve bought. Not that safariland doesn’t do the job. Alien gear just does it a little better. I seen the taq strap a few months ago and really haven’t heard much about it so thanks for the input
I’ve had issues with mine. It once tightened and would not untighten when using the released button on the ratchet. This is a big issue because I have moved my leg in a certain way causing it to tighten on its own. When it tightens the gun becomes loose on my leg and flops arround. I was in the middle of my shift and now I had a TQ tightened around my leg that wouldn’t loosen, and my gun was not secure, as it was flopping around all loose. I had to take my whole gun belt off to fix it.
Let the big boys do a long term abuse test on it, and come back later. Good in theory, but I'm not sold for replacing, or even a back up for a real TQ. At least they are made in the USA...
Absolutely, it’s going to the range with us, and you know we test things to see if we can get to failure. It isn’t intended to be a replacement or even a back up, it is intended to be a “buyer of time”. If you are an operator, and you get hit, this would be the temporary solution before you can get to a safe place to apply your CAT7.
Thanks gents!
You bet!
Agree - Innovation is good.
Shalom y'all
I've been interested in this product but I think Randy would be an awesome guest for an across the table with Bob.
This has been a hot topic in the Howitzer Republic community, thanks for sharing Bob!
Thank you!
Lots of forethought in this design/application…
Shalom, Bob…

fantastic so something for residents of Chicago. would make a great Christmas gift in the hood.
This sounds like a great idea, overall. The sleeve sounds like a good addition.
Interesting
That's an R4 level game changer, if it's seen to be feasible.

This is a fantastic point. Really appreciate the input, blessings!

You bring up some valid points, we will make sure to do an update video once we take it out to the field.
Very cool design.
We are pumped to get out and field test it!

Very curious to see how it works under fire if you will
We shall see!

This is good to know
Would have missed this one if not for this coming out in my email. Really a sweet looking product except for the concerns about the buckle
Glad you caught the email!

This could be very useful for those who work with chainsaws....
Definitely could.
Guys would just pre stage cats if we were about to go do something sketchy. Idk about this thing. Might fit someone’s need.
If you can keep the Cat from falling.
I'm sorry but I only like cat g 7 or sof t.
We love those too. This is absolutely not meant to take their place. This is not an EDC TQ. This is a care under fire, time buyer.
Fyi, black sweat shirt , dim lighting , dark back ground , not the best for showing off a black product
Noted! Thank you for the input.
