What blows me away is despite she wrote all 3 songs, she says in the Long Pond Sessions, that she doesn't know who ends up with who. So there's Cardigan and then Betty from James' perspective and August is from Augustines perspective 30 odd yrs later. So it's all like an unfinished story. Maybe she wrote it like that, or said that to leave it up to us as to what might have happened.
@@thebundybear5557 ohhhh i thought betty took james back because she said the lines of “standing in my cardigan, kissing in my car again”..but maybe it is meant to be a cliff hanger.
@@ixe9ine. she does but if you watch the long pond sessions she says otherwise when she breaks the song down, I also repliued on the smallest man who ever lived question. Go read it so i can read it so i can remove it
Everyone staring at their notifications waiting on August 😂great job!! You kinda end up feeling badly for Augustine. Also, not sure if anyone has requested anything from the Midnights album, but You’re Own Your Own Kid is good!
betty forgave james too quickly imo😂 some other taylor song reaction recommendations: - you’re losing me (😭😭😭) - renegade (by big red machine featuring taylor. Justin from bon iver (guy from exile) is half of big red machine. The other member is Aaron dessner, one of taylor’s producers/collaborators😊) - end game - the black dog - dress
The original version is, instead of go to hell, it was to go f*ck myself, her smirking right before she did the clean version was so good. August is really good. You are one of the few people who has all the facts and have kept the story straight. I have to ask, did you do well in English class?
@@Violet316 wait original version ? there’s another ? and english was never hard for me, but i think the understanding more so comes from me being empathic and the life experiences i’ve been through myself.
@@ixe9ine. I hated English, especially having to dissect poems. Your word usage is also really good, especially for your generation. Yes, in the original version on the album, Taylor couldn't use the f-words because it was televised. She gave that little smiley smirk as she did the replacement words. Her fans were in disbelief. And her staring into the lens is hypnotic. Folklore is the first album she used the f-bombs, with the exception on All Too Well 10 minute vault track from her Red re-record.
Great reaction as always my friend but I always forget about this clean version and it just takes so much away from the song. Plus she sings it slower as well here. I just prefer the explicit version from the Eras tour or album...lol. The explicit just hits harder to me somewhat. Love your reactions as always though bud.😊🙏
@@Yephimł ohhhh i didn’t know she had a explicit version, what was her reason for making a “clean” one ? wait nevermind ill give it a listen now..and ppreciate you!!
@ixe9ine. Well she has a clean version for every album. And technically her first 3 or 4 albums were all clean anyway because she never cursed. But the last 6 or 7 albums (estimating) are all considered explicit because of cursing. But she has clean versions for everything. Singing live for certain things/or televised would obviously have to be clean, live in concert is always explicit.
Love when you make the connections 🫶❤️
