I think the voiceovers are great for people who want in-depth explanations of specific lines and interactions. Yeah, they're not as "emotion filled" or "dramatic", but that's what live streams are for.
I really appreciate your content, especially the recent RC prep matchup guides. Serious question though- as someone competing at RC portland and who is thinking about playing Frog, is UB Frog + Oculus a viable option? I feel like I get run over by WB blink and RG Eldrazi. What is your opinion on playing Frog at the RC? thanks
Good question. I think the deck has the tools to be positive in to boros, belcher, eldrazi, breach, amulet, and storm (6 of the top 9 on goldfish), assuming you feel comfortable with your game plan for each matchup and stick to it. People run in to trouble when they start wandering off and making plays without a real reason to. If you're expecting to play against blink 5 times, it's going to be an uphill battle, but statistically you should only see it a couple times. So summed up: If you feel comfortable with the lines in a vacuum, the deck is fine. If not, I would play something that punishes you less for stumbles. And really take a look at your 75 to see if you want to make any hedges. I think people are missing a lot of opportunities by not putting together a main deck that's better in to part of the meta a making a more drastic sideboard plan for the other half.
@ great advice. Im not a perfect Frog player, but i did qualify with the Occulus build when all my mirrors were standard Murktide, and have been playing it exclusively since then (although did play Creativity for a couple weeks after looting was unbanned) About your other comment or hedging in the main deck, what would you recommend for WB specifically? I was thinking 2x consign in the main + 2 in the side. What do you recommend to tackle the BW matchup? Of note, i am trying the esper version with 2 pest control main to take out their Vials Thanks!
stack your sideboard for boros/breach/eldrazi ramp if ohrzov is a concern maybe 1-2 torpor orbs some versatile good sideboard cards like stern scolding or e. explosives and hope to dodge the grist matchups
@ right on, thanks for the feedback. I've kinda been leaning towards stern scolding in the main. It has many targets in quite a few decks, but especially for BW blink as it counters Solitude and Skyclave. I'll try adding stern scoldings in the main. Thanks :)
Hiii, the current list posted in the description of the video doesnt match the showed on the video and also the one your playing on the league doesn’t match the one in the beginning of the video, why is that?
I always try to make a disclaimer that the list in the video is what I'm trying out, but the moxfield link is always my up to date "I would register this 75 right now" list. It keeps from having 200 deck links to lists that are only changing 1 or 2 cards from each other.
Esper is reasonable if you feel like you need pest control. At the moment, I don't feel like those matchups are bad enough for me to want another card against them, so I'm sticking with dimir. I also love harbinger of the seas too much.
If I didn’t watch you for your amazing gameplay and analysis , I would still watch for these fire thumbnails.
Best compliment of 2025
I’m still on sultai. Really digging Grist. Testing a single snapcaster in the main as well. Has done well so far. Keep on keepin’ on.
Grist is nice for sure, abrupt decay and collector ouphe were MVP cards for me in my Sultai testing so far.
Ah yis,back to gameplay!!
Get used to it while you can. I just hate that it was during the lagpocalypse
great content. i for one prefer the voice overs.
