The LDS church has 100 billion. They can take 1 billion and buy 3 large hotels in different areas between Salt Lake, Davis and Utah Counties. They can then charge the homeless $8 a night for a room. Every homeless person can panhandle for $8 a day. The hotels can have drug sniffing dogs and pat downs. They will be more private than a shelter, but still, no drugs or weapons allowed. They can also buy land out by the prison and construct a place where homeless who really do want to work and sustain themselves can get paid to work on an Organic farm. There can be shuttles that go to several grocery stores or a mall area. This will separate the people who want to not be homeless from the people who are horrible people.

@@SolarCruiserDude ohh big internet keyboard warrior you are my dude, I see that I offended you with the truth that you have mistaken as "discriminatory" (no surprise there) so let's just touch on some points that you spoke, 1) You say that I'm the problem, oh yes...Soooo PrObLeMaTiC, you are talking to someone who was formally homeless my bro, I often give a helping hand to them, because I'm "selfish" like that, like you do I'm sure..2) I have plenty of hobbies, like camping, hiking, traveling, reading books as I have a thirst for knowledge so that I may help myself become a better person to others, like you do 3) homelessness my guy, is nothing to live for, it developes mental health issues due to isolation wrapped in addiction, it's very dangerous, worse now than what it ever was, back then it was somewhat safe, what little friendships you have are a "use and discard" relationships, it's a disgusting way of life, and something I would never go back to, yes they do have a choice, they just choose not to accept a change, the first person to comment on here was right, tweakers, and I'll add coke heads, pot heads, alcoholics, psychotic behavior, all living to get their next binge and will hurt you to get it, myself included, I'd look for the careless type, easy target, one with their wallet hanging out of their purse, dudes that left their wallet in plain view etc, you get the drift, panhandle, alot us didn't eat for days, our addictions and the lies that we surrounded ourselves with was more important, of course 2 is better to run with if you can trust them not to stab you in your sleep and take what little you have....3). "secretly resentful"....no more like highly despising...there's a difference look it up, I've been there, I help someone from time to time to get them to see that there is a way out, do you understand why family casts them out, they have come to the conclusion that when daughters and sons that are involved in a dangerous lifestyle, it's only a matter of time before they bring down their whole family. Tough love is a valuable lesson learner. (I've seen that a time or two..I bet you have too haven't you?)..don't worry my guy, alot of us will be in the streets soon with the way things are going..the nice advantage that I have, is that I know what to do in that situation, I'm sure you do too right? 4). My personal favorite that you said: well I can't see it now but you mentioned something about these people loving the "open roads" and living "rent free "....lol 😉 😀 😜 😄....I'm sure you've driven a truck nearly 20 years like I have, do you know how many miles that is, nearly 2 million...please tell me again about being rent free, I wanna hear it..🤣🤣🤣...my guy, listen to me and cut the BS, I've lived the life that other people dreamed they could have, I've went from tremendous highs, to woeful lows, and soaring higher than my last high. I'm not boasting my dude, you believe you can come out of a homeless pit and make alot money ...it's yours, it's not really that difficult. 5) Covid huh? It's being used as an excuse lately, people are making a whole bunch of money off this, people are "out of work" because they are or were making 600 dollars a week. it's more like a exploitable racket for profit business, benefitting from the sick is what the capitalists do bro, mixed in with severe control tactics that I've never seen before. I'm sure you know that, don't you? 6). Yes SoOoO SeLFiiiiSH....I give my crew at work food and water, not to mention I take care of someone with chronic issues that she's had for nearly 30 years, diverticulitis, RA, degenerative nerve pain, I wish that on no one, try listening to "I don't want to live anymore, "I wanna just shoot myself" "I don't have a purpose to live anymore".. I've watched her go from 200 lbs, down to 102 pounds, yes my dude, I'm watching her wither away, try witnessing that and not having the power to help ...it's pretty eye opening. I'm sure you've experienced this? 7)..no I'm not going to mind my own business, that's what unaccountable weaklings do, in a time like this, it's time to mind everyone's business, come together and lend a helping hand...because if you learned anything about the recent events, "minding our own business" is how we got to this point.

The irony of this situation is that these RV live just like most of you just on a slightly lesser degree. Truth is they have less of a impact on environment then anyone who owns a home or a business. The amount of trash they produce is far less than what I or the average homeowner makes. Difference is they are not paying to have their garbage hauled away to somewhere else. Also their food and energy consumption is far less than the Mormon family of six buying $400 of food a week at the local Costco, supporting terrible corporations. Think about that next time you buy your one time use plastic bag filled garbage calories or you energy drink that you throw away after you're done getting what you wanted out of it. Capitalism needs these people so your life can be a little easier. You just don't want to see them because it reminds you and makes you realize the truth about life. It's a minor inconvenience to count your blessings.

@@Listening4Gabriel That's right, I am not a slob on the streets today, and I wouldn't be if I was homeless either. But I have to walk among the streets and walk among the filth left behind by them sometimes in my community. Also, I hope other children don't pick up those needles the slobs leave out there too. There are a few homeless people I have met in my time that were genuinely caring people who were conscientious people living homeless and cleaning up after themselves.

Because putting “druggies” as you say in jail solves what? It punishes them for having an illness. And besides once you’ve locked them up for a little while and let them back out, then what? What do they have? It was taken or towed when they went to jail. Everyone is so quick to punish homelessness as if they truly want to be homeless

We do NOT have a right to take personal property and destroy it! What an asinine thing to even think! Love to see the city do that to you! Really? The city needs to create places for these RV homes to park and exist. Just like a campground, but with standards of up-keep and respect for others. And that should pay toward it just like mobile home owners do.
