Tak zrobić grę, żeby podbić serca i dusze graczy to jest gra, a nie jakieś gówno teraz... Jak stworzyć grę poprzez którą można napisać książkę, to jest właśnie jedna z takich gier.. Gothic! "Za moich czasów"... robiono gry jak należy!!!
The true genius of this is how the Gothic 3 theme contains the main melodies of both the previous themes. Also has anyone noticed that Risen may be a direct continuation of Gothic 3? Xardas manages to remove the old gods, togeather with himself and the nameless hero (Xardas ending) and that raises the Titans in their absense (as stated in the Risen intro). So you could say Risen and Arcania take place in parallel universes, each following a different ending to Gothic 3. Mind = Blown.
Gothic series has the best soundtrack a game can have...rarely you find a game where the atmosphere and the music have so strong link...many congrats to the people who made it

I played all the Gothics, even Forsaken Gods, I must admit that Gothic I has the best feeling ever, being trapped in the barrier, different ideologies about how to evade, in one word, epic. Gothic II has a larger world and an intense storyline. Gothic 3 after the Community Patch 1.73 is truly a wonderful game, landscapes, characters, cities, nice, story is memorable. And Forsaken Gods, while it has it's issues, I truly loved this one too, it makes the connection between Gothic 3 and 4.
Gothic 1 -> Gothic 2 -> Gothic 3 -> Risen 1 -> Risen 2 -> Arcania. There are many clues in Risen 1 which relate to the gothic series.. like Mendoza saying that "A mage banished the gods from the world" (G3 Xardas ending) .
i love this game i played all parts...every part....dozeen of times..i know all secrets of gothic....is a great game...the nr 1 RPG......and gothic 1 was the best.....i still love that spirit of the game:X just listen the soundtracks
Played gothic when I was 11, thought it was the best thing since Duke Nukem. It was scary, hard to play, and so fun trying to exploit the game I remember waiting in the forest for one of the Templars with the Kings 2h for him to patrol along so I could beat the crap outta him and steal his kings 2h. And sleeping in Raven's bed so hed be in there at night time for me to beat the crap outta him and take Ravens Right from him. Or turning into a bloodfly to quick travel around the map. bestgameever.
Gothic is my first RPG :-> Ooooh...I still remember the times when I knew no english but I was slaying scavengers in the woods :D old times...good times...

Gothic 1-2 were games who told a perfect story with a perfect package of gameplay and atmosphere! Even today, Gothic 1-2 are two of my favorite games at all! No gave me such a great feeling until today.!

@Th3DooM Oh yeah, I know exactly what you mean. Gothic was and is just awesome. Sadly there is not much we can do to bring Piranha back to Gothic. But Risen is just as atmospheric, mysterious and addicting as Gothic was.

Have first 3 gothic games in retail and have already finished them multiple times. Recently though i bought them again from steam -all 4 games + expansions( i have never played any). I started playing the first game again- i never get borred playing a gothic game-btw i know arcania will suck but it was in the package and nevertheless i would like to have it for collection's sake.

I loved I too, especially the storyboard...still...the second brings a new atmosphere of freedom and in the second the consequences of your actions are revealed....for example: the destruction of the barrier brought freedom to the criminals...but also decided the fate of the war...without the storyboard of g2, the rest of the story wouldn't fit...and I stand about what I said about Jowood...I mean..Pyrahna was the first to design the game..now jowood is continuing the series with Arcania?Thiefs!
