Gothic 3 is so underrated. Yes, i had many bugs, but there are community patches now. But it always had something most games don't have. A Soul - something you cannot patch. The music, the atmosphere, the exploring... i had a lot of fun playing Gothic 3, even without one patch. I freaked out many times bc of the bugs, but i continued playing, couldn't stop. This is a good hint that the game itself is very, very good...
I 100% agree and the music here is gorgeous, but if you enjoyed Gothic 3 hope you've played Gothic 1 and 2 as well, they are just way better! Much more Piranha Bytes presence

both of you are kinda "wrong-ish" in 10-15 years Witcher 3 is very likely gonna be the "childhood" game of many generations (myself included infact, 12 years old when the game was released) Just as much as we know jack off to this whole trilogy. That being said, yeah Gothic 3 is the weakest compared to it's previous games that were basically fucking outstanding. But honestly to me at least it's better than most what Bethesda shited out in the past decade for example so yeah.
I also had the luck that i didn't encounter bugs in my patchless first playthrough, i was lucky probably, but above that the music never failed to work it's magic in this game!
I hear in germany this game got reviews like 8 out of 10. In America, it got 1's and 2's. having played the game myself, I can tell that something horrible happened in the translation. This music reflects that tragedy.

I'm not quite sure if you're talking about the programming or actual gameplay, but in the US version of this game you couldn't play for more than 5 minutes without encountering some game terminating glitch. Your character falls out of the world and dies, gets stuck in a wall and can't move; that sort of thing. If you play for a while without anything like that happening and you think everything is hunky-dory, you open your inventory and everything has disappeared; or just one key item. Not good.
That was my childhood.. omg memories.. g1, g2 and g3 really bests game in the world.....
