  • While adventuring through Southeast Asia I didn't have the proper travel documents while on a layover in Kuala Lumpur to allow me onto the plane to Vietnam. We were stranded for 3 days while a man I met online organized a travel visa for me. Come along as we explore this metropolis and get our vacation back on track!

I like both of you honest view but it can get backlash from the local viewers that are sensitive and patritotic..it happened to many youtubers before mostly from the West as most Asians are proud with their countries. Kuala Lumpur or Malaysia as a whole is the second most developed country in South East Asia after Singapore. Of course it still need a lot of work to be done ...however compared to developed countries included Germany and Canada as I have been to both countries even I lived nearly 2 decades in Europe, there are so many flaws as well and not all places are clean and organised. No country is perfect, but if you have a small country like Singapore or Monaco it much easier to manage it. Enjoy your travelling and keep your eyes and mind opened.

Looks like you came during Chinese New Year and things can get very intense during that time in KL. Malaysia has a huge Chinese & Buddhist populations btw eventhough they are not the majority race. You are right as well, the maintenance of the river has been lazy at best. You are at a pretty nice area, if you go to the not so pleasant area, that particular river become even worse. Having said that, compared to 20 years ago KL is wayyyy cleaner than it used to be. We have come so far but we still have a lot of work to do. Anyway hope u enjoy your stay & hope u will come back in the future.

The building and the tip on the top of Merdeka 118 is actually a representation of Tunku Abdul Rahman (the 1st Prime Minister) posture standing and raise his hand proclaiming "Merdeka Merdeka Merdeka". So it is not cheating .. but a historic representation of what happened on August 31st 1957.

Also it is not cheating bcs that is a spire not antenna. Which is useable. So its count as a building height while antenna cant be count bcs its not useable like spire. People need to differentiate that between spire and antenna.

As a traveller u need to do a lil bit research about the country u want to go. Thats some basic things. If not, yea it will have a good chance to happen things like what happen to u, denied from entrying a country.
    Btw, FYI
The tip u said on top of Merdeka 118 tower is not cheating. It is counted by official organization as its height bcs it is actually a SPIRE, not an Antenna. A spire is counted bcs it is useable for people, while ANTENNA cant. It is the same case for Burj Khalifa which had over 200M of spire. Official record of tallest building in the world cant be cheated by builders bcs the record is organized by official organization not self claim by builders themselves

The three remaining partners of the federation of Malaysia - Malaya, Sabah & Sarawak - has different culture and history each. Sarawak was ruled by the White Rajah for a 100 years until the Japanese Occupation. After that, Sarawak was seceded to the British crown and then became part of Malaysia. Sabah was under the administration of the North Borneo co. also until the Japanese Occupation and then handed over to the British. British didn't rule Sabah & Sarawak that long. If you're interested in a museum, head over to Kuching, Sarawak (Sarawak's capital city) and visit the second largest museum in SEA (currently largest in Malaysia) - the Borneo Cultures Museum.

The antenna u wr refering to is with a size of a building, not just one stick antenna u see on ur daily basis. Its illusion of eyes. That building itself is massive. If its just antenna like stick, u wont see it from far, jeez.

"Lanka"?? 😂I think you mean "laksa".
I like that you looked into the history of the city. If you're interested in that sort of thing and prefer to get away from the big city, you should look into coming to Sarawak one day. It's in East Malaysia (on the island of Borneo) and is very different in terms of culture and history compared to West Malaysia. Unlike the rest of Malaysia, Sarawak was not colonised by the Brits but was under the rule of James Brooke a.k.a "the White Rajah" after he was rewarded by the Sultan of Brunei for successfully sorting out the piracy issue and internal disputes amongst indigenous tribes. The Brooke family was very much accepted by the Sarawak natives and still highly respected to this very day. I suggest you look into it, it's all very interesting. It was even made into a movie (although I heard it did not do well commercially).

Nope, it is a spire. Antenna does not count as building height, only spire counted bcs it is useable. Not like antenna. So Burj Khalifa height of over 800m is legit. No cheating there. Its the same case for PNB118.

Perhaps you should do your homework before trying to enter another country and assuming they’ll just let you in. A visa request takes a few hours to approve. Lesson learned, don’t assume and you won’t be disappointed when immigration doesn’t break the rule for you because you are Canadian…

@@ninjaturtle6106 ok, got it, you have no idea. :-) What I am saying, there are many countries with strong passports, like the USA, that still require a Visa for Vietnam, including my country The Netherlands. We never had any beef or were in involved in any war with Vietnam, yet we need a Visa (And the Netherlands has one of the world's strongest passports). So it has nothing to do with the past war, it is just a policy, often based on reciprocity (among other criteria).
