I just finished my final exam recently :) Great feeling. Overactive Lats contribute to Anterior Pelvic Tilt so not sure why he doesn't mention it in this video. I think because he was just referring to the lower extremity. On a side note, if the hands are placed on the hips during the overhead squat assessment and the lower back isn't arching, then it means the Lats are the ones causing the arch.
@@holidaykorn Hmm i think other way round no? :) Are you still studying with NASM? Also what specialist qualifications do you have from them? I am currently doing FNS but it has been replaced with CNC
Andrew The Transformer i Will take the Nasm CPT next month so scared now , i am a bit confuse of the video coz this is low back arches and the OA should be Hip flexor, erector spinae and latisimus dorsi and the UA should be Hamstring, glutes and intrinsic core ...am confuse with this .
Coach, could you help with this, please? The NASM article on overactive and underactive muscles wrt the APT says that hamstrings are overactive as opposed to what you say over here. Doesn't that seem correct? Please help.
I know im late but no, the psoas comes from the spine to the inside of the femur. Quadratus is solely on the back and never crosses over to the front of the body
I failed my exam twice, I’m so afraid of taking it again but I will, I have tons of studying material, I read the book twice and pass all the practice exams with an 85% and I forgot to mention I get test anxiety..... help!!!
he doesn't say anything about the latissimus dorsi…. in the book they say that it is also an overactive muscle and in the practice exam too!
Ronierick Maia I am currently going over the study guide exam and it also mentions the latissimus dorsi; trying to understand how it would affect it.

what does compensation mean again?
So what’s the best rep range to activate my hams glutes and abs? Basic 3 sets of 10 for a cpl exercises each??
Nice! Yes she's having a lil difficulty!
Any video's on how to activate under active muscles in this type of case?
You have to strengthen them. In this case, you'd do knee flexion for hamstrings and core work (crunches, planks etc.) for abdominals.
Would the QL also be over active with an APT?

@@XPurpleVortex It can cause the QL to be tight but a tight QL doesn't cause APT :)
Super helpful visualization, thank you!
