- As part of DLA Piper Series: This is Sculpture, acclaimed film director Mike Figgis worked with Tate on a series of short films that focus on conversations with people from Liverpool about works of art in the first floor displays. Throughout 2009 select art works were taken into locations around the city, where members of the public were invited to talk about them in these new contexts.

3 basketballs in a tank. I will be following this artists revoltionary ideas very closely from now on. Just how does someone come up with such a masterpiece. Mind blowing creativity and imagination. Hopefully one day my understanding of art will grow to the point where I can wrap my dumb brain around just how incredible this piece is. Just jaw dropping, life inspiring work.

What's striking to me is that all of these interpretations are correct, also painted by the narrator ofc but that's beyond the original point.

@CatZula two things, first there are a lot of artists who don't include reject having any subtext in there work, mabey Koons wants something ambiguous or doesn't want to be didactic. Second point is that artist through out the centuries have been using crafts men to manifature their work. For the past hundred years for so ideas have been more important than craft when it comes to art.
@CatZula I don't think artists need explain their work if its already clear what it is, not saying that what it has to be any good mind. As for ambiguity in his work I think thats true of all modern art, there is a openness to the work that lets people apply their own interpration. This doesn't mean an artist can be lazy and not think about it, but I don't think Jeff Koons is lazy, mabey he is quite manipulative when it comes to the market, but not lazy.

Furdermore, if you had boddered t'read anytin' on conceptual art you would find, dat d'idea is as important as d'finnished article (ye observed yerself, dat he came up wit' d'idea)!!! Incredible to me how superficial/thoughtless/art ignorant so many (kept looking for someone with something respectful to say but gave up after five or six..) of these kids comments actually are, and one has to question the filmmaker's motives in parading their cluelessness in front of the world. There's a point to why this piece of art has met with such great acclaim in the art world, and if the kids had a few introductory lessons in what it was all about, they would have had a very different perspective and perhaps had something interesting to say.
