Own a 2018 GTC roadster. The “truest” part of this video is how dialed in and focused he is, yet not amped on the twisties. The car is like a Hellcat crossbred with C7 vette and the Mercedes style/trimmings. A good value for its price range IMO. Super fun to cruise and just feather the throttle; obnoxious exhaust note. The GTR and post-2018 models are a little more muffled.

I think that's probably the best looking rear end ive ever seen, even the Ferrari's. Love the almost vaginal oval shape with the symplistic lines contrasting with the aggressive tail lights and exhausts designs and with the huge tyres and the 'danger red' top contrasts nicely. Don't like too many angles on the rear with appendages sticking out. Keep it simple, if she's got a great rear just show it off, less is more :) More in car please. Maybe with a cut in of the cabin or visa-versa?
So the awesome burbling and crackling exhaust sounds only occur in sport and race mode. So why would you leave the car in any other mode unless you are a teenager who has nicked his dad's car for a joyride and don't want him to hear you leaving or coming back lol. They say the combustion engine is on its way out and the future is all-electric engines. That makes sense for family cars but if that is the plan for sports cars then hell no! 70% of the fun of driving a sports car is the engine and exhaust note. The best color by far for this regal looking car is a classy silver grey. It really brings out the design. Great video but if the focus of the video is the exhaust note then the microphone should be positioned right next to the exhaust pipe and not positioned in the cabin.
Very much doubt the GTC being THAT anticipated droptop. When people usually the money & use it on Mercedes it's usually for the G-wagon, S-class or the new GTR on every other level you can pretty much get the supercars.
urgetodrive Indeed. Theres an element of sound design. But you're comparing a 6.2 natural engine to a 4.0 Bi turbo. Most other bi-turbos sound horrid compared to their predecessors: at least this is close!
In your opinion I really missed out on hearing the old 6.2 in person how good does that machine sound? & in which car did it sound the best? C63, SLS or other?

Mercedes Benz USA is total garbage. Before the new slew of issues on my 2020 amg gtc, I asked them to take the car back and refund me and they refused. I already had a full case for filing for lemon but rather than try to work with me, they decided to fight me. For $187k car... pretty surreal situation. What luxury brand does that?! Ignored emails and calls, this person Maria some referral manager not offering any mediation or apology. This brand is disgusting. Current messages on dashboard: rear axle steering malfunction, brake assist functions limited, traction control off/inoperable. GARBAGE

If you have particular filter on your car then you don't get that wonderful sound. Instead you get fake exhaust sound from the speakers 😢
To this day I believe this is the most beautiful but and raw model in the gt lineup

I would prefer only hearing the cabin but cool.
The over-runs don't sound organic like with the SLS - a bit too artificial/manufactured.

Why do you have so many amgs? Im a mercedes fan too but this just seems overkill. There are a lot of other great car manufactors besides mercedes too
