If you are on the fence about the backpack mods, if you wanna keep with the same vanilla vibe of the donkeys/mules you could do a caravan of llamas.
Almost no one ever uses them, but moving huge amounts of items before you get shulkers is their entire purpose in the game lol.
I would say maybe also get an unbreakable lead mod to make it a bit less annoying
i think everyone needed a channel to watch with a slower style of gameplay, no crazy mods with ridiculous end game quests or the fast paced 100 days/ hardcore series.
suggestion tho, idk how you feel about going live on youtube when you and darman grind resources. feel like it would be great content and even for a stream to have on as a play along, food for thought

I say use whatever mod you want. I mean, within reason. Not some wall hack that takes you directly to every diamond vein in the seed.

15:45 regarding the backpack question. I think you should add it, but strictly only use it for material transport/building for said mega build. Like you can’t use it for resource gathering or just going and looting places.. but for moving and building it’s fine. Then once you get shulkers in the future then you could use the backpacks as intended as well.
Seconded this, but I personally care a little less about the full use of the packs. But this is how you seem to want it Skies, so seconded lol.
I third this because a backpack would be a lot more easier to transport materials and builds will get done quicker and then videos could come out more often. Ps I love you skyes
I thought Skyes said he wasn’t going to get shulker boxes in this world. But I like the concept of added a backpack in this world. They are pretty convenient for big builds.
Have you considered making minecart tracks to your mega builds? Then you could put all your supplies into minecart chests and ship them there. Kinda simulate the transportation process that you'd normally have to go through to build something that massive. It also makes the location of each build matter even more. And lengthens the process. Idk just an idea to toss around:) loving the series. Notifications on!

A few answers to questions:
YES, stream resource-gathering, and YES have Darman edit it into an episode. Even if it's a "_.5 episode".
For the outer edges of the lower courtyard, a short wall would work well. Maybe something where you have easy access to the top from inside?
For the "eyes" of the build, why not smaller fountains? Maybe ponds? It'd be fun to add "pupils".
Love the series and how the build is turning out! Keep up the good work!
i REALLY love the idea of having the tree be massive and having giant vines and leaves and stuff come down around the courtyard where you can hang lanterns from the vines!! plus that way the sky isn’t completely open like you said. i think having the tree be the focal point of the courtyard would be great, maybe it could be like a special magic tree :)

I think not using backpacks is a significantly better way to reinforce the need to build infrastructure. You can use cart lines or get some camels or mules to drag around on a wide road. Maybe wait until the builds require more than just 1 inventory of Shulker boxes to add the backpacks. Afterall, you did say you wanted to show the progression down

I have an idea, instead of downloading a backpack mod you can make a powerd rail duplicator and use levers for the redstone signal thing then use minecart chests to send your items to exactly where you want them to be
That would work but all the chunks would have to be loaded

Absolutely love the series. Here's a suggestion - since you said you won't be filling up the mega builds inside, you could make use of the empty space (farms below this villager trading hall for example; they don't have to be automatic (entirely up to your preference), you could just make them for the "aesthetic"; same principle later on with other builds, you could utilize the empty space for something related to the build so it can seem more functional too - be it secret libraries, tunnels, mines, roller coasters since we know how much you love those, you get the idea).
15:44 Knowing you and your thing with mega building projects(not that I am complaining, I absolutely loved all of them so far), adding the backpack mod is a great idea!
For the lower courtyard. I love the giant tree idea. Maybe take inspiration from the farm area in your fundraiser video. And speaking of which, the design you used for the end portal build would work well for the outside walls, especially if you going to have the large tree and other vegetation inside.

Make a 5 block stone gen use silk touch pic axe get all the stone you need bro a few hoppers into a chest so you don't destroy landscape for other blocks dig down 5 blocks then make 100 by 100 hole so the hole is not visible if your going to fig a mountain find a almost max hight mountain make the top the center point and dig out a hole bigger the 100 by 100 that the entire mountain is removed that could work better and it's too bad if I had java I would totally jump on and help gather resources for you to help out but I play bedrock love the series love both channels bro your awesome

You could also put light blocks underneath all of the leaves instead of grass blocks
vanilla tweaks has a datapack that updates really regularly that stops endermen from picking up blocks

if ur gonna use the river for a passage to the trading hall maybe add a boat mod it will make travelling in seas more fun
Setting up Alleys for mega terraforming is must for me. Just set up a bunch of collection zones and dig to your hearts content without worrying about your inventory filling up or any blocks despawning on you. I've destroyed entire biomes for resources with my army of Alleys. Even better if you set up chunk loaders so your Alleys continue to work (if you have a lot of blocks on the ground) while you ferry everything back to homebase.
Also if your still having iron farm problems i recommend finding your spawn chunks and building the farm there so it will work without you being there.
Also leather workers you know the cauldron guys sell saddles. And your turtles you BARROWED will not breed for you because they need their home beach so you will need to barrow eggs from the wild to bring home and be born at your base to breed them for eggs for farms and things

I love the idea of naming the mule "Cloud"! I think it's adorable, also when looking down at the lower courtyard from the sky it looks like an evil pumpkin carving. Lol

Built my first hardcore ugly mob farm waaaaay out at sea. It’s destroyed now I’m over 3k days in world- but spawn rates at sea were great! And didn’t have to look at it either 👍🏻

You did a very good job with the lower courtyard. I really like it. And I have three suggestions for it. You could directly bring the recourses to the build instead of your base to save time. The other thing is that you said you wanted to build a fountain in the middle of the lower courtyard. Maybe you could build two fountains on the semi circles of the upper courtyard. That could look very cool. Than you could connect the vines you wanted to build hanging from the tree to the walls or even to the fountain of the upper courtyard. And you could use those two blocks high rose bushes as vegetation on the grass patches. That would also look nice I think.
I think doing the backpack mod makes a lot of sense. It does suck going back and forth, it takes a ton of time, plus I think it kinda matches with the vibes of medieval much much more than shulker boxes do.
EDIT: I also think people would be more mad that you went to the end to get shulkers than they would if you did a backpack mod

I think it was this video when you said you like yapping and we should consider it as a podcast - which is exactly what I am doing. Idea for the future…
After you finish the entire mega build you should cover it with glass starting from the ground to make a giant dome or only the roof to make a skylight, that could be awesome…
I googled it and No, Rain doesn't have an effect on the concrete powder. Also i am throughly enjoying the series. Its keeping me entertained while doing work stuff at home. As for streaming you collecting stuff, I definitely would watch.
I expect this to turn out like stampys lovely world but more advanced
10:53 You should use the flowers as part of the courtyard, like the royals of old would have.
The idea of using lighting for decoration is cool but for mobs I think for your comfort and maybe just to save a little time use mods that lets you craft big torches and stuff like that that makes mobs unable to spawn

About the backpack thing, while it would be much more efficient, it also kind of removes meaning for the mule, not fully, but the building part, and most of the content you're most likely to leave in is the building. About naming the mule Clouds is a really good one and rolls off the tung better, You could also name him Darman or smth, or call us Darmans since Darman sudgests it so much throughout the episodes lol

Go to settings and find the thing that says LAN for yall it's like making it multiplayer
I think in you can modify what the world allows Endermen to pick up, so if you update you can go into that yourself and make it something you'll never use and that won't be important or exposed in a way Endmen can grab them.
2:04:00 I would recommend using frog lights instead of sea lanterns because you’ve already used them in your hardcore series and tbh it looks better yk and you have more variety using frog lights.

With these massive structures I keep thinking you should build one over a village and then have like an “archaeological” platform of viewing the ancient village. Something to fill up the hollow bases. Would’ve been perfect under this trading hall. I’m thinking of London and Italy where whole new towns were built on top of others.

For the streams I say don't make it into an episode but before beginning a new episode give a small summary of what happened on the stream

Ive been calling your mule in my head 'Backpack', but Cloud I think would be my choice out of the 2 options.
If you are going to install the backpack mod, I recommend Sophisticated Backpacks because you can upgrade it and also create a module that allows you to stack several stacks of the same item in one place in your inventory.
