- I try several things to find the most efficient way for me to wash aluminum bleachers. How NOT to ruin the finish. The most complete video on RUclips about cleaning bleachers. Spoiler alert - It's not easy!
Videos like these are the real bread and butter of learning. Thanks for doings all these.
Thanks
This guy is definitely under rated. He’s awesome. I love watching this guy. He’s teaching me and he doesn’t even know it. Well maybe now he does lol 😂
I appreciate you teaching me tricks of the trade boss. I’m learning so much.
I'm glad you're learning
I appreciate your video and here’s how I do it. I downstream SH ON the bleachers heavily use 19 or 16 inch whisper wash on the seat area and the floor area. Being very careful not to hit my bar then I will use an extra jet or green tip for rinsing. Don’t forget the old-fashioned tips. They still have a place.
Thank you so much for the awesome advice!
Use xjet for rinsing not extra
I use the smallest m5 which is most likely the exact tip as the xjet minus the injector port@pressurewashingbysterlingw9883
Green tip for the win
Man cool field of work there’s always something to clean and your set up looks like you been doing pressure washing for years nice good luck with your jobs and be safe !!
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Wheew🫡 that was tough one! As always you pulled it off 🤘🏿
That's what my wife says.
I did a quick search and found using a pressure washer and soap. That was the gist people were leaning on. Or using hot water to help remove gum and like items.
Thanks for the video. Very informative. Like to wear polyester clothes while washing. It doesn't hold water and dries quick. Also, bleach doesn't seem to bother it. And it's lightweight. Just my preference.
I have plastic shirts. But my pants are a blend.
hidden gem posted here... thanks!
I'm hard of hearing and missed if you said what you bid the job for (if you did.) It's none of my business but I'm just wondering if you mentioned what you bid it for? I'm trying to learn how to stop underbidding myself.
Very informative!
I earned my noney on this one!
Aluminum bright and ball valve bud major time saver
AB didn't work well with the anodized surface as seen in the video.
4:45 when that dirt just goes flying away. The best lol
you got lucky. We did a set of bleachers this year that hasn't been cleaned in 15 years. SOOO much gum, debris, algae to be cleaned. Then they wanted it brightened. The size of bleachers you did in the video was about the same size as what we did. It took 2 guys, 3x 10hr days. LOTS of wash out on the steps as the had boxed out steps. The pitch of the bleachers was off too. So we had to keep going back to rinse things. 1 step forward 3-4 steps back. The water supply REALLY sucked too. constantly out of water, even with full tanks starting with.
I thought you were going to say I did the work of three men! Lol. The gum and railings did slow me down. At least from here on I will know more about procedures and bidding.
@@housewashing5693 I think you did a great job, especially explaining do's/ don'ts, best ways / worst ways, etc. most of the time the bleachers are neglected when you get to them and it takes a lot of effort to make them look good again. One guy on our crew was doing nothing but gum for 1 day. It was pretty bad. Theres many variables when it comes to cleanings in general and thats why we give estimates. it's very rare we run into something we didn't plan for, like the wash out I mentioned. If this didn't happen, we would have been 2 days probably. We also had to deal with cleaning them during school and when the students were around the infield. Made things a little more complex as we had to wait for them to pass, no hoses on the track, etc. Would def encourage trying to sell annual. good for them to maintain and good for you to repeat work. No one likes to set on a dirty seat. Think about all the pop, ice cream, chips, etc that bleacher see. its pretty nasty when you think about it.
@jlservicesgroup4460 The superintendent said they were over ten years old and never washed. I was indeed lucky because I maybe had fifteen pieces of gum to remove. I told him it needs to be done every year.
“I didn’t pee all day until now.” I started cracking up when I saw Niagara Falls flowing 🤣🤣🤣
I'm glad you caught on to my dry dark humor.
Rinsing with the xjet creates added pressure over the m5 twist
Another option was to two stepped it like fleet washing. 1 part acid and 4 part water in 5 gallon bucket and down stream. Let it dwell 1 minute and the 1 part sodium hydraucide 4 part water in 5 gallon bucket and down stream. Then rinse with water. Just a recommendation and need to do a test spot like you did.
I just don't think acid is good for the anodized coating.
Also no more than 4 to 5 hrs depending if they have stands on both sides of the field
Felt your pain brother. I’d pee like an elephant 2 after that job😁. Down here I use 6% on everything. But mainly we use high strength degreaser up to 50%. Hot water helps if you got one. Wish we had butter gutter or LA Awesome to try.
I should have tried some degreasers. Maybe next time. I do think a smaller surface cleaner could have saved me several hours.
Thank you for the great video. Could you share please some info about the garden hose adapter that you have connected to the owners house. Thank you.
Garden hose Camlock fittings. Try tractor supply
@@housewashing5693 Thank you
Where do you get that blue wand and the wide tips for it at thanks keep up all the good work sir !!
18 inch blue wand is from amazon. amzn.to/4bsd2Pz
I would think sodium hydroxide would get up a lot of the black staining where people walk on the bleachers. In high traffick foot areas at estaurants, I've seen a lot of RUclips videos of using that. However, that is on concrete. im not sure if it would be safe on aluminum bleachers.
I'll give that a try on my next set. Thanks
Sh & red raider, let dwell, keep wet, rinse with 40 degree tip…all good. That’s what I do….thanks for the video!
I have Red Raider too. I'll try that on the next one. What percentage of sh?
@@housewashing5693 Hw mix unless real bad I go 2%, add red raider in the batch….helps cuts the grime.
Is it safe to mix the 2 different types of chemicals?
@@precisionpressurewashingan7184 just don’t mix an acid base cleaner with an alkaline base cleaner……no good there, dangerous.
@precisionpressurewashingan7184 Always read the label to find out. Usually we are only concerned if a detergent or surfactant is compatible with sodium hypochlorite.
47:48 "just put it on the scale and it weighs bout 38.5 lbs" lmfao
I was wrong. It weighs 83.5 lbs.
Also n3xt time park on the track and hook up water under the stands there is alaway bathroom and water connection around it and 4 drums of aluminum bright for sure heavy mix and simple rinse i use a ar45 to send the chems and the 8 gallon units for rinse super fast and you should be around 12 to 14k on pricing with the chems included
There wasn't water under the bleachers on the building. AB took the anodized coating off of the surface as seen in the video.
I have some bleachers coming up soon to do. They are VERY dirty... So im guessing strong mix of SH & turbo nozzle will be the way to go? If i could post a picture in here I would, but they are very dirty - Probably havent been cleaned in 15+ years
I would go 3-4% sh. I would also make sure you figure in your price a non wheeled surface cleaner to do the floor boards and seats.
@housewashing5693 Sounds good. Thanks!!!
Say that bleacher job hit me back.. I need as much knowledge I can get just new to this
What was a ball park bid for something like that? Ive never thought about doing bleachers before.
I wouldn't charge less than $1.00 per square foot on bleachers. There is just too many surfaces to clean if done right.
Great content... next time consider a turbo nozzle in your arsenal with a little SH to pre-treat as needed...
Sorry sent comment before I finished watching ur video...turned out great
@aaronlonon7912 lol. Yeah. I figured you bailed out early since the vid is so long.....
he did...it weighs 38.5 lbs
Had to get the popcorn out for this one
Thanks for hanging in there!
I’d price that between $3500 and 4. The chemicals would probably be about 1500/2000 Including neutraliser. Chem is very expensive down here. That’s why hot water is best used, but then again Diesel is quite expensive and hoses don’t last.
@tomalley798 I've been paying 8.80 a gallon for sh the last two years!
Awesome video!
Question.... when spraying the chemical, how would you address the cement below if it was dirty? The over spray would clean in spots by accident on the cement, no?
If it's dirty enough that happens, I guess then they need to pay for cement cleaning also?
Just like if I get a housewash but no concrete. I tell them that the detergent is going to clean the concrete as a by product of washing the siding. Same thing I told them on the bleachers. They told me come spring they want me to wash under the bleachers.
@@housewashing5693 cool!

Yeah. Something like that. I would like to make something for the risers too
I'm running around 9-10 gpm at 2800 psi
I run a big machine too....but there are situations that really favor the little machines. When I get into to something like that, I just hook the little machine to the hose reel and get to work.@@housewashing5693

I woulda of tried to get access to the track instead
@Anthony-bl2qg The track and field were converted to artificial turf and rubber track just months before. So I didn't even ask about driving on the track. Next time maybe....
HEY Mr. HW IDK what kind of (SH) (Bleach) products you use, but If you can get ahold of some 30 second cleaner, then I think that it would make your jobs a Lil easier on you, from my experience with the stuff, it works wonders man. Happy Washin to ya brother. P.S if you happen to try it out, feel free to tag me in the video, bcuz I would love to see you use it and hear what you think of it.
That products active ingredient is sodium hypochlorite. Save yourself some money and buy a gallon of bleach.

There is no need to visit a gym. Thanks for watching!
you need to have your truck as close as possible to for better pressure. The further away the more hose means less pressure and less SH coming out. Your need more garden hose to supply you water, that will allow you to pull your truck BEHIND the bleachers using less hose. Problem is you never considered the distance. You looked at Google to figure your plan of attack and never going to the site and thinking things through. When you got a big job go look at it and make sure you ready for it. Your skin rash sounds like bleach burns not jock itch. Did you take pictures of any kind to show before and after? Did you document existing damage so you don't get sued? Your dealing with government here, they like to sue, for anything. One last thing to everybody, it's a bid job, the winner is the lowest bidder.
My dude surface cleaner.High pressure like m5 twist and you're out of there.
My surface cleaner was too wide. You must of missed where I tried the m5's
