It's important to note though, that what you use and build for in solo content like vMA and vVH are not really how you'll build in a Trial Group. But the way you do things in them does directly help and improve your ability to do group content
@@nelson_rebel3907 For sure, I actually heal in trials and group content but my solo build and my dps build are also very different. Thanks for watching!
3:11 that’s so wild because most dungeons can be solo’d on normal. Even some of the DLC dungeons can be solo’d on normal. I think VMA is harder than some dungeons.

Just stumbled upon this channel, intro was an old TNA clip so I’m sold 😂 love that you have a lore based dark elf character! My next toon I plan on being a member of house dagoth pre war of the first council. Good content bro! New fan! P.S you read me like a book, I came from Skyrim this to this day is my first and only MMO, I played when it dropped in late 15/16 and never made it to the first DLC and now I came back a couple months ago and am absolutely lost lol
I had one issue with VMA during the Vault of Umbrage, if you have tips activated, do no interrupt the boss... I repeat, do not interrupt the freaking boss like the tooltip suggests! XD
So glad I subbed today!! Going through all your vids now… I’m over Champion 500 and have never even taken the undaunted invite 😅. I do the regular daily dungeon and love it though! I find it challenging enough and have that fear I’d be letting the team down in harder content
I enjoyed your video and the editing in this one! Grats on the flawless vma run. Also I hope at this point in time your getting them trifectas now and not just hm. 😉
Neat content. One thing about solo arenas is that they actually easier when you build a bit tankier than what you do for trials/dungeons. Some mix between PvP duel build and PvE build, ~26-27k HP range, and not only focus on damage, but also on healing. Lots of players like to run them with Pale order, but I'd say it's easiest to run with Gaze of Sithis - because no mechanics in both Maelstrom and Vateshan doesn't require you to block.
Tbh I find the opposite true. A lot of challenging content in ESO gets easier when you do more damage. You can just skip half the mechanics, or all of them sometimes. Offense is the best defense.
I started doing base game veteran dungeons solo recently, I think it's really helped me improve, I'll have to try VMA next. I admit I want that flawless conqueror.
As an AMA, I am addicted to the craziest 5 piece bonuses on sets. I am currently running Defiler and Mad Tinkerer and it is chaos when the Hunger and verminous fabricant are running around 🤣🤣🤣. Just wondered if you had a particularly crazy one or a favorite :)
Just did vMA last night. 19 deaths. Most of which were because of the poison mushroom things and the bosses enraged scream in the Vault of Umbrage Learning the mechanics is key. After that it's very doable.
I got stuck on Vault of Umbrage but prior to that I died in the Frozen Rink or whatever it’s called, to the giant, twenty-some times, idk I quit counting. Even after looking up exactly what to do I found it borderline impossible to not be on the island when the matron jumped and receiving an insta-death. Started just running like a madman to island after island after just a few seconds and eventually was on a different one than she jumped on. Shit was mad stressful. I finally quit after an hour or two with the mushrooms, but I’ll be back.
just wanted to come back here and say this vid made me try the arena and it took me 3 weeks to get to the final boss and still haven’t beat him but it will happen
@@OldSaltySean1 i just completed vet maelstrom and i gotta say i’d never even done it or tried as hard as i did if i didn’t watch this, thanks for the motivation!
I've been on the last boss for days after blasting through every other VMA no death. Idk if it's controller, ps4 servers or what but it's just literally impossible. 28k health and getting melted with literally nothing in sight hitting me. Circling Crem guards also doesn't work on ps4. It's a shit show but I'm glad I realized that I just don't like this games combat in any shape or form. It feels horrible even though I love everything else about the game. The combat is worse than any other mainstream mmo imo
I know its cliche but again I never expected to win my first time in so I was just rocking a general solo build by Alcast =) alcasthq.com/eso-solo-stamina-warden-build-pve/
Am a 50 yo guy that kept away from Vet content for reasons you articulated but had a couple of weeks off work and started running Maelstrom on normal. By Friday of last week I went in to Vet and cleared it with a number of deaths and by Tuesday I had flawless. Love it. On to Vateshan?
I was also pretty casual. but at spme point I wanted to get good at carrying my friends who are new to the game. so I was forced to start running veteran to get better gear. and I ended up loving VMA
@@OldSaltySean1 I could relate to your opening. That’s the instance I got stuck in until I finally beat it! Then like you said in your video, I ran it again and again until I got The Flawless Conqueror.
Great Video, really gave me the push I needed to try out these solo challenges. Also really like the armor at 1:20, does anyone know what it is called?
Hell yeah glad to hear it. As for the outfit it's the oblivion explorer garb and head wrap. You get one piece from going to Fargrave for the first time in the Deadlands DLC and another for finishing the Deadlands main quest.
problem with eso is it lacks any real tutorial system basically 90% of knowledge is gained through experience and other players. Ive gone through 1700CP on my character on EU took me to around 800CP to beat vMA i had some friends help me through base game vet dungeons and some DLC ones with hardmodes but even then there were a couple out of reach of me still. Vet Fang Lair still gives me nightmares along with veteran Scalecaller peak and vet Blackrose prison which i still havent done. Hell only recent did vet Dragonstar arena. I decided to start a fresh on NA starting with absolutely nothing except for the knowledge and experience of 1700CP under my belt and things have just been much more efficient. I knew exactly what i needed to do first. I knew to deconstruct everything and research everything i picked up. I knew to upgrade my mount everyday and run random normal dungeons. Hell i had never even done a crafting rit before on PC EU XD only just unlocked that achievement recently. I complete vMA at 167CP and flawless at 240CP. thing i would not believe to be possible when i was 600CP on EU. Now im nearly 600CP on NA combined with the 1700 on EU i guess ive put a decent amount of time into the game and still loving every minute of it. a little late to the comments on this video but congrats on the Flawless, great video, you earned yourself a sub
Thank you! I actually touched on that in my rant about update 35. The lack of a tutorial is incredibly frustrating as I don't feel like any of the in game mechanics are inherently difficult but the reason Joe Schmoe in a pick up group hits garbage numbers isn't because he's bad but because he doesn't know everything he's capable of in the game. Thanks for the comment and the sub!
I moved on to vet after having the exact fear you mention. Now I wouldn't do normal- its just way too easy. Been putting off vMA and vVH for too long and decided it was high time I started. Just finished vMA first attempt but with unexpected hic-ups on stages I thought were going to be easy- maybe over confident. But as Xynode says everything in ESO is All About The Mechanics! Check out his site there are some pretty well thought out up to date builds that perform well whatever content you enjoy. For anyone hanging back on any content just go for it after all what's the worst that can happen? Some sweaty gets annoyed? F em' lol have fun and go smash vet content.
Yeah I am in that group. Although I have only been playing for about 5 months and still not sure how things work. Slowly getting them ironed out. Not sure if I am high enough CP (470) to even attempt VMA but I like a good challenge ( I need the Great Sword for my DK) I enjoy dungeon content and would like to get into Vets eventually. I am PC/NA if anyone out there wants to teach an old dog new tricks, I welcome it ! Great video and almost spit my coffee out at "My medical condition is called, Dumb Dumb Monkey Brain" Sub and Like great video and monotone explanation !
Happy it helped my dude, and yeah you should be good to go try Maelstrom! CP 300ish can do pretty much all the content in the game. Hope you enjoy it =)
As a None-MMO player, ESO (&Swtor) have become my new favorite games. I've played them since they released with very little skill, using hack & slash abilities to beat them several times. Veteran and other difficult activates in these games are very difficult for players that primarily play action adventure games on a console. I try to explain mechanics, skills, & classes to friends, and they seem disinterested in playing for very long. I remember being confused at first that I had to chose between being a DPS, Tank, & Healer. Why can't I just get the best armor & weapon, and heal myself like in Skyrim? Why would I choose to use this one ability, that only increases another ability for five seconds, when it only increases it by 3%? If either of these games weren't Star Wars or Elder Scrolls, I wouldn't have played them. But we never got sequels to those games.... But we are getting Beyond Skyrim & the Skiblivion & Skywind remakes! After years of just playing the storylines, with generic purple armor & weapons, using just the specific weapon abilities, I upgraded to a DPS/Tank that could solo World Bosses and even survive few mobs in Dungeons. In the end, I was still doing absolutely nothing when it came to PVP or Veteran content. I had to go back to using those weird class attacks & abilities. Luckily, I've been logging in every day, and grinding to unlock everything I could for several years now. I followed a few guides to create a pure stamina build, and I found I can survive against really tough enemies & mobs that I had no chance against before! I'm just now stepping into Veteran waters, and although I still die here and there, I find I'm gaining more ground every day. My goal is to be able to Solo Dungeons, and eventually, finally, become Emperor of Cyrodiil!
My bad for spamming comments but the more and more I get into the video the more you describe my EXACT mindset. Especially about dungeons and letting people down. I literally have 0 friends that play this game and always have had social anxiety so I don’t even try to make friends on here. I hope to find a friend group of people willing to teach and not expect me to be knowledgeable of 5 years worth of sets and skills. I’m CP 400 but still haven’t even completed half of the DLCs and I’ve never even stepped into an arena or vet dungeon. I just now barely started PvP.
No worries my dude, and the community is generally pretty accepting! Just definitely check in with a guild finder guild if you're looking to get into harder content, random PUGs can be a dice roll, but a lot of guild people are super patient in my experience and willing to teach whatever!
It's more mechanics heavy than anything, really have to learn the ins and outs of each boss and floor and understand that messing it up is likely an instant death in almost any scenario. Builds can definitely help but understanding the mechanics is the most important part. Keep at it, you can do it!
I dont know off the top of my head but I know people have been complaining about latency since the newest dungeon update but I haven't run into issues.
And there's a z player I came on for 6 months got plague doc and necro set up,I used a 1 pet bar build. completed measltrom on vet got the staff and that's it,I don't have the people to play with and I find player ignore if you want to run a dun to farm that's why I don't really play.
That's next on the list for me! Some friends just started playing again so we're doing group content currently but I will be doing it as some point soon.
I've been stuck on the last boss on the last arena on VET. Idk why...those damn skulls 💀 get me every time! I have been trying on and off for months! IT'S JUST THE LAST GUY... I HATE HIM!
You can do it! The last fight seems insanely chaotic but if you stay calm hes not so bad. The only huge threat is the daedroths, the fire breath is nasty and stays on you if you dont kill them. His skull projectile is a pain (I get hit by it in the video after I'd already done it a dozen times, so it definitely can sneak up on you, but stay calm and you can do it =)
Stupidly, I dont have a deathless run of VMA. But i have Spirit Slayered Vateshran on like 9 or 10 different builds. Vateshran is waaaay more fun to me than VMA, but teaches you slightly different things (without quite as much of the bs from the poison arena)
Open the party menu (P on keyboard) and in the upper right corner it should say default dungeon type or something similar, change it from normal to veteran
Someone help me here. I make, Sub Assault, Carve/Brawler, Fetcher Infection/Swarm, Bull Netch, Stampede, Cutting Dive, Vigor and the bear ult. What are 3 & 5 front bar and 4 back bar? Really would like to try a Stamden variation of my current Warden. Any help appreciated.
@@OldSaltySean1 I just finished a run... It took me 4 hours. I died many times... I got the ice staff so I guess I'm doing it again but I do have a better understanding of the mechs.

Yeah the leap in difficulty between base game veteran content and DLC veteran content is pretty wild (I talked about it in my recent video on ESO's difficulty). Thanks for watching!
Veteran is a lot more unforgiving especially in dlc dungeons. Definitely in the newest dungeons, the bosses are a lot more challenging. You'll see more players baby raging or giving up in pugs.
You are so right iv found players 1000 plus cp who don't even wear gearsets. When I asked y they say it's because they get kicked out of group or just don't wanna fail because of others that I also thou was kinda sad. Unfortunately ESO is a very toxic game lol.

bro'... I'm still new to ESO (about 1.5-2 yrs or so, on and off) and I don't do dungeons, almost never, so I'm one of those guys in the casual category... why I don't do dungeons? 'cause it's grinding and I don't like grinding... to me just fishing or roaming around is fun enough to log in for a bit... clearing hard content means being competitive, which is the opposite of casual playing game style...

@@OldSaltySean1 Great video! Hope to see more related to the solo content. ESO lacks in more of it. Thanks for replying
I honestly think vma is harder. Vvh is just latency xD terrible
3:11 that’s so wild because most dungeons can be solo’d on normal. Even some of the DLC dungeons can be solo’d on normal. I think VMA is harder than some dungeons.

Good video tho.
Haha I heard Cyro got better, is it true? I still haven't gotten into Cyro pvp
@@OldSaltySean1 I give it a try every weekend and some nights but when the servers are truly alive the lag is unbearable; a mix of lag and desync. Very nasty.
You can give it a try at bg's or Imperial city, those have no problems with lag.

I'll do anything to rep some Scott Steiner on the channel lol! Thanks for the kind words! And yeah a loooot has changed since then!
I had one issue with VMA during the Vault of Umbrage, if you have tips activated, do no interrupt the boss... I repeat, do not interrupt the freaking boss like the tooltip suggests! XD
I had a guild mate go through that same issue! No idea why it suggests that 🤷♂️
@@OldSaltySean1 Because its a rite of passage.
This is perfect. I've been around since launch and I've always told people that VMA will force you to 'get good'.
Definitely seems the case! Thanks for watching!
@@OldSaltySean1 You explained it well. Forces you to manage resources, be aware of mechanics, and keep yourself alive all while keeping damage up.

Great points!
Tbh I find the opposite true. A lot of challenging content in ESO gets easier when you do more damage. You can just skip half the mechanics, or all of them sometimes. Offense is the best defense.
@@inspirer4763 Also true

Circling Crem guards also doesn't work on ps4. It's a shit show but I'm glad I realized that I just don't like this games combat in any shape or form.
100% agree my dude, thanks for watching!
Do u have a charter build video for ur chater encluding the style of your outfit , if not I'd love to something like that

I second Lucky Ghost's video, it's very informative and is how I got past vMA. How if I could figure out how he does so much more damage than me...
VMA is (mostly) fair, expect for the poison level! That place is full of bad memories lol
I rarely get mad playing ESO but that level, that level changes you.
That's a nice house you have there, Ossa Acentium? Showcase? XD
Thanks! It's on the to-do list once it's done, got one last room and the outside to finish up but I will def do a showcase at some point =)
@@OldSaltySean1 haha looking forward to it XD
vMA does a great job at teaching mechanics even more so than vVH, in vVH you can ignore 50% of mechanics through sheer damage.
vVH is still on my list to try out so I can't comment but I agree that vMA was a great teacher for end game!
I've only completed normal one, and cannot do this for the vet, maybe try with a different character & build?
It's more mechanics heavy than anything, really have to learn the ins and outs of each boss and floor and understand that messing it up is likely an instant death in almost any scenario. Builds can definitely help but understanding the mechanics is the most important part. Keep at it, you can do it!
Out of interest what was your latency doing these VMA clears?
I dont know off the top of my head but I know people have been complaining about latency since the newest dungeon update but I haven't run into issues.
And there's a z player I came on for 6 months got plague doc and necro set up,I used a 1 pet bar build. completed measltrom on vet got the staff and that's it,I don't have the people to play with and I find player ignore if you want to run a dun to farm that's why I don't really play.
Time for Vateshran Hollows? :P
That's next on the list for me! Some friends just started playing again so we're doing group content currently but I will be doing it as some point soon.
Soling vet DLC dungeons etc is the end-game FYI =) That and PvP.
So I've heard, thanks for watching!
