congrats on going through it yourself! and no death!
i enjoyed the structure of the video, it's nicely edited and your deadpan humor is 👌
personally, i've been wanting to do vma for awhile now but kept coming up with excuses to not do it because i know how much time i'll sink into it.
why though is for the same feeling you got in the end: confidence. it'd be nice knowing every time i wanna complete vet content that i would be able to do it, even if it is hard at first i would be able to learn and push my build to be what i need it to be.
another incentive... all the pretty dyes are in vet content...

    • @OldSaltySean1

You sound like you were exactly where I was which is why I think you should absolutely go for it! I disregarded builds with maelstrom weaps/monster sets and just got alternatives, told myself I didnt need them to clear the content I wanted to do, but I've been having so much more fun since I started trying the content I thought I'd never do. If I can do it I know you can!

Thank you. I am one of the players you described almost to a T. And I wanted to reinforce your description of dungeon experiences. I was lvl 700 or so and still a noob with dungeon content and could not figure out how to complete the quest at the end of one. Brother, I cannot stress how glad I am I found this video. I’m 1400cp and years ago used to do my daily randoms in veteran difficulty, but along the way, introducing friends to the game, I started playing only regular level content and lost all the confidence I once had. Now coming back to the game I’m terrified of doing vet content, even though I basically have every meta set outside trial sets. I’m gunna run vma a ton over the next few days as I look to find that confidence to get back into the veteran level and trial content. Appreciate it ✊🏼

First of all - great video, solid content and i hope you quickly get popularity !Few tips from a vet player to newer players: Don't stop moving, clear the adds(especially on arena 5) - do not rush on nuking the boss, if you're going for a flawless run and you die at lets say arena 7, just finish the run, you're close to the end so get your weapon anyway and most importantly do not copy paste alcast builds, yep hes a great content creator and knows the game inside out but hes missing some stuff. Don't use 2h on the mainbar if you have a class spammable since 9/10 times its better than the 2h spammable. Yes you get the shield from brawler/carve but in wardens case you can use healing skill on light attacks with bird spammable and use dw for crit.

This was a super great video! Im almost 1000 cp and almost 1000 hours and am at a very similar place only just starting endgame stuff. although my vMA run sounds like it was a little more painful than yours (partially my fault though cause i knew i needed to change some things but was stubborn and just pushed through - but wouldnt have learnt what needed to change if i hadnt tried) but it was pretty amazing to finally get done after like 500 deaths and now im kinda gunning for more endgame content and have learnt alot about stats that are important and skills buffs etc. And am making a number of builds to suit. Your recommendation to try this stuff is so true!

    Neat content.
One thing about solo arenas is that they actually easier when you build a bit tankier than what you do for trials/dungeons. Some mix between PvP duel build and PvE build, ~26-27k HP range, and not only focus on damage, but also on healing.
Lots of players like to run them with Pale order, but I'd say it's easiest to run with Gaze of Sithis - because no mechanics in both Maelstrom and Vateshan doesn't require you to block.

problem with eso is it lacks any real tutorial system basically 90% of knowledge is gained through experience and other players. Ive gone through 1700CP on my character on EU took me to around 800CP to beat vMA i had some friends help me through base game vet dungeons and some DLC ones with hardmodes but even then there were a couple out of reach of me still. Vet Fang Lair still gives me nightmares along with veteran Scalecaller peak and vet Blackrose prison which i still havent done. Hell only recent did vet Dragonstar arena.
I decided to start a fresh on NA starting with absolutely nothing except for the knowledge and experience of 1700CP under my belt and things have just been much more efficient. I knew exactly what i needed to do first. I knew to deconstruct everything and research everything i picked up. I knew to upgrade my mount everyday and run random normal dungeons. Hell i had never even done a crafting rit before on PC EU XD only just unlocked that achievement recently. I complete vMA at 167CP and flawless at 240CP. thing i would not believe to be possible when i was 600CP on EU.
Now im nearly 600CP on NA combined with the 1700 on EU i guess ive put a decent amount of time into the game and still loving every minute of it. a little late to the comments on this video but congrats on the Flawless, great video, you earned yourself a sub

    • @OldSaltySean1
      @OldSaltySean1  2 года назад

Thank you! I actually touched on that in my rant about update 35. The lack of a tutorial is incredibly frustrating as I don't feel like any of the in game mechanics are inherently difficult but the reason Joe Schmoe in a pick up group hits garbage numbers isn't because he's bad but because he doesn't know everything he's capable of in the game. Thanks for the comment and the sub!

I moved on to vet after having the exact fear you mention. Now I wouldn't do normal- its just way too easy. Been putting off vMA and vVH for too long and decided it was high time I started. Just finished vMA first attempt but with unexpected hic-ups on stages I thought were going to be easy- maybe over confident. But as Xynode says everything in ESO is All About The Mechanics! Check out his site there are some pretty well thought out up to date builds that perform well whatever content you enjoy. For anyone hanging back on any content just go for it after all what's the worst that can happen? Some sweaty gets annoyed? F em' lol have fun and go smash vet content.

As a None-MMO player, ESO (&Swtor) have become my new favorite games. I've played them since they released with very little skill, using hack & slash abilities to beat them several times.
Veteran and other difficult activates in these games are very difficult for players that primarily play action adventure games on a console.
I try to explain mechanics, skills, & classes to friends, and they seem disinterested in playing for very long. I remember being confused at first that I had to chose between being a DPS, Tank, & Healer. Why can't I just get the best armor & weapon, and heal myself like in Skyrim? Why would I choose to use this one ability, that only increases another ability for five seconds, when it only increases it by 3%?
If either of these games weren't Star Wars or Elder Scrolls, I wouldn't have played them. But we never got sequels to those games....
But we are getting Beyond Skyrim & the Skiblivion & Skywind remakes!
After years of just playing the storylines, with generic purple armor & weapons, using just the specific weapon abilities, I upgraded to a DPS/Tank that could solo World Bosses and even survive few mobs in Dungeons. In the end, I was still doing absolutely nothing when it came to PVP or Veteran content.
I had to go back to using those weird class attacks & abilities. Luckily, I've been logging in every day, and grinding to unlock everything I could for several years now.
I followed a few guides to create a pure stamina build, and I found I can survive against really tough enemies & mobs that I had no chance against before!
I'm just now stepping into Veteran waters, and although I still die here and there, I find I'm gaining more ground every day.
My goal is to be able to Solo Dungeons, and eventually, finally, become Emperor of Cyrodiil!
