Just ordered the DLX to up my game for my reloads based on this and a few other reviews. Lots of great content for the DLX here and much appreciated. I'll be back for more reviews.
Great chrono. One thing I can highly recommend after using it for multiple testing and in different conditions is the add-on IR light kit. It's marketed as an indoor lighting solution, but it works wonders for cloudy, overcast, or even just weird lighting angles and shadows outdoors. Got rid of any errors I would get from lighting conditions.😎👍 amzn.to/49TFV6B
Good video, pretty nice chronograph. At first I thought you were gonna shoot it down, because you backed off a bit, but you know your stuff pretty well.
Thank you sir. I was a little nervous a few times, especially with that Barkeep. I might get real brave and stick it out at about 100 yards to see what kind of velocity something like a 5.56 or .308 is still carrying out that far. 😆
Thanks for sharing. I bought one of these today and hope to use it tomorrow. So I appreciated your demonstration showing how it operates. Best wishes from New Zealand.
Tools and targets: who could want more? I'm checking out this little chronograph and to have heard that it is quite a good unit for the price. Thanks for the product showcase!
I absolutely love it. I've used the app on my phone with it since this video and it works perfect. Even calls out the shots in real time audio on your phone.👍
Just found your video. Looking into upgrading my chronograph. I have a chrome I have had for 9 years. Tired of having to do all of the math. Thanks for the video and information.
@@ToolsandTargets I have to do the math figuring with mine. And that gets old. Didn’t do enough research when I purchased it 9 years ago. Thanks for the reply back.
The ProChrono DLX tends to give errors now and then, like it doesn't "see" the shot or something. Still, it's a good and useful tool for handloaders and factory ammo shooters alike. I have one and it's been quite useful in helping me settle on ammo recipes that deliver the best accuracy/velocity mix that I'm looking for. Nice video. Cheers.
😂 I was pretty worried shooting that little barkeep. I wanna try with a shotgun too but kinda worried about the wad flying off from the pellet spread and smacking into it. They make a little clear debris shield I might get for it before I try.
Thank you sir! It should be a fun toy to do some tests with. I was in my RK a few days ago and picked up another little Heritage. They had a ton of the Ruger AR556's in there. That's actually the only AR I own that I didn't build myself. I have about 4000 rounds through it and not a single problem. 😎
That's good to know, Iv always liked ruger, I haven't shot it yet though, only got 1 box of 20 Winchester. 223 silver tip because it was 30 bucks but ordered 100 rds online. You see the new ruger 9mm just came out?
@@bjburton5931 The little high cap carry gun? I did if that's what you mean. S&W just came out with one too called the shield plus. Everybody is getting into the micro high cap game now since the p365 and hellcat are doing so well. I love options! 😎
Yea that's it, the Max 9, I would like to have one, but between the fact that I like to carry my 1911 that Iv done some work to, and just buying a ruger AR, I don't think my wife would be to happy with me...😁, Maybe by my B Day lol
Hi Tools I forgot you did a video on the ProChrono DLX. I see it in all your videos. I am thinking about getting one of these to check speeds as well. So 2 things #1 I know you really like it but do you have any issues with it? #2 What do you have the ProChrono mounted on? As always thanks for the great video content. Be safe. 👍🇺🇸👍🇺🇸👍
The only issues you'll have is if you have some weird lighting or bad shadows or if you don't shoot straight across the sensors. I think it's the best option without spending a fortune on a doppler or magneto style setup.
Good video. I reload shot shells. Was looking at reviews. This one gets more positive reviews than the Caldwell. 🤷🏻♂️ From actual users. But Caldwell gets top reviews from magazines and sponsored tubers. 🤷🏻♂️ I’ll try out this pro chrono.
This has been a fantastic buy. Come to think of it, I don't believe I've ever seen a ProChrono sponsored vid, but I definitely see plenty from Caldwell.
Most of the velocities you see printed on rifle ammo boxes are derived from 24" barrels... Published pistol velocities depend on the caliber. Barrel length on an AR is pretty important to velocity... AR pistols, SBR's, carbines... (anything with a barrel under 24") is going to show a significantly lower muzzle velocity than what the mfr printed on the box.
LOL, I was a little worried about that with the little short barreled barkeep for sure. I wanna try some shotgun shells but I'm afraid the wad may separate from the shot load and smack into it. They make a clear shield to go over it I might get before I try shotgun.
I have an idea for your Chrono. Test your three Heritage revolvers with it using the same ammo to see if there's a difference between them as far as FPS goes between the different barrel lengths.
It may be boring to some who are not concerned with being accurate! For those who are looking to be more accurate, knowing this data to add to your ballistic calculations is essential! As you can see, the ammo box is not always accurate with your gun. This device gives you the real data.
I had one quit on me but I returned it under warranty. The replacement has been running great ever since then. It runs anywhere from $120 to $140 depending on where you buy it. If you don't need the Bluetooth feature, you can get the basic model for about $20 less.👍
Managed to shoot my chronograph today so this review is right on time
Nice Chrono, always thought I would like to have one of those. Great video.
Thank you sir. I think stuff like this is super interesting and just adds another layer of fun to guns for me. 😎
This, is the very next thing I planned to order! How convenient. Just ordered a range finder. Thanks for the vid.
Ordered mine yesterday, should be here Friday. Great video taught me a lot I didn't know.
Thank you sir. I have used the phone app since this video and it actually even has voice that reads out each shot in real time for you. Great chrono.👍
This didn’t put me to sleep! I watched the whole video 😁 great video! Keep them coming!!
Thank you ma'am! You gals have way more attention span than the dudes! 😂

Thank you sir. I really like it a lot. Has made testing ammo fun!
Midway USA has the DLX on sale for $116.99. I'm looking at reviews before dropping the dime on it. Nice video. Thanks man.

Nice. Thank you got ProChrono DLX Chronograph for Christmas.
Nice! I really like mine.😎
Mine arrived today. Looking forward to learning the velocities for my 18” SPR AR15 so I can build my DOPE chart. Start ringing steal past 600 yards.

This ones pretty nice. The phone app for it even talks and tells you the readings out loud in real time if you want.

Nice review. Keep up the good work. Thanks.
Thank you sir.😎👍
Had one but for some reason it got in the way of a projectile, now I’m looking for a new one.
Lol it happens lol

Another great vid, I need one of these, just picked up a riverar AR 556 at "the local rural king" lol

I just noticed my original post said rivvear or something, supposed to be ruger ar556 lol
Nice chronograph another great video Be Safe my Friend
Thank you sir. I'm a sucker for any kind of gun toys. 😆
Enjoyed the video very informative seems useful to check different ammo companies Be Safe & God Bless👍🎅
Thank you sir. I'm definitely curious to see how far off some of the claimed velocities are. 😎

Thank you sir. I should get a lot of use from it. I'm into the technical stuff like this when it comes to shooting. 😎
Great review thanks
How well is it holding up and are you using it along with your new one
5 to 10 feets of distance to equipament as recomended by manual? It seems like it's a long way away...

Thank you sir! I went on a little gun buying spree this past week so I got plenty of stuff to get video of for sure.😎
Nice video.
Cool video, I always wanted one but I’m worried I shot the thing!
Thanks and I think that's everybody's worry. I gotta admit, I was a little worried about it myself. 😆
Yeah. Just don't use buckshot.
@@IAMRUSTEDROOT LOL, I thought about it for a split second and then immediately decided against it. 😆
Gotta be one of the best chronies out their for the money.........
can you record rate of fire on this?
No
nope, no bore at all, interesting spread from 2270 to 2381!! Thanks
😎👍

I haven’t tried mine yet. I’ll probably stand 10 feet in front of it or there is a good chance I’ll end up shooting the unit.

How far are you from your chronograph? All that handgun action and I'd prob shoot it.
Probably about 12 feet or so.👍
That thing is cool. I saw Who_Tee_Who use one and shoot some super fast 4000+ fps blue ammo through it.
You can have all kinda of fun with that thing!
Yessir, I'll be using it a lot. I'm all about the technical stuff like this. 😎
Daaaaannngggg
Trying to get fancy over here! 😄
I swear I thought this was my cousin, from Valdosta, talking. He talk just the same, only about classic muscle cars as well as guns.
I was born and raised in Savannah.😎👍
So was my Grandaddy. They moved to Cat Creek north of Valdosta around 1900 or so….LONG LONG ago.
Is your Krono held up fairly well and what kind of price are you looking at

I would go through so much ammo with that. It would be fun. I love numbers lol
